Staff is friendly, ice cream is good. Place is disgusting. Tables dirty, counters dirty, serving area disgusting. Cold windy day. Not busy.

It's what you expect from b&j . But it's just cost way to much. The staff is good . Idk there's better options out there.

These dry , cold like chicken . Brisket was dry overcooked cold with one piece moist and decent . Mac and cheese was much better in past with stronger cheese flavors. The beans not much flavors, cold . Corn bread ok , but I thought corn bread had sweeter taste last visits. A whipped butter for corn bread would be nice offering I wasn't impressed and likely to be hesitant to return . The food looked, tasted like cooked hours before, and reheated? Chef and kitchen needs to get back to how food was expected by the founder before the founder of restaurant passed away . Nothing worse than cold brisket drying sitting for hours vs coming off the smoker hot like other bbq spots I visit. BT's bbq keep their brisket in hot storage smoker til kitchen slices for plates. The Staff asked three times how all was so they are attentive, but then , so attentiveness is not there is in the kitchen area. Who is watching plates coming out of kitchen for quality control ? Beer selection was decent.

They were always available to address any question or concern and were so adaptable to every plan change (down to just days before the event). They even functioned as our florist and arranged breathtaking floral displays to enhance the ambience. The catering staff and chef produced and provided great food that were the highlight of the event; I heard from everyone how much they enjoyed it (even had some on-call colleagues who gladly answered our calls because they knew they were going to be fed great food during their shift). For my husband's 70th birthday, we wanted to do a tented event in our back yard but we were afraid…read morethat we wouldn't find a caterer since the date we wanted was on Mother's Day weekend and we started looking only 2 months ahead. Joan called me back right away as she had a cancellation on the date we wanted. That was pure luck and the rest is history. Joan, her family and staff at Franklin Caterers were awesome to deal with. She made great suggestions for renting the tent and tables, took care of all the menu details as well as linens, and provided the perfect advice for setting up the bar and provided a bartender. Everyone was superbly professional, on-time, very communicative and we were able to enjoy the party with our guests which was our goal. We look forward to working with them again in the future.

My husband and I are both vegetarian and good food obsessed, so when we first started planning our wedding, we knew good food was a top priority. It was important to us to have a vegetarian wedding that was delicious and vegetable-focused (and not just boring pastas or tofu steaks). We also knew that lots of our guests were meat-eaters and we wanted to make sure everyone walked away excited about the food. Well, Saltbox completely pulled it off. They worked patiently with us at every step. We gave them the adjective "Ottolenghi-esque" at the beginning and a few other notes about our taste, and they ran with it from there, delivering a draft menu that was amazing and then revising it according to our feedback. Throughout, they were easy to work with and extremely professional, and they pulled off of the details on the day beautifully, with everyone leaving happily stuffed and thrilled. (They even accommodated our gluten-free and dairy-free guests with delicious alternatives.) The waitstaff was also fantastic and helped ensure that my husband and I got enough to eat amidst all the busy-ness and dancing. Now, just a few weeks later, we are constantly hearing from friends and family about how great the food was (the best they've ever had by some accounts), asking for Saltbox's name, and remarking about how they completely forgot that they were eating vegetarian for the night because every dish was so delicious. I have been to lots of weddings and frankly, most of the food is not memorable. Saltbox's food absolutely was.
