It's been a hot minute since I have been here. Just don't ever think of going. I wanted something somewhat healthy, so we decided on here. We all got the beef shawarma wraps, they didn't have pork available that day. Then, to have the healthy eating idea fly out the window, we ordered the garlic fries. We happened to come at a busy time so it took about 15 minutes to get our order. I sat and enjoyed their mint tea. The wraps were very good, the fries disappointing. They used to overload the garlic on them to where you would have it coming out your pores for days. This time not very much on them. We parked on the street and the aromal of delicious smelling cooking meat greeted our noses and pulled us around the corner like Toucan (Froot Loops commercials). Open kitchen where you can see & smell the food cooking. Nice &;friendly Staff and easy to read menu. Small dining area in front with a bigger one to the side, with outdoor seating. We stopped in for lunch and spent about $50 for two (no drinks), drank water. We both ordered Pitas (Beef & Chicken), large garlic fries, and an order of Falafel (4 pieces). Wow!! A fantastic huge serving of lamb shawarma in a heavenly pita, smothered in hummus and tazaki!! I enjoyed it at a cute table by a bead-curtained window looking out at the charming street corner. Delicious! Falafel pita wrap. The pita was melt in your mouth fresh, the tahini, lettuce, pickles, tomato was perfectly balanced with the crispy falafels covered with sesame seeds. The cummin came out and gave them a bold taste. Nice sized serving. Babaganouj was good along with some day old(er) pita. Nice seating on patio, but watch for wind. Food here was good! The lamb gyro had lots of meat and was tasty. I had the tabuleh chicken salad and it was also very good! The chicken was a bit dry but hey.. its sometimes difficult for some to cook chicken at a high heat. The garlic fries were good as well. all in all it was an all around great meal. read more

Ordered a falafel wrap along with garlic fries. The wrap had very little lettuce, almost no diced tomatoes and the hummus was too watery. It was prepared in a sloppy manner with hummus smeared on the outside of the lavash bread. The garlic fries were not crunchy on the outside, were hard on the inside and mostly soggy. They were tossed out. No cellular mobile payments accepted. It seems like locals enjoy coming here due to the lack of great Mediterranean eateries in Kern County. Used to work in Tehachapi, once or twice a week and although there are a lot of good spots to eat-once I found this one it was always my go to. Incredible food here. I was working near Tehachapi during my last strike team deployment and couldn't get enough of this place. Healthy portions and authentic! Entered just before closing time at 630 pm and picked up some scrumptious goodies - kebob with rice plate, a dozen dogmas also known as Grape Leaves and some Spinach pie. Trying to find a restaurant in the area that served vegan/gluten-free options for a large group was incredibly hard. When I called two weeks before our trip I spoke with the owner and he graciously offered to stay open later for us to have the dining room to ourselves. We were able to have everything served family style and it was great because we had minimal leftovers. I had emailed our order ahead of time which meant the dinner service ran very smoothly! I got so many compliments on the food. The baba ghanoush was very spicy and had so much garlic flavor it was one of my favorites! The chicken skewers also were grilled to perfection and with the added sauces had so much depth of flavor. Picked up lunch here based on other reviews and I'm glad I gave it a try. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and baba ghanouj w/pita chips. Oh yeah, this is some tasty food! The shawarma is well seasoned, soo good, and the baba ghanouj is delicious. The pita chips were nice & crispy without falling apart all over the place. They have a nice, cozy patio area and a somewhat small interior dining area. The owners were polite and quick to put my order together in the midst of their lunch rush. Street parking is right out front, up & down the street. The only downside to my experience was that the lid on my takeout baba ghanouj was SO hard to get off that I actually broke a nail trying to get it open. So, if you're more adept at that sort of thing than I, you'll be fine. read more
