Tish and us!!! - Three people are standing close together indoors, smiling at the camera. The person in the middle is wearing glasses and a festive Christmas sweater with decorations. The person on the left has dark hair, glasses, and earrings, while the person on the right has short dark hair and is wearing a light gray polo shirt. The background shows a window with a blurred outdoor scene, including trees and a sidewalk.

Can we just say "huge portions" and unbelievable prices?!? This was our first time here (and came back the next day!) The reason? Our server Tish! When we arrived, she was our person! She was so personable, likeable, and gave us a little tour of the place (it wasn't busy at the time so we got her all to ourselves --it seemed liked it!) Love the feel here, seems so peaceful! Will definitely be back and see her! When you go, please ask for Tish!

Pozole!!! - A large wooden bowl holds pozole, a Mexican soup made with meat, hominy corn, and vegetables in a red broth. The dish is garnished with lemon wedges and chopped cabbage, with a metal spoon partially submerged. The background shows a light-colored surface and some lemon pieces. The image emphasizes the hearty, flavorful nature of the pozole dish.

The BEST Pozole in town!!!! Wednesday's only!!!!! With all the fixings to include homemade tortilla chips!

Village Grill bling. - A black shirt featuring a Village Grill logo from Tehachapi, California, is hanging on a wall. The logo includes a train illustration and the text "Village Grill" with the year 1991. The shirt is displayed against a textured wall, with a green leafy plant partially visible in the foreground.

I'm sure the Tehachapi Mountain Festival challenges many restaurants. There is a large influx of people and we all want to eat. We watched the parade and wandered around Central Park. There were many food vendors, but we wanted to sit inside. We walked over to Village Grill. They were pretty busy, but we go a booth near the front. Our waitress brought our drinks quickly and took our order. TheTriple-Decker sounded good to us. It came with choices of regular or seasoned fries. We went regular. It seemed our food was taking a while when our waitress came by to explain there was a mixup, but the food was on its way. It arrived shortly. This is good, old, diner food. It is tasty and in good portions. The service is very home style too. They are looking to please. A good place to eat.

We are on our way to Death Valley and wanted a real breakfast and that's what we got at the VILLAGE GRILL. It was 9:00 AM on a Thursday and the joint was busy. The menu covers all possibilities and based on the other tables the portions are always large and tasty looking. I enjoyed the cinnamon roll french toast with two eggs and sausage links. Everything was very tasty. My wife enjoyed the Shake omelet. Hers also came with a entree size side of biscuit and gravy which we shared. The VG isn't fancy it is just great comfort food with friendly efficient service.

Menu - The menu page from Village Grill includes sections for appetizers, soups, and salads. Appetizers listed are onion rings, buffalo wings, zucchini sticks, cheese sticks, and quesadilla. The soups and salads section offers options such as grilled cod, Caesar salad, dinner or Caesar salad, Texas Cobb, and various specialty salads like chef and oriental chicken salad. Prices range from approximately $5.49 to $17.99. The menu also features descriptions of each dish and highlights options for sauces and sides.

Chile Verde Omelet. Would recommend!

Atmosphere: The Villiage Grill is the picture-perfect small-town diner. There is plenty of outdoor seating. Inside, you'll find a full-length bar and plenty of booths and tables. There isn't anything fancy at the Villiage Grill, but there doesn't need to be. Everyone was spaced out, and the employees were all wearing (fun) masks. Even though I was picking up a to-go order, I felt safe. Coffee: The coffee at the Village Grill was good. One of my favorite features of diners is when they offer the little flavored creamers to add-in. The Village Grill had french vanilla creamers if you wanted them. It was brewed hot and fresh, and I have no complaints. Food: The Village Grill menu has everything you want in a diner. There are the usual breakfast suspects from pancakes and omelets to the fun options like "South of Border" options that included the chile Verde omelet, huevos rancheros, and steak, breakfast enchiladas. I was feeling fun and decided to order the chile Verde omelet. It came with pork Chile Verde, cheese, tortillas, and I chose rice and beans. There was the option of hashbrowns instead of rice and beans or toast instead of a tortilla, but how often do you get those options? The Chile Verde omelet was good, in fact, one of the best diner omelets I've had in a while. There was plenty of pork chile, and the omelet was filling. The rice and beans were great, and the corn tortillas were delicious. There were a few bonus tortilla chips too. I haven't been that satisfied with a diner meal in a while.   Cost: For my Chile Verde omelet and coffee, it was $14. Service: The staff was all friendly, and my food was ready when I got there. Everyone was wearing masks, and I felt comfortable inside. In all, a great experience. Overall Thoughts/Would I Come Back? If you are looking for a small-town diner, I definitely suggest Village Grill in Tehachapi, CA.  You won't find much healthy there, but it's inexpensive and good food.

Tune amount on sourdough bread with seasoned fries and cornbread. I drizzled some honey and the fake butter. It was yummy.

Love the small town vibes. Signs on the window of all the local stuff happening, seats kind of dating back to the 90's maybe even 80's. The average age was 65urs old. It was fun to hear about the latest drama and people opinions of things while sitting. I ordered the tuna melt. Service was fast, friendly and checked up on us. Sourdough was crisp and crunchy, the tuna inside could have used more mayo. Your option of regular fries or seasoned. I chose seasoned Fries, which were hot and yummy. My wife ordered the sirloin with mushrooms. It was good. Corn bread was 4 out 5. I would recommend serving a a dollop of real butter instead of the fake butter with it. It was a little dry but overall I enjoyed it.

Service was great - unfortunately food was not. Over cooked veggies, bland dry fried chicken.

The restaurant is spacious, relaxing, and has a fireplace, maintaining a warm atmosphere. We were immediately asked if this was our first time, and then provided some recommendations. Food came fairly quickly - maybe a 15min wait. Server was attentive to the ongoing need for water (that's what happens when ordering the hottest level of spice). Many reviews on here talked about the chicken tikka masala - I agree with the positive comments. It was delicious. The portions are large because I was able to have two full plates and still take a lot home. Just one word of warning: be prepared to suffer if picking the hottest level of spice!

Mine didn't come out with theirs, so it was forgotten. It was busy tonight because not many places were open. We asked about my dish, and she said she would order it and it would take 10-15 minutes. My guys ate their food by the time my dish came. When it was set on the table, it was definitely not what I had in the past. I put one on my plate and it was stuffed with what I later found out from server what it was. She explained I wanted the Chicken Tikki Masala. My guys were already done eating. I said forget it, I was not wanting them to wait another 15 minutes. So I didn't eat tonight. What was brought to me did not look appealing. I waited all day for this meal, It's been a hot minute since we have been here. The guys enjoyed their dishes. My server apologized about the mistake. My wife and I both ordered a burger ( cheeseburger) hers with fries you can order season fries or Steak fries. I had a Western Cheeseburger w/ onion rings. They also have a great beer selection and bar so you can order any drink you'd like. All in all a great drive, food and very cold pints of beer to go with our burgers. I ordered their Blue cheese burger with onion rings, my daughter got a cheeseburger with fries, and my wife got their tri-tip sliders. Then we got their dessert, the biblical berry tart with a vanilla ice cream on top. Oh man it was so good. Great service with excellent food, thanks Lauren and P Dubs for a nice dinner.
