The drive to the little suburb out in the hills of Stallion Springs was breathtaking! When we arrived we were greeted by a super nice waitress which started our dinner in a good place. My wife and I both ordered a burger ( cheeseburger) hers with fries you can order season fries or Steak fries. I had a Western Cheeseburger w/ onion rings. I was not expecting half pound patties and the fixing were outstanding and a great amount of all the fixings on both burgers. They also have a great beer selection and bar so you can order any drink you'd like. All in all a great drive, food and very cold pints of beer to go with our burgers. We've returned twice for the drive and the small town feel of Tehachapi and its quaint downtown where my wife loves to shop the small shops. read more

Great spot in Stallion Springs area of Tehachapi. We stopped in for lunch while on a day trip to the area. Great, attentive service and staff treated us like family. I love supporting these family owned restaurants and believe them to be the backbone of the communities where they reside. If we lived here, P Dubs would be OUR PLACE! The signature cocktails looked fun, there are plenty of TVs for multiple sporting events, the food was delicious and plentiful. I chose off the appetizer list the bacon wrapped grilled shrimp served with hand cut fries and it was PERFECT! The shrimp (4) were a medium size and had a perfect char and fresh taste. They are listed as a spicy snack, but when I requested them not spicy, the chef accommodated the request. They had a pleasant spice and the portion was perfect. I REALLY APPRECIATE dishes are made to order. I will always take fresh food, prepared to order, taking longer to arrive because it's being done right, not microwaved then heated on a grill. The fries were really good too! They offer both hand cut and shoestring. Hubby loves them crispy and thin, I like mine with some fluffy potato in the center. We both got what we like and enjoyed our fries. Hubs got the Dubs burger, plain an simple with just Swiss cheese and reported it was yummy! Years later we still go here weekly and lovin it. Most recently I tried their michelada. I have been searching high and low for a good michelada. Y'all, theirs is bomb. We were in Tehachapi on other business, and found P Dubs on Yelp for an early dinner. We had no idea it existed! It's a massive place, yet surprisingly comfortable and welcoming. We were seated right away, and did not wait long for our drinks or our meal. We had the fish and chips and it was a VERY generous serving and delicious! The extensive menus have a little of everything and I'm already planning my next meal there. We were pleased to see that they have so many activities as well. We are seniors and rarely go out. I'm a female and don't feel safe going into Lancaster/Palmdale, especially at night. I told my husband that I felt safe enough to go to P Dubs at night for a drink, or a game of pool. Great quiet pub with small town charm. My husband and I needed something easy and convenient and our waitress Emma was very friendly, attentive and kind. She was as much part of the experience as the food itself. I ordered the perfectly cooked and seasoned seared salmon with sautéed green beans and upgraded to onion rings. The onion rings impressed me, in that, the batter stayed on the rings while we ate them. Lol! My entree came with either soup or salad and I chose the soup of the day . A creamy chicken and vegetable soup which I expected it to be okay, maybe out of a can but it was made by the cook and tasted like the inside of a chicken pot pie, wow, great start! Everything was made with love and care. My husband chose a local beer with pulled pork sandwich and Tatar tots. The sandwich had a red cabbage slaw inside the sandwich and the pulled pork was so generous . We also got temped by the homemade chocolate peanut butter banana cream pie and it was well balanced and not too sweet. We were visiting a friend in the area and she recommended P Dubs for lunch - everything was outstanding! Crisp, fresh Cobb salad served on a chilled plate. The Frisco burger on Parmesan sourdough is probably the best burger I've had in my life - the burger patty was perfectly cooked, juicy, flavorful and generous. Great fries, great tots, outstanding service, generous portions, I can't say enough good things about it! I'd be a regular if it wasn't a 3 hour drive! I went to the Tehachapi location where the bowling alley is at. Not Stallion Springs. They have a great lunch & bowling special. Took the kiddos and the bowling attendant was great, but the rental shoes smelled really bad. I don't think they disinfect. My server in the bowling area was absent most of the time. I had to figure out how to put away my dishes in a distant tub and trash. Also, I had to chase down help for refills, pizza box and check. Costly and not the best experience. read more

Supposedly this is the best place in Tehachapi. All of the locals recommend it. Unfortunately, while the people are nice, the food is gross. We have tried 4 different items and all of them tasted like they were just microwaved straight out of the freezer. I could make 10 of the same wraps, with the same ingredients picked up at Walmart, for the same price as what they are selling 1. Atmosphere feels like a diner. The local decor is a nice nod to the community. I love the music, and appreciate the good vibe. The servers are the best part about P-Dubs! They are very friendly, and will check with the kitchen for allergy concerns which I really appreciate. The cocktails are also great! If I came here just for drinks, I'd be giving 5 stars. The menu is vast - lots of choices. Unfortunately, the food is not great, or is hit-or-miss. If you love deep fried food, you will probably enjoy the menu. Burgers are most often overcooked. I guess this restaurant is a play on Buffalo Wild Wings ("B Dubs"), but I think it could use some refinement. The salads are good, and so are the tacos. Beware the "lobster" tacos are langostino... which isn't bad, but is super disappointing when you think you're going to get lobster. The buffalo chicken wrap is consistently good! I really try to like P-Dubs. I appreciate the decor honoring the locale & community. The servers are wonderful. But the food really falls short. read more

Food has always been great. We used to have our parties there, in addition to Don Perico's. Service always great. However, now with the new location, we don't go. I won a $100 gift card for there months ago and still have it unused. Way too loud, not good for conversation dinners. You literally have to yell to talk to your table partners. DO NOT GO HERE. I called over the phone to order the pulled pork sandwich and the lady that answered had a bad attitude and was super rude. When I picked up the food it was even worse completely ignoring a few questions I had. I got home and I noticed that the sandwich was completely drenched in oil, my wife told me not to eat it because I would get food poisoning , me being really hungry I still ate it. The small mountain city of Tehachapi, CA has a brew pub that serves a wide variety of micro brews, along with "pub grub" type cuisine. It's know as P-Dubs Brew Pub, and it has quickly become a favorite watering hold and "food destination" of the Tehachapi locals. As you enter the restaurant, the main dining room is to the left, and offers lots of memorabilia and souvenirs for sale. The entrance to the kitchen can be seen behind the colorful red doors, with the "beer on tap" menu posted on the wall. Had I known before I was seated, the bar and the full dining room was to the right of the entrance, where if I'd been seated at the bar, I might have received friendlier service. P-Dubs Brew Pub menu is four pages long, and features all of your favorite "pub grub" selections. This is the second page of the menu, which showcases the "Burgers" which is usually my favorite section of the menu. Since it was late morning, I just "had" to go with the "Breakfast Burger." I was in the mood for a burger, and since I hadn't eaten breakfast, with the exception of a couple of oranges, I couldn't decide whether to go with breakfast or lunch. From the "Benchwarmer" section of the "Burgers" menu, the "Breakfast Burger" seemed like a great choice, so on this late Tuesday morning, the "Breakfast Burger" was my meal of choice. The menu describes the "Breakfast Burger" as, "Topped with a fried egg, hash browns, bacon, mayo and choice of cheese." The menu goes on to list that all burgers and sandwiches come with your choice of sides, including "natural cut" or shoestring fries, garlic mashed potatoes, tater tots, coleslaw or mixed fruit. As stated on the menu, the burger patty was 1/3 pound of Angus beef, cooked to medium, but I'm sure if you desired your burger cooked different, all you'd have to do is to ask your server. The burger was juicy, cooked perfectly cooked to medium, which seems to be the "default" for nearly everybody - medium is my "method" of choice - and placed on top of a brioche I "think" bun, but I'm not sure exactly the origin of the bun. The bun was dressed in mayonnaise, as listed on the menu, and a couple of pieces of bacon were haphazardly placed on top of the meat, along with a slab of hash brown potatoes, and a rather hard-fried egg. The bun was sort of shapeless, soggy and not at all attractive to the eye. OK, this is a "breakfast burger," and if you would be nursing a hangover, it would be perfect, and who would care about the presentation... but at a little after 11:00 on a Tuesday morning, and the fact that I hadn't enjoyed a beer for over 12 hours... this presentation wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Sorry... The fries were cooked perfectly to a slightly crispy golden brown on the outside, and chewy white inside, which definitely complemented the "Breakfast Burger" and perhaps saved the meal. The meal included a small cup of ranch dressing for dipping, which was perfect. The burger was juicy, and everything, including the hash brown slab and the bacon worked together to make for a great taste, but in the end, my "Breakfast Burger" turned out to be very forgettable, and the sloppy presentation sort of made the whole "breakfast burger" experience less than what it could have been. The fries were outstanding, and were the highlight of my meal. I'm sorry, but when I pay $22 plus change for a meal, I expect a great presentation, great food, and above all, friendly service. P-Dubs Brew Pub, and especially my server Kamryn didn't make this happen, so I will definitely scratch this restaurant off my "will be back" list during future visits to Tehachapi. If you've read the 400+ reviews I've posted on Yelp, you'll note the VAST majority of restaurants I've enjoyed and reviewed, I rate a 4 or 5 stars, as I tend to be very "easy" and "generous" when I dine at a restaurant. However, it was all I could do to rate P-Dubs 3 stars, considering the sloppy presentation of my "Breakfast Burger," the bitter "lemonaide" they called IPA, along with the haughty, indifferent service of my server. In a small town like Tehachapi, P-Dubs is the only "niche" in town that sells micro beer, along with "pub grub," and all they would have to do is to polish their "penny" a bit, and they could achieve a "stand alone" reputation as a destination "foodie go-to" in eastern Kern County. I went here because there are very few choices of meal places in Stallion Springs. I would recommend Papa's house over this particular establishment. The food wasn't that good and it felt more like a bar atmosphere. I was disappointed and I won't return. I do recommend Papa's house pizza or their hamburgers. Absolutely delicious. read more

We are local residents and for some reason we don't dine here very often and i don't know why. The service is pretty good, the atmosphere is comfortable, the dining room is clean and the food is always hot and fresh. I will be back soon.
