Place is a joke. Came in with my kids and the lady at the counter said a server will be right to help you. Waited about 10 minutes and a couple came in and got seated right away by a manager. The manager didn't ask who was waiting first but whatever I didn't mind maybe I'll get seated right away. Nope waited 5 more minutes and another couple came in, then the manager came back and asked if we were waiting and I said yeah for a while now and he just said okay and proceeded to sit the couple that just came in. I literally left immediately. Mind you the lady at the counter knew I was waiting all this time and never said a word. Ridiculous and rude service. Hope this place goes out of business. read more

This location closes whenever they please. They will have you wait in a drive thru full of people just to get to the speaker 30 minutes later and get turned down. This place has turned into a joke and would not recommend unless you want to be disappointed. read more

First time not good. we got there about 4:00pm. Got seated after waiting 15 mins. Server came over with water(we asked for) then didn't see anyone for another 20 mins. Ok, so I know going to Friendly's isn't going to be a 5 star restaurant, but you should at least get decent service and food here. I went to lunch today and ordered the "ultimate" grilled cheese which had 3 different cheeses on it, from which I asked them to remove 1 kind. So, I should've still had 2 kinds of cheese on it. As you can see from my picture, this "ultimate" grilled cheese was an ultimate failure. It doesn't even look like one slice was on this bread. The waitress was nice enough to attempt and get me a new one which wasn't any better than the first one unfortunately. Needless to say I was highly disappointed and ended up having soup and ice cream for lunch. I have worked in the restaurant business and to save a couple cents on friggin' cheese instead of making the customer happy will lose your customers for sure. read more

Update of previous post: How to get a tip. 1. Smile and acknowledge your customers. Ask if they would like a beverage. DONT say what do you want. 2. After beverage order and delivery then ASK politely if they are ready to order. DON'T again just stare and not bring drinks until right before meal. Especially at breakfast time. People want their coffee. 3. Hand them silverware. DONT throw a pile of napkins and silverware in the middle of the table. 4. After bringing meal check on your customers and ask if they would like anything else. DONT ignore them and never refill coffee cups and make them waive you down for condiments. 5. When you finally bring the check over after being stalked inform your customers if they should pay at register or if you will take care of it. DONT just drop and run. I hope this will help you in the future to get a tip more than $3.00 and honesty we were being very generous leaving that much. Or maybe forget all the above and get a job doing anything but customer service. read more

So, this review is only based on the experience of going into the restaurant, sitting at a table and then leaving. It had been a long evening and I was tired from a trying day. My journey led me to Friendly's because it's familiar (having grown up with Friendly's) and comforting and I thought maybe a shake or ice cream would be a nice end to the day. We entered the restaurant and it was late although the kitchen was open. The two girls working had a very in depth conversation on where to put us. With multiple open tables seemed like it wasn't a challenging decision but it involved conversation I really didn't care to be privy to. "I guess I can take them in my section" and so we were sat by the window. We sit down and the two girls go on with cleaning tables which they were doing prior to us interrupting their work flow. I suppose keeping clean tables is more important than helping customers. I was probably in a less then patient mood and so as I was not feeling very welcomed, decided to cut my losses and call it a night and left. The restaurant seemed clean and was super bright and just felt cold and uninviting (in terms of atmosphere). It wasn't the Friendly's of my youth but something modern. Waiter was super nice and also training so that was understood why service was a little slow. She said the cook was alone so food took longer than normal. She apologized for the wait. I'm more un-happy with my bland veggie burger. My company and I only received one tomato each. On an entire sandwich. I usually get atleast 2 tomato's at McDonald's. Now I know why most Friendly's locations are closing other than going bankrupt. My boyfriend and I wanted to go as this might be the only location around us that's still open. We waited for 15 minutes to get a table and no hostess was around. The place wasn't busy either so after that came around, we seated ourselves. We finally order after another 10 minutes waiting. My order came just as expected while my boyfriend's was totally screwed up. He ordered a specialty chicken finger sandwich only to find that it looked like a giant nugget a 6 year old would put on bread and it was thin. No sauce, nothing on it. This was not the first time this company screwed up our orders. So both of us agreed to speak with the manager about it and she had the WORST attitude and swore at him! The whole restaurant was looking at us as she started an argument and only came up with any excuse she could to avoid being held accountable for unsatisfied customers. After my boyfriend tried explaining multiple times about not getting what he ordered, she literally yelled "I'm not in the mood to listen to your bullshit! Your meals have been comped, now get out!" Then she walked away with her head over her hands and hid her nametag! We didn't even get to finish our food. Huge waste of our time and money with the most disgusting, rude service. We will not be coming back here again. If you are an unsatisfied customer, eat what you got even if it's not what you ordered or the managers will kick you out! read more

I went crazy when i saw friendlys drive thru. Ive seen friendlys before, but not a drive thru. At the time i didnt have friendlys for a few years, so we decided to go. I got a cheeseburger and fries. The burger was good, but i took away stars from my review because the bread was like not stale, but the outside was all flaky, like it was frozen or cold in the fridge- and it was taken out to be used so quick, for a hot burger...idk it was odd. Made my experience kind of disappointing. But whatever; besides that it was good for fast food. The fries are a cross between mcdonalds and burgerking. Skinny and the crunch of mcdonalds but texture like bk......I want to give it another chance, and also get iccream so, until next time! read more

The restaurant was empty. We waited a full 5 minutes to be seated, as the waitstaff was busy chatting with each other. The food came, but we were not given silverware. When we asked for the second time for silverware, we were told none was available because it was all in the dish washer. Our food was cold and without flavor. When our snotty waitress asked us how everything was, we told her the truth. Rather than try to make it right, she turned and walked away, and over her shoulder said she would send over the manager. The manager took care of the bill, since we couldn't eat the food anyway. As we walked out of the restaurant, several of the employees pointed at us and laughed. Unbelieveable. Was so exited when I saw this place last week because I used to love friendlys before they all shut down. I pulled up to the drive threw and placed my order for myself and my spouse. After placing order I was in the drive threw from 1:42pm till 2:08 so no where near fast food! The food was pretty much the same as I remember and was hot and fresh. I believe they have like an actual dinning room i might go back for that but as far as drive threw goes I will not be back because how long it took. read more

Started off with such potential...I have never seen such a rapid decline in a restaurant. I know Friendly's is not a 5 star, fine dining restaurant. We went there the first week it opened and all was great. On our second visit, the ice cream was freezer burnt- which was a bit disappointing. However, on our 3rd (and final) visit we both ordered chicken wraps to which took over 40 minutes to come out of the kitchen and both were wrong! They were sent back and when wraps arrived back at the table someone had taken them apart and reassembled, lettuce was wilted and dark brown as well as wraps crusty and falling apart. When mentioned to the server she was nice enough to try and bring them back. When wraps arrived at the table a 3rd time, much to our surprised they were unwrapped AGAIN, and STILL not correct. The waitress was very polite and we were not charged. However, the frustration and hour that we waisted without eating lunch is unforgivable. We went to the 99 up the road instead and had chicken wraps there in under 15 mins! With all the other restaurant choices in the area don't waste your time. read more

The food was okay. We took our 9 yr old there for his birthday dinner only to find out they were short staffed to sing him Happy Birthday. The waiter told us there would only be two of them singing and we said it was fine because we would join in but the check came with an apology from the waiter. These people are RACIST!! They did not help our group of 7 what so ever. We asked for a bigger table and they took 40 minutes to clean the table. The host was too busy cracking jokes about us to their non color costumers and coworkers.When we decide to order to go each employee watched us and didn't assist us, when other people came in AFTER us they assisted them instead. After ordering our food to go we waited another 30 minutes for a APPETIZER just to receive the wrong order. When we asked for a refund and spoke to the manager she was very rude and refused a refund. I came in on Sunday with my kids for a quick meal. Our server Jen was rude, abrasive and obnoxious. She was constantly yelling at and belittling her coworkers with no shortage of profanity both in front of customers (and behind the scenes, yes, we could hear her back there). We had been coming in once a week until this point but I don't feel that it is the best environment for my children. It makes me sad that one person could ruin our overall experience. Good help is hard to find but it will be even harder to keep good employees (and customers) if they keep staff like Jen. read more

I had such a great experience at this Friendly's location that I am sad to have to give it 3 stars. My server was super sweet, the food was yummy and hot, and I felt safe (it was my first time eating INSIDE a restaurant since the pandemic started!)...at first. I was there right before closing and when I was chatting with my family outside the restaurant after we left, we could see right inside and the people cleaning behind the fountain TOOK OFF THEIR MASKS!! How is this ok?? I mean, I'm glad they waited until we left, but any cough or sneeze would end up on the glasses hanging up behind the counter. The waitress cleaning the tables still had a mask on, but the people near the CLEAN dishes did not. This makes me feel sick, and very sad because I had really enjoyed my night until that point. Most unprofessional establishment I've been to in a LONG time. The manager came out and yelled at everyone who had been waiting 10+ minutes for their food to start waiting outside because they only had 2 employees working, as if that was our fault. Another customer and I started talking about the wait and an employee sitting on the bench inside, taking up space for customers who are now waiting outside, yelled at me for being rude talking about her coworkers instead of getting out and helping. Went to Friendly's this week because I used to like the food and ice cream. So I got there on a MONDAY, and the service was terrible. Took long to get a table even though there wasn't that many people there. Waiter was good but you could tell he was new to the job. I had to ask for a menu for my children because they never gave us. Food came wrong after waiting for a while. All of that happening and we were trying to still be positive because we like Friendly's. It was my daughter birthday and we polite ask the server if they would sing happy birthday for her because she had been asking all day about it. He was nice about and said "I WILL ASK THE MANAGER". A few minutes later they came and did the happy birthday song for the table next to us. So I saw the server from my table ask the manager to sing happy birthday for my daughter and all she said in the most rude way as possible is I'm too busy for this.( place was empty). So the server came to our table to apologize and that they couldn't sing a simple happy birthday for a child. This was the last time I ever eat at that place. No wonder most Friendly's are closing due to bad management. Definitely would not recommend taking your child to this place in the new Apex in Marlborough. read more

Friendly's has been re-imagined and updated. Such a pleasure to sit and be handed an ice cream menu with so many options and served in talk glasses and cute dessert cups. Service is very courteous and despite the number of customers who come for ice cream especially little ice cream lovers, it is very clean and the service remains very pleasant. They also have a breakfast, lunch & dinner menu that looks interesting. Also, there were computerized kiosks at every table to call your server, order more beverages & even children's games. There was a slot to pay your bill by credit card on the kiosks too. Family friendly fun atmosphere. A pleasure. read more

family and i stopped by for breakfast on saturday few weeks after the opening and the service was horrendous the hostess told us that she couldn't seat anyone by the windows because the wait staff covering the window area was on break (the place just opened at 8am and its 8:15ish when we arrived), so she sat us by the entrance where for the next hour we heard multiple people asking to be seated by the window and still the wait staff covering was on "break".. that's a nice break 15 minutes into the shift and rather clear she was told to say that although not sure who's brilliant idea this was and more importantly why. our waitress claimed to be with friendly's for long time yet we had to ask for napkins, and then for utensils, and then for coffee refill. we really hoped that new location would have it together but sadly it doesn't read more

Restaurant is absolutely terrible. Do not waste your time or money. Went on a Friday night at 7 PM with my wife and 7 year old. Waited about 5 minutes to be seated. After being seated we waited at our table for 15 minutes and no one person came over to see if we needed help. After 15 minutes I flagged down the waitress in our area. I was told someone will be right with you. Another five minutes and nothing. Out of nowhere a party of nine was seated directly behind us. Within seconds of their party sitting down they already had a waitress taking their drink order. Needless to say at that point we walked out. On the way out we stopped at the front desk to let the manager know. She could have cared less and just stood their with a dumb look on her face. It was obvious the waitress in our areas was more concerned with the tip she was going to receive from the party of nine and for that reason paid zero attention to us. Place is an absolute joke and managed horribly. There are so many great places to eat in this area. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT.
