Last night, I went to the St Patrick's Day dinner at Triassic and had the best time. Mike and Kirsten were delightful and honestly the corned beef and cabbage was the best I have ever tasted! There was a hint of sweetness to the corned beef and the cabbage was cooked to perfection. They gave a sale was a superb green dressing and the dessert was to die for! Always one of our favorites. Family owned and operated. We love the Portabella Mushroom grilled sandwich and the fresh salad dressing always good. Moessner Farms is great for a quick run in to pickup their jams or go in for lunch! All i have to say is jalapeño kiwi is a must! The people there are beyond pleasant and very helpful! There is only one thing that I really really don't like about this restaurant and that is that the only opening on the weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you are anywhere near Tehachapi, it is definitely worth your time and effort to get there and enjoy excellent menu. We've been there several times in the past two years and every time the food is just excellent. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Strangers replaces a very reasonable considering portion sizes. Definitely worth the time to visit this place. read more

We were excited about having a place nearby to get pastries, organic produce, pastries, etc. Unfortunately, big disappointment. We got there, yesterday, right when they opened and wandered around. We bought a few jars of jam, some sauerkraut, a few pastries. The two puff pastries were not fully cooked, I was opening the pastry and turned it over to undo the cling wrap and could see that the dough was uncooked (see pic). Checked the other and, same thing. I went to put away the sauerkraut and it looks like there is mold in there (see pic). So, kinda put off by this first experience. Will definitely not be going back soon. Pastries are out. Pickled stuff is out. Gonna try the jam this morning, fingers crossed. read more

Never had the pleasure of visiting their farm yet. The key word being "yet". Hope to rectify that someday. I have spotted them at Farmers Markets though. We were heading out of town and saw this place on line and decided to go over to check this place out. It's a little out of the way but I promise you, you won't be disappointed at all. They are super friendly and there is plenty of seating and a small outdoor patio. They sell several goodies inside from perserves, to canned goods they actually grow. They even have fresh baked goods also. My husband got pastrami and I got the portabello sandwhich, we got them with fries. We were so pleased, the pastrami is lean and tasty and the portabello mushroom sandwhich was wonderful as well. We have plans on returning again with our family. They are only open on the week end which is perfect for us. You do have to go down a dirt driveway. That didn't bother us but there is two entrances. Prior to our trip out to RB orchard, we stopped by this gem to grab some lunch. After reading all of the glowing reviews, I was so excited to take my hubs here and so happy we did! This place is kinda out of the way and away from shopping centers, which makes this place so quaint. Since we had never been here before, we were using google maps on my phone. Part way there, reception crapped out but thankfully came back in time to let me know where to turn. Because it's a two way road and people like to speed, it's a good idea to turn your signal on early. Once you enter the restaurant, you have the option of sitting wherever you'd like. We chose the high top tables, surrounded by a variety of jams, butter and much more. When we were seated, the wife(I think) brought us a couple menus. Since we got there after the lunch rush hour, our food came out pretty quick. We had just enough time to look around to see what sort of jams and other delicious items to get and when we got back to our table, our food was on it's way! I ordered the turkey harvest, which comes with turkey, caramelized onions and apples, and a side of wasabi mayo. Since I don't like wasabi, I asked for the chipotle mayo. The sandwich was absolutely delicious and so fresh! I was also given an option of soup, salad or mac salad and chose the tomato soup. I couldn't believe at how fresh and tasty the soup was! It reminded me of Panera Breads tomato basil soup, but without the heaviness of the cream. Along with the jams, butter, pickled veggies, they also sell their tomato soup and of course, put the ingredients of everything on the jars. My hubs ordered the pastrami sandwich with a side of mac salad, which was pretty good. It wasn't Zingermann's pastrami sandwich, but overall our meal was pretty good, filling and best of all, fresh! They also sell a bundle of lavender for $2 that is straight from their yard. I wish I would've gotten more, but am so happy they aren't too too far away from us. This is small-town dining at its best. Locatedown a dirt road about ten minutes outside the thriving metropolis of Tehachapi, this delightful little enterprise is so worth a visit! (Check hours! Currently 8/22 only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, as the owners do lots of catering during the week and keep limited cafe hours.) The small cafe has about 8 tables inside plus assorted seating in various little alcoves outside. There's a deli counter in front of the kitchen and a bit of county store surrounding some of the seating with fabulous fresh vegetables in season and home-made sauces and jams. The tomatoes are fantastic and I am a notorious non-tomato eater! Strawberry rhubarb jam is superb. So you order your lunch at the register and shortly it appears: fresh (really fresh!) with creative sides and simple presentation. Mike and his stepson, Al Attila, cater Triassic Vineyards Friday night Wine and Dine, with dining reservations ever-growing, sometimes to over 75 meals. His variety of meals never fail to please. Stopped by for some local honey and preserves. The honey was good BUT, the boysenberry jam was amazing! Also picked up some Lemon Marmalade that is a beautiful compliment to my homemade shortbread cookies. I had the Portabella Mushroom sandwich Portabella brushed with garlic olive oil and balsamic vinegar, roasted red bell peppers, provolone cheese and Parmesan sourdough bread with wasabi Mayo on the side. I savored every bite. My husband had the Reuben sandwich and found it very tasty. We came back to buy pickled beets, garlic pickles, sauerkraut, jam and apple pastry. When we tried the beets at our timeshare we were delighted with them. When we stopped to buy the items mentioned above the cafe was actually closed but Mike Moessner opened for us. Me and my girlfriend stopped here today for lunch on our way out of BV. we were so hungry I forgot to take pictures of the food. Oops! I got the turkey melt sandwich. It was grilled sourdough with Parmesan grilled into the bread. The sandwich had turkey, apples, caramelized onions, cheddar, and a wasabi cranberry mayo. My girlfriend got the portobello sandwich which was also on grilled sourdough. It had grilled portobello, and grilled red bell pepper with cheese and wasabi mayo. That wasabi mayo is absolutely delicious!!!! Service was good, the gal was nice. The restaurant was clean and seemed to be below the owners living quarters. My best description of Moessner Farms would be, "They tried." We arrived for dinner last weekend. They had the side patio set up for what looked like an outdoor concert, so we only had the front patio as an option. When we went in, a bunch of cooks and cashiers were standing around without their masks. They put them on as soon as we started to order. My mom had the daily special which was a chicken sandwich and a side of vegetable soup. The chicken sandwich was decent, fine, whatever adjective you want to use for average. The vegetable soup was weird. It basically consisted of broccoli and spinach in a chicken broth. There were no carrots, celery, or corn. I had the grilled chicken with what I thought was a marinade, but it turns out it was a tomato and olive mixture submerged in olive oil, served as a side, which I guess I was supposed to load onto the sandwich as desired. I ordered the side salad, which, like my mother's vegetable soup, was weird. It was like "build your own salad." The greens were on the right, two large wedges of tomato were on the left, and a bunch of alfalfa sprouts were in the middle. I just speared the greens with my fork, dipped them in the dressing (also on the side), and called it a day. The tomatoes should have been diced to make it more manageable. During our meal, there were flies everywhere. There were no insect-repelling lamps, and no one came out to ask how our meal tasted or whether we needed anything, like refills. We were so put off by the meal we didn't order dessert. read more
