Walk up window on the side of the building for handicap and pet owner customers. Seating areas on the side of the building and front porch. Within the main downtown. Friendly staff. Had the pleasure of stopping into this wonderful shop on our trip to Gettysburg. I loved the welcoming feel inside from the owner who let us know of the different flavors of ice cream he had available that day. I chose chocolate as a pretty basic treat however; it was extremely creamy and delicious! An additional bonus is the front porch is shaded for nice place to sit and enjoy a moment in the historical town. I will be back again on our next trip the battlefield. read more

Best ice cream hands down! The owner makes his own ice cream. The raspberry was incredible! We also tried the salted caramel, mint chip, almond joy, and coconut. Every flavor was outstanding. The enjoyment was enhanced by the great music and sitting on the porch while we ate our desserts. We enjoyed it so much, we brought our friends back for dessert two days later! read more

This wasn't our favorite ice cream place in Gettysburg but it was still very good. A little pricy but good ice cream with a number of interesting flavors. The shop is cute with souvenirs and old-fashioned candy, which was fun. They don't do shakes, which is a bummer, but they do have a number of dairy-free options for the lactose intolerant. We really loved this ice cream shop! The staff were so sweet and friendly to my kids. There's some seating inside but we enjoyed ours out in the front porch. All the flavors we got were delicious! We have a child with a cashew and pistachio allergy and they were able to tell us that he was safe to eat anything which was so helpful! We absolutely recommend this shop! read more

Loved the ice cream!! Almost better than the ice cream was the service. Friendly and kind and helpful people took and order and brought out the cones to the pick up window on the side of the building. We didn't have to go inside at all. The ice cream maker even came to check on our "salted caramel connoisseur " daughter to see how she liked it. She loves it of course and they gave her a sticker. Right on the main drag in downtown Gettysburg it's a great place to stop. read more

They have candy cigarettes here (now candy sticks)!!!! If you remember them, they're not exactly easy to find. I love the decor. They have a porch you can sit in that reminded me of the glider we had at my house when I was really little. I got the chocolate ice cream (which is homemade) and was definitely pleased with the chocolatey goodness. If you're in downtown Gettysburg, I highly recommend you stop in here especially if you're a nostalgia freak. read more

Saw the line at Mr. G's and made the decision to come here. We didn't know anything about either place, but I'm really glad we came here. The father and son duo working the store were incredibly nice and got our ice cream cups and cones to us quickly. They even had Vegan ice cream selections! We ate our ice cream on the porch and convinced another large group walking by to give this place a shot. They did and they were glad they listened to us. Make sure to stop in here and check it out. GO TRY THEIR DELISH ICE CREAM AND GELATO!! Was in town visiting the Gettysburg sites, and decided to grab some ice cream after dinner. I looked up ice cream places on yelp, and made note of a few of them. This place had a note saying no line, compared to Mr. G's or whatever the place is. As I was driving, I noticed a huge line out the door of that place, and decided to continue on 1/2-1 block to try this place, were there was a much smaller line. Based off the page on Yelp,I thought that it was more of soft serve place, but I the photos are deceiving; It is homemade ice cream and gelato. My initial instinct as usual is to try and true and trusted flavor, but one of the owners convinced me to try a flavor outside of my normal selection, Black Walnut Gelato. IT WAS AMAZING! It was so good. I am so glad that he mentioned it, and that I took the leap of faith. The family that runs the place is really really nice, and I am glad that I was able to end my day with such a delicious sweet treat. Took my ice cream, and ate it on the front porch. Glad that I decided that I didn't want to wait in line like everyone else and gave this place a try. read more

Not sure why more people aren't coming here but I'm glad it wasn't crowded. I had caramel latte ice cream in a waffle cone, and my partner had s'mores ice cream in a regular cone. Both were really good but the s'mores was actually my favorite. Cute antique shop with gifts and art works. Porch to hang out on. Perfect! read more

Good ice scream. I've had their chocolate peanut butter cup, as well as their strawberry cheesecake. Their selection may not be as big as other shops, but it's a thoughtful mix of flavors. They also have several gelatos available. My sister had their tiramisu gelato, and really liked it. Service was a bit rushed, even though there was only a couple people behind us. And indoor seating is limited, so anticipate sitting outside. Overall I would recommend checking it out. read more

Barbara and Steve are so precious, and their store is a sweet gem! They serve Italian ice, cream ice and gelato in wonderful flavors. We had orange cream ice which was like sunshine and billowy clouds and a perfect combination of ice and cream -- but better than ice cream. Great homemade ice cream. The selection isn't huge, but the flavor and quality is excellent. The prices are low for the portion sizes. They could easily charge more for the quality of the ice cream. Stopped in here for the first time yesterday and I am happy to say my friend & I were pleasantly surprised! When we first stepped in the whole shop smelled fantastic, and both of the owners thanked us for coming! Talk about amazing service!! I got the vegan Mocha Chip flavor and let me tell you, any type of store bought ice cream is no match for this stuff. I'm usually not a chocolate lover but my scoop was so delicious, it may have just converted me! After getting your ice cream sitting on the porch outside is wonderful and allows you to enjoy your scoop to the fullest. This place is well worth forgoing your normal ice cream spot to check out! read more

History

Established in 2015.

We've been in business since 1992 as picture framers of Lasting Impressions then added a military gift shop named Aces High Gallery in 1994. We moved to this location in 1999 and opened A Sentimental Journey B&B in 2001. We are very excited to add the homemade ice creams as Cone Sweet Cone to the family of businesses. The house was built in the 1920s on what was a Confederate sharpshooter's hideout during the Battle of Gettysburg 1863.

Meet the Business Owner: Barbara Shultz S.

From Fairfield and Gettysburg PA. graduated from Gettysburg High school in 1984 and from Millersville University with a Psychology degree in 1988. Practiced real estate for a couple of years before becoming a picture framer in 1992 She married Steve Shultz, had 3 children and opened a B&B in 2001 called A Sentimental Journey. She Started Cone Sweet Cone in the Fall of 2015.
