I have eaten here twice. By twice, I mean ONLY twice. I love chicken sandwiches, but I don't love dried out, rubbery, door stop-excuses for chicken patties slathered in an ungodly amount of mayo. I'm not quite sure why I paid as much as I did for food that is no better, even a little worse, than any other fast food joint, for less the dollar. My husband got a sandwich too and he said it was okay, but not worth the price. Mayo is a condiment folks, it cannot be the main ingredient. The wait time for our food was also shocking BOTH times I have been here. Once in the drive-thru, and the second time inside. Unless they have changed their game recently, I don't recommend it. I wish I could give them no stars. Tonight I ordered there over the phone and picked up the order. When I got home the order was wrong. I understand that this happens sometimes, no one is perfect. When I called back to let them know that it was incorrect, they insisted that I got what I ordered. I told them no, that I'm looking at what I got and that it definitely wasn't what I ordered. He insisted I ordered a "number 7" and a "number 4" I said no, that I don't even know what a number 7 was. He insisted I said "number 7". I did no such thing. All I wanted was for the gentleman to say "I'm sorry, come back and I'll fix it for you." Instead, he said "You are wrong, I know what you ordered." When I insisted on seeing a detailed receipt of what he charged me for he refused and told me to "bring me the food and I'll give you a refund". When I got to the restaurant I put the food on the counter and he didn't say anything to me, just took the money out of the register and handed it over. We have enjoyed the Frosty King several times since we moved up here. I am sad to say that today's experience was not a pleasant one. I went inside, ordered to go, and was ignored for several minutes before the girl decided to come over and take my order. I ordered the pastrami, expecting it to look like the photo. The order was prepared placed in the window and ignored while I sat there and waited. Finally I was given my order, just the pastrami, and left. I arrived home only to find that it was only the meat and soggy bun. I was fortunate enough to be at home so was able to add some mustard and pickles. I realize that help is hard to find at the moment, but the workers should at least act a bit for professional instead of ignoring the customers while talking about their dates and places they have gone. read more

This place has thee best soft serve, so creamy and delicious! We will come again just for the ice cream! I had the chili cheese fries also and they were very yummy as well! Unfortunately the dining room was closed due to COVID mandated shut down so we had to eat in the parking lot but that was not a big deal for us. I like this place for 2 reasons: their chicken basket with fries and their ice cream desserts. Whenever I'm craving good chicken strips, this is my first choice in Tehachapi. I'm pretty picky when it comes to chicken strips and this place seems to satisfy that craving, plus their ranch sauce is good even though I'm sure it comes out of a tub. Their sundaes and floats are pretty dang good. Not the best I've ever had, but the best in Tehachapi, in my opinion. I also think their entrees are a little pricey, but the desserts are reasonably priced. Basically, I use this place to satisfy my every-once-in-awhile cravings. read more

Next...you can't add a extra patty of beef to anything...period. if I had 20 dollars to spend for a single patty of beef to a burger....nope. cannot be done. There is no available upcharge button on their cash register. We can put a man on the moon. Create driverless vehicles. But not upcharge for a extra patty or even extra cheese sauce or get this....extra chili. No way that you can't do this. No way. So what is happening here is they have a price point. Period. Anything you want cannot be done because there is no way for them to charge you for it. If I go to Starbucks I can modify the hell out of a drink order. It will cost me but it can be done. I wonder what their health code policy is? The health department stopped by today and they say we need to clean the prep area....unfortunately we do not have the ability to clean any other way than what the register says or my small minded boss says. Two words: Baby Burger. Okay, there is more to say than just baby burger, though the baby burgers are amazing. They give good service and their food tastes great except we have a nickname for them "salty burger"... their food is too salty :( For this reason I can rarely eat there and my kids are limited too. I've asked for no salt or less salt and it's still the same... too bad, I'd love to visit more often. read more

This was my first visit: I ordered a burger; no combo; no one in the drive through; 2 cars in the parking lot. I waited almost 5 minutes for the burger. I got home and it was soaked in their sauce. This place is good. They have a huge variety of burgers, dogs, burritos and other things. They have shakes, floats and freezes. The fries are really good, but they also have a variety of other sides. I am giving this place a solid four star. They have a sign outside bragging to the world that they are the pastrami leader, and let me tell you, they are more of a pastrami assistant coach for a juniors t-ball leauge. I got the collasal burger with pastrami. The burger patty itself wasn't aything amazing, a standard freezer patty lacking any real flavor, but that was fine since it was able to highlight the goodnss of the pastrami. The burger gets a strong one star. The crispy delicious crinckle cut fries with something that tasted like garlic salt seasoning gets a solid one star. Their fresh fruit milk shakes gets a solid one star. The fact that they have been open so long in BFE and still get a good local turn out gets them one solid star. This is my go to burger joint. If you're a fan of fry grill burgers you won't be disappointed. My family usually gets one of the many variations of burgers, bacon, Ortega, avocado, etc. My daughter thinks their fries are the best in town while my other daughter loves their fried mushrooms. My son loves the chili cheese fries. I like it all. A lot of the earlier reviews complain about rudeness and wrong orders. I can't say I've run into those problems. I think the employees are fine and they have never messed up one of my orders and let me tell you, we have some complicated orders when it comes to the burger fixings and side. There Pastrami Sandwich is pretty good but there sides need some work.I had there onion rings which I paid almost $4.00 for and I only got 9 small rings which is pricey for that amount plus they were mushy, I have also had there zucchini which is not much to talk about, also the mushrooms not good. Ordered a Pepsi with Light-Light ice. Received Pepsi with 3/4 full cup of ice. She proceeds to argue with me that I did not request light ice and then argues that 3/4 full is light ice. Ordered a burger with my 3/4 full cup of ice to go and got it for dine-in. Rule number 1 in customer service, listen then speak, and do not argue with the customer.
