The menu is easy to read and the soups are homemade as well as the breads and cookies

We have driven past the glider airport many times, and each time we say that we need to stop, check out the planes and have a bite to eat. Today we did! The food is simple but my husband and I were both pleased with our breakfasts. The service was very good and friendly. It's a very simple place with wooden tables and a counter to order at, but it's fun to watch the fliers land and take off. Best part: delicious homemade breads!

Best kept brunch secret in the Tehachapi area! Their food is great! Servers are so sweet!! Please remember to tip!! --- Everything is very fresh and they serve huge portions! Highly recommend getting their chili and also trying out their freshly made apple banana walnut and lemon blueberry breads! Very reasonably priced and beautiful views of the sailplanes gliding in and out of the airport. Plenty of parking and worth getting off the main roads to try this place out!

Very fun to take your kids to where they can see the plane gliders! The chilli was delicious and the boys loved picking out an ice cream. Workers were friendly.

Chili was very good, just the right amount of spices.

Ravens nest is a nice little Cafe attached to the glider port. Serving many food choices like handmade sandwiches, soups and salads. Definitely try the homemade chili with choice of bread which is made daily in house by the guy that took our order and made the food. I will be back again since I am a local resident.

Cute little place. I highly recommend you come 8n spring or winter as there is NO Air conditioner it is very warm in her today!!! I feel bad for the employees suffering in the heat masked. Terrible! The menu looks pretty good with the largest part being breakfast. I order A salad and half sandwich. I loooove all the airplane history and memorabilia all over the walls. Our order was taken and delivered quickly. Delicious RANCH!!! You know I love my ranch yall. The bread ...mmmmm my veggie sandwich was sooo good! Many goodies made from scratch! The crew here is so nice and this location has so .uch history!!! Fanily owned, here since the 70's! This location screams Tehachapi. Small, home town feel. I can't wait to come back on a cooler day with the family!

Great little grill at the glider port. Fresh ingredients. Very nice cook and waitress. We had a veggie omelette with fruit salad and homemade banana bread.

The interior is very pleasing and cozy, and the staff is extremely welcoming and kind. My partner and I were greeted with warm smiles and great service. We ordered a sandwich to share as they aren't shy with stacking ingredients in there. We also ordered 2 slices of bread, lemon and banana bread, and we were given an extra piece that was cut from the end of the loaf. Everything was very tasty and I only regret not taking some baked goods for the road.

First time checking this place out, and it was such a cozy, enjoyable place. The staff was so friendly and wonderful, the breakfast burrito with fresh fruit, and the French toast were both excellent. And you can't beat the views! There isn't a lot of seating, but they have outside and indoor seating. Will definitely be back!

While sipping my coffee and eating a delicious omelette...this is the view!

Folks, this place is a little gem you should take time to experience. Tucked here in the mountains is a lovely family business teaching the world's best pilots the fundamentals of flight. Air Force test pilots, NASA astronauts, and a list of aviation trailblazers you wouldn't believe have come here for glider training. The RV Park and Cafe make the entire operation one-of-a-kind. The food is homemade and served as if you are one of the family. Previous negative reviews do not reflect reality of what I experienced here. Seriously, let's wake up and see one another for the gifts we offer the world. This is one of those special gifts.

The turkey ciabatta was flavorful, had the right amount of meat, cheese & pesto to the bread ratio. The grilled cheese was good, the balsamic drizzle was missing, would have just made it better.. it was good without it. Our barista was focused on completing the orders, which is great for the traveler wanting to get back on the road, not so much for the friendly idle chitchatter! It's all good! We were there on a Sunday afternoon and the Sunday afternoon knitting club was there knitting and pearling away while they sipped delicious coffee and ate delicacies from the baked goods. We were there for the delicious turkey ciabatta sandwich. The bread is toasted and it just makes the turkey spinach and tomato covered with melted provolone so much more tasty I chatted a while with members of the knitting club while we waited for our sandwich. They're there every Sunday and they knit for people that have cancer who need hats to stay warm. It's a great community up here in Tehachapi. I was impressed with it several years ago when we held a dance recital here this coffee shop seems to be sort of a club of community activity. The only downside is it does take a while to get your order because they're busy, but that sandwich was worth waiting for, and it made the miles from Tehachapi to Mojave speed by

After driving in to town from Los Angeles, I told my husband I wanted to grab a couple of coffees before going to his office, but I wanted to support a small shop instead of going in the the grocery store where they have a coffee chain kiosk inside. I believe in supporting small business! We had tried to visit Old Isabella Coffee twice before, but it was later in the afternoon and they were closed. I decided to give them a pass and try again since it's earlier. But today, we arrived before 1pm and parked. I went up the stairs to their entry door and it seemed very dark inside. The door was locked, and only then did I realize the blinds were closed. I checked the posted hours and they close at 1pm daily, but apparently they closed early on this day. A Friday, in a town that often leans on "weekenders" for increased business volume. While looking for the posted hours I saw the very friendly sign which shows a revolver pointing forward so you can look down the barrel of the gun and they proudly announce that there's nothing inside worth dying for. How warm and inviting! Well I, for one, was really looking forward to an amazing coffee beverage "to die for".. but now I know this won't be my place locally. I've tried 3 times and found myself alone at their place of business. In retrospect, the 3 ladies at the Starbucks inside the Vons store had a LINE of people waiting to buy coffee, snacks and lunch. As I joined the line, I casually said "I guess this is the place for great coffees in town!" and two of the guys in line said "they're reliably open, the service is great and have decent hours during the day". They were wearing yellow vests, maybe guys working on the street improvements or employees from SCE? If i owned a small business in a small town, i would definitely be pandering to just this type of customer. Extend operating hours, offer discounts to these contractors to bring them in daily! The guys said they're at Starbucks more than once a day, every day. That's a lot of opportunity lost to the little, local guy. So while I'm not usually a Starbucks person, when in KRV apparently they will be my go-to from now on. I tried to support local, but wasn't getting the support in return.
