I usually avoid visiting a restaurant right after it opens, preferring to wait until they work out the kinks. However, on their second day of operation, my son asked me to pick up some food for him. When I arrived, I found out the registers weren't working, so it was cash only. I ordered the chicken flautas, which came with beans and rice. When I brought it home, my son--who eats just about anything--said, "Mom, this is bad." For $17, the portion of beans and rice was very small, and nothing had any flavor. He didn't even finish it, so I tried it myself and had to agree--it was bland and disappointing. A complete waste of money. Later, my daughter and her husband decided to give the restaurant a try despite my warning. They waited a few days, hoping things had improved. When they arrived, they were told to sit anywhere, but the young server ignored them entirely, avoiding eye contact. After 20 minutes, they still hadn't received a menu. Finally, an older lady came over to take their order, but they had to tell her they hadn't even gotten menus yet. The cook ended up bringing chips and salsa, but they still didn't have drinks. When drinks finally arrived, the older lady brought a strawberry fresca and a cucumber lime drink instead of the two horchatas they ordered. When they pointed out the mistake, she brought the horchatas, but they were flavorless and tasted like frothy milk. Frustrated, my daughter decided they should leave. They paid for their drinks, but just as they were about to go, their food was ready, so they took it to go. The flautas tasted like old fry oil, the rice had an odd chemical taste reminiscent of nail polish remover, and the burrito was plain and bland with very little filling. Overall, it was a hugely disappointing experience. Everyone was excited about this new restaurant, but the food and service were such a letdown. 12/20/24

It is the soft opening today first time trying. We were served chips and salsa right away. Green salsa. It has a nice spice I do prefer red. The salsa is thick, kinda warm, and has a hint of sour. Not sure if this is made fresh it kinda tastes like it might be from a jar? The chips are round store bought, bummer I love some fresh chips. We are ordering a few items today to try the variety. Sopes, Fajitas, Taco Plate, and a sampler. We also are trying the Strawberry AguaFresca and Mangoneadas. Sorry Friends... I don't see any Margaritas here, I hope that changes in the future!! This definetly has a mom's kitchen kind of feel. The bathroom is very clean and is a single unit. The staff has been very kind and accommodating. The food did take some time to.come out, but it is day 1 so we expected a wait for sure. The Strawberry Agua Fresca was thick, pulpy, cream, not our favorite but it did have a Strawberry milk vibe. The food was very slow to come out, good tortillas, ok flavor, the meat was a bit dry. They do make their own corn tortillas and they are very good. The Fajitas has a good flavor just needs a bit more salt. The meat is very dry. Kind of like Jerky. A+ for service. I was hoping for a bit more with the food.

Carne Asada plate

My coworkers and I had lunch there the other day and I ordered the carne Asada plate with corn tortillas. I also tried one El Pastore taco and it was delicious. I love the flavor of the char and the marinade spices There are homemade fresh there absolutely delicious. They're beans and rice. Have a good flavor and the service was very nice and the place is very clean. I also love the colorful plates and dishware. and I forgot to mention the chips and salsa were great and their house salsa was not too hot and spicy for us. I will definitely return and try some more delicious food.

Great food & service. Its my first time being here, so I tried a pablano taco plate - it came with three tacos and I had my choice of meats on each. I got 2 carnitas and an asada. Regular taco size but homemade tortillas were packed full. Asada was okay, carnitas was great - tender but crisped up on the flatiron like it should be. Salsas were tasty - next time I need to try the salsa verde....I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was, even chips & salsa were above average. Also - the place was spotless. Tables, floors, even the counters & windowsills ( yes, I notice ).

Chicken Flautas

We wanted to try the new establishment. With all the kinks that need to be ironed out aside, I wouldn't recommend the food. We won't be going back. Our table ordered 4 different dishes. Pictured is chicken flautas. The chicken tasted like it was boiled in water. Overall was Very bland and dry. Small portion of rice and beans. Other plates not shown were the green enchiladas. The sauce was overpowering, like a salsa was used. Other two plates were okay ; the Al Pastor Torta and fish tacos. All the items had an excess amount of lettuce and tomato. The Plus side is the chips and salsa was good, and all of the staff was kind. FYI : don't expect alcohol beverages. They have can and bottle sodas. I'd say give it some time before you try this establishment. Hopefully the food quality improves.

Chicken Fajitas

We ordered Chicken Fajitas, Pastor Sopes & a Fish Taco. The fajitas were excellent, best Mexican rice in Tehachapi too! The sopes were very flavorful and an added item to own town. The taco was ok, didn't care for the sauce on it. Service was very friendly and attentive! We'll be back!

Camarones a La Diabla and handmade tortillas. It is very authentic and delicious.

I came across this hidden gem while driving through this town. The food, music, and ambiance has the feeling of Old World Mexico. Everything was made here from the chips, salsa, and my favorite tortillas. Let's not forget the great customer service we received from the host, server, and the owner.

Great service and the food was delish. We got the Molajcaete Azteca and fresh made guacamole. They also have Frescas and the pina was yummy. Looking forward to coming back and trying something else.

Cute little spot, very clean and open space…read more We got there right when they opened for breakfast. My husband got the chilaquiles, he has they were flavorful and the chips were crispy & everything was fresh. I ordered the enchiladas, the sauce was tasty and the chicken was delicious. I was worried it would be boiled chicken but the chicken had onions and good spices. The rice was so yummy!! The margarita was a good size, perfectly sweet and the chamoy rim was a yummy touch. We were the only people in the restaurant, they open at 9 & we got there at 9:03. The waitress was friendly and attentive. We will be back for their $6 Monday Margarita specials and to try other dishes. The food tasted pretty authentic and the price point was great. Chilaquiles with rice & beans $12 (+$6 for meat) Enchiladas $18 Margarita $6 (Monday special)

Early this year our visit to Origen Mexican Cuisine....We decided to dine in instead of takeout,…read morethe carne en su jugo was absolutely packed with flavor, warm, savory, and the kind of dish that feels like true comfort food. Perfect! The wine-based cantarito paloma was a fun twist on a classic and beautifully presented. Great balance of citrus and spice with that Tajín rim but would prefer tequila instead of the fake stuff lol JUST SAYING... Service was friendly, not too attentive but ok, the ambiance was relaxed and catered to our kiddo by putting on a movie for him that was kind of them.... A great spot in San Dimas for some somewhat authentic mexican flavors....we would give it another shot again... see what else we try next time.

We paid over $80 for two tacos, a burrito, and two margaritas that were TWENTY SIX dollars each. They trick you by filling a mason jar with huge ice cubes and pouring diluted margarita inside. Even the mason jars weren't full; they're THAT cheap. If I wasn't here on a date and blinded by heart-eyes and the blissfully good mood that comes with that, I would have walked out when I saw the joke drink prices. Also the burrito was mediocre and had soggy small French fries inside as filler. Props to the owner of the business for getting all his personal friends to write the comically exaggerated 10/10 amazeballs reviews congratulating him by name on the opening. I ordered a queso fundido for $15 and although the flavor was there and was very cheesy I did not like the presentation of the plate. It also looked like it was reheated in the microwave and for $15 I do expect more. The El Cali burrito was $20 and the skirt steak was bad quality. It should have easy to chew but the chewing was never ending. The burrito was a bit messy as well from the beans as it had too much bean broth. We also were not offered any salsas for our food. I also wish the burrito could have been cut in half. Moving on to the good stuff was the passionfruit margarita. Although it was not my first option I decided to try it since I was told their frozen margaritas were not available today. The drink was strong and had a great passionfruit flavor which I loved. Presentation was beautifully. The strawberry tres leches were $10.50 but it was delicious! It was flavorful, was moist, had a good amount of crema, and had lots of strawberries! I would return just for their dessert slice. Service seemed rushed as the employee did not offer us any utensils for our cake slice and customers kept coming back asking for utensils. The large open seating is great but they do need more shade as the sun hits pretty hard in the lounging area. They also have a beautiful bar.

I found this place online based off some positive reviews. It was fairly packed for a Thursday evening but waited anyways thinking that would be a good sign. The hostess was very friendly and we were seated outside which wasn't an issue, it was the unsteady table that caused everything to shake and move while eating that was. As we were seated we were asked if we wanted chips, salsa and guac. Had we know it was a huge bowl of just guac for an extra charge we definitely would have passed. After returning with our drinks, the waitress began to take our order but in the middle of the order asked us to hold on for a moment and walked off. We then watched her for fifteen minutes seat two tables behind us. She took their drink and even food orders and it wasn't until after then she returned to our table. She stated the kitchen had a mix up and asked what we ordered. After telling her she never took our order she apologized saying it was busy. The food was just okay somewhat bland which was very disappointing but the drinks were good. After requesting the check a lady and her large two dogs walked by with only one being on the leash. The dog began to walk throughout the front of the restaurant off leash. As much as I love animals I did feel it was a bit unsafe especially considering how large the dog was. Before bringing the check our waitress stated she would be back after taking a picture with the dog. I feel the restaurant was overcrowded and overpriced for just okay food and service.
