After two exhausting tours we decided on an early dinner and spotted the Friendly's sign. Since it's been years since we have been in one, we decided to take a chance. With ice cream for dessert, how bad could it be? Since we weren't overly hungry, we ordered a club sandwich and grilled cheese from the senior menu that included a free small sundae. Everything was great and we left quite satisfied. read more

Getting melted ice cream at an ice cream place is pretty disappointing. And when we brought it to the attention of our server she said there is nothing they can do about it. Like it was a normal thing and they didn't want to fix the problem. read more

Food was excellent, and the waitress kept coming and checking. Will visit again. I've was delicious

Food was excellent, staffing seems a little low here but our waitress hustled and earned her tip.

I went to Friendly's not too long ago, and I got some food and ice cream. My server was, Hayden Morris, and she was as nice as can be. It was one of the best experiences I've had in a friendly's. read more

We had the BLT and Happy Ending sundae on the senior menu. Delicious, affordable, and such a fun and cheerful atmosphere. Great server, and great clientele read more

My friends monster sundae did not look like a monster. It was a tad bit deformed. When she asked for them to remake it (to make it look like a monster), they rudely declined. Anyways. Fries were good. read more

Friendly's - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Friendly is a pretty well-known establishment. Their food is OK and their ice cream is decent but nothing fancy. The coffee and vanilla fribbles are very good. I stopped here twice this trip. Friday night I had a delightful woman. who took care of my order effectively and exuberantly. Sunday night I had a disinterested woman who was disengaged and didn't listen. read more

Great banana split like always. Service quick and efficient. Clean place to eat, every time we visit Gettysburg we stop by

Went into this store on a Sunday afternoon. We were waiting behind another family. We waited several minutes and no one ever said "we will be right with you" to the family in front of us. Employees kept walking by, not a word. We left. read more

The waitress was very sweet and the food was good and reasonably priced. the eggs and bacon. were perfectly cooked read more

I was GIDDY seeing a Friendly's in Gettysburg! They closed all the Ohio restaurants years ago! When the waitress was done prioritizing clearing tables over actually taking care of customers, I ordered my standard Fish-a-ma-jig and a Fribble. The food is great and as yummy as I remember from 20 years ago. The wait staff here could use someone to bus tables. These gals are far too busy during the lunch rush. read more

Menu needs to be updated. Ice cream doesn't match the picture sizes on menu. Very disappointing. read more

Probably one of the worst places I've been to this year, and really from start to the bitter end. We came here after every other place in Gettysburg was either an hour wait, or had a sign inside that said food would take an hour. Ridiculous. We were sat after a 5 minute wait. It was obvious that this was going to be a handful. There was a lady who looked like management going to tables without food asking what they ordered again. Yikes We were sat and put in drink order. 10minutes went by. We got our drinks. Put in our meal order. 35minutes went by - NO REFILL. Good came out - it was wrong. My order was for a Turkey BLT and a waffle fries upgrade. I received regular fries. 10 minutes went by and upon asking for a refill we then asked for checks to get going. I was charged for waffle fries. They had to take it off the bill. I wanted to get a milkshake to go - I was told that would be 5-10minutes. We were the only ones left in the store. Corporate should close this one. Or get a manager who knows what they're doing. read more

The staff is always attentive, friendly and pleasant to deal with. The restraint is always clean. My favorite place when we come to see family read more

Really good customer service I love the fact that there are still a few Friendly's restaurants still around. We stopped in, because it was an hour and a half wait at another local restaurant. We shared an appetizer of mini mozzarella sticks and a retro banana split. We told the waitress ahead of time that we would be ordering the ice cream. She brought it out to us at the perfect time without us needing to say when. I really wish there were more Friendly's around, but it's worth a drive to Gettysburg just the same. read more

My coworkers and I placed a pickup order for milkshakes at this location. I've never had a problem here but today I went to pick up the orders and they were talking crap about customizing the milkshakes and saying who tf ordered Oreo milkshakes with stuff added in. The girl who helped me was very nice and is always very sweet when I come in. read more

The food was perfect and the service was great and the ambulance was good and they go far above for your service

TERRIBLE experience. I will NEVER come back. Employees were not very friendly. Overall, HORRIBLE experience.

Some memories are better left alone. I haven't been to a Friendly's in years, and remember the good food and ice cream. Today I had a fish sandwich and coffee for lunch. Fish was good, sandwich was small. Coffee was fine. Fries were quite good. If fries are the highlight, that's not such a good meal. It wasn't; it was okay. For seventeen bucks I should've at least gotten coleslaw. read more

Went out of my way to have some friendly's, one of my favorite east coast places, and their doors were locked. Said they were open online. I was so disappointed!!! read more

We will never come back to this Friendly's in gettysburg. I will start out by saying the waitress was friendly and accommodating. I ordered a BLT and tomato soup my husband ordered a fish sandwich and clam chowder we were asked if we wanted something other than fries so we both said soup not knowing or being told it was $3 extra . My granddaughter's meal luckily we had a coupon for was $9 originally for boxed mac and cheese and one hot dog. My sandwich was very gross and dry the bread was toasted but tasted stale, it was very dry only one little sliver of mayonnaise that looked translucent like it was old mayonnaise . I sent it back and didn't get anything else just kept this small bowl of soup and ate that. Definitely not coming back! read more

Visiting Gettysburg park. Decided to have lunch at friendlys rather than fast food. Got seated and waited. After about ten-fifteen minutes decided to leave. Other than the hostess, no one acknowledged my presence. Their name may be friendly's, but they're anything but. read more

Back again and even better service. No one would ever mistake Friendly's for fine dining, but it's perfectly fine variety of American food and you can get healthy options if you ignore most of the options. They even have good specials running for combo meals. Our orders were ready and hot in good time and the service people were right on point. Nice to have a reliable option when there's really not much variety. read more

Had breakfast there Sunday morning . Just sucks not the cooks or the wait staff they're fine they just use the cheapest shit and then charge an arm and a leg for it . Terrible quality they're lucky kids have shit tastebuds all friendlys should really pack it up make them just ice cream stands. Trashhhhhhhh read more

Order entry form had a place for special instructions and I requested mayonnaise on the side but did not receive it. In the past, the same meal (same Friendly's location) was better. I may try another option, next time we're in town. read more

Currently waiting at the pick up window for an order that was ready 10 min ago. Staff does not bother to acknowledge my existence... A simple " I'll be right with you ." Would suffice. The guy who eventually helped me was very nice and was pretty much the only one running around and working . This was 25 min later Pretty sure the manager that night (lady) walked past me a few times but was to busy yapping away on the phone to help. Ice cream is great though read more

Ordered and paid for through Yelp. Food was ready when we got there and delicious. Cashier was very friendly.

It's wonderful to come to a town that has a Friendly's! Same great ice cream at reasonable prices and nostalgic ambiance!

Great ice cream but the the service is terrible! They haven't been answering there phones for weeks, they messed up my order which cost almost $100 and forgot my clam chowder($6) and apple sauce($4) so $10 worth of my meal is missing..they won't pick up there phones and this isn't the first time... food is always good but the service is so slow and lacking of enthusiasm that it's not worth eating here anymore. Great ice cream tho read more

Customer service: 5 stars: we came on memorial day after chilling in Gettysburg, we needed to eat before heading back out to some festivities. Our waitress was wonderful, i hate i dont remember her name. Food: 4.5: docking .5 stars because they screwed up my sundae. The burgers we ordered were delicious and the onions rings were worth the upgrade. Everything was good. Price point: 5 stars: it was afforable feeding a family of 4 that eats like a family of 8. I liked complimentary sundaes come with the kids meals. Cleanliness: 4.5 stars: not bad... Overall: its a nice spot to grab burgers, good food, and affordable to eat. I would come back. read more

Do any of the following apply to you: Not a vegan? Have no idea what a "foodie" is? Don't worry about reading nutrition labels? Could care less about of the cleanliness of your dining environment? If this speaks to you then coming to Friendly's in general is a great idea and this location is perfect because they don't care about any of that stuff either. More or less everything on the menu is in some capacity fried, cheesed, batter dipped or over sauced/mayoed to kingdom come. It also needs to be mentioned that things are easily a good 20% overpriced which is why it's idiotic to ever eat at any location without some type of kids eat free-15% off-20% off-$3 off of $15 spent coupon, etc. We rolled in on a Sunday afternoon last month and the place was packed. There was a small group waiting to be seated but every usable seat was taken. Notice how I said useable seat. That would be because around ¼ of the tables were left dirty as the place was badly understaffed in terms of servers and those same servers I guess were also expected to bus their own tables/vacuum the floors in their spare time. Forget South Carolina, it looked like Sherman and his men had sacked part of the dining room. After finally ordering, the food took over thirty minutes until everything was finally rendered which is ridiculous as nothing here is exactly Michelin Star quality in terms of flavor or in terms of complexity. Our server was nice and she was highly apologetic but she looked something like Scooby Doo from the original cartoon where his tail was tied together yet he was trying to go four directions at the same time as she tried to cover all her tables which were spread out over a large area not to mention trying to clear empty tables and push vacuum the floor. On a sidebar, the food was the typical least common denominator stuff that you would expect here so no stars added or deducted in this area but either way the wait was way too long and between being understaffed and dirty it equals a no-go for us in the future. read more
