Found a true American classic at Lincoln Diner in Gettysburg. Rolled in with the family on a Sunday expecting a quick lunch... rolled out questioning every life decision. We ordered the Presidential Breakfast, and I swear it came with its own zip code. Pancakes, French toast, eggs over easy, sunny-side-up eggs, corned beef hash, bacon, sausage links... enough food to feed three hungry people--and it actually did. Every bite was worth it. Shoutout to Brenda for the awesome service and to the house coffee for being the best cup in town. Great prices, huge portions, and zero regrets... except maybe wearing jeans with a button. If Abe Lincoln ate here, he'd have needed a nap before writing the Gettysburg Address. read more

The Lincoln Diner was suggested by the clerk at the hotel I was staying at. I love diners -- it's one of the things I look for on road trips. I ordered the roast beef club sandwich which came with fries. It was huge! I had to keep holding it to squish it down enought to take a bite! It was also very good. The price were reasonable, and the service was good. I am glad that I chose to go there. read more

Huge menu and cheap. THE hangout for college kids. Our table was 20' from the kitchen and our plates came out cold (pancake) or luke warm at best (eggs, etc.). They even upcharge you for sour dough bread... I expect we just had a bad experience as this place couldn't survive if our experience was typical. Damages with tipo was $29. read more

It's your basic diner just off the tourist area in town. The place is clean and the prices are great. There appeared to be a lot of locals in here the morning we came in for lunch. Straight forward menu and friendly service all the way around. We had the Reuben and also the "Rachel" (turkey reuben) for lunch along with fries and onion rings. NOTE: lunch sandwiches do not automatically come with fries or onion rings or other sides to boot, those are additional. The restroom is located down a steep and narrow set of stairs. read more

I was here on a Sunday night about 6:00pm waitress was friendly but definitely a preoccupied teenager.Prices were well within reason. My food came out hot and in good time. I ordered the senior turkey meal. It had big chunks of turkey in it. Not sliced turkey breast. For flavor of the value I recommend this place. I will be returning. read more

Solid breakfast in a historic 1950s Silk City dining car. Quick, friendly service. I love the fact that the Gettysburg railroad track runs next to the building. The food was awesome. I love an old school diner. The staff is super friendly and the order was correct. I got a western omelette with a side of crispy bacon. It was perfect. I had an orange juice to drink. It's from the machine but still pretty good. Parking is either on the street or a very tight parking lot on the side of the diner. It can be tough to get in and out of there. Bathrooms are down stairs. Definitely try this one. Other reviews almost deterred me and I'm glad we went anyway! read more

Review The Lincoln Diner in Gettysburg,PA has an old fashioned lunch counter section and a regular dining section. The food selection is the same for both. There is breakfast all day, hours 7 am to 9 pm, and a family friendly atmosphere. No alcohol served here. First off, the coffee is really good. No fancy specialty coffee, but the flavor is indicative of a freshly ground beans. Our waitress was absolutely a scholar of the menu and knew every combination backwards and forwards. She and her trainee refilled drinks at the proper times, got us our food quickly (still hot), and was so nice! The menu was wide ranging from all day breakfast to a traditional steak dinner. The Lincoln Diner also has a Greek flair to it (the current owners are from Greece) with Gyros and Spanakopita available. Portions sizes were very large. I got a Gyro, wife a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, spaghetti and meatballs for the youngest, and breakfast French Toast and eggs for the oldest. Everybody agreed the food was delicious. A large selection of pies and cake was available for dessert (we couldn't have any-too full!). And the price was a just right fit: around $56 for the four of us. The walls are sparsely decorated with a couple paintings/prints with a fresh coat of paint. Country music is piped in while we were there (neither good or bad depending on your music taste). We had breakfast here w/ my boys and we all enjoyed our food and service. Sausage gravy had a good amount of sausage in it. This was satisfying and gravy over my home fries was a first a great idea. Ambiance was like a 50's diner w/an addition. The front part is nice and cool, the addition loses its luster. Bathroom is in the basement and isn't handicap accessible. read more

Stopped here while staying in Gettysburg. Located right behind our hotel - it was an easy walk in the morning. There is plenty of seating, not just a regular diner but also an extra seating area in the rear of the diner. Ordered a breakfast sandwich - went with scrapple egg and cheese. Everything you want from a diner on a Sunday morning! Boys were both happy with chocolate chip pancakes...absolutely loaded with chocolate chips. Bacon on the side. Happy boys. My wife had the Florentine Benedict. The hollandaise was very thick and resembled a cheese sauce...but the flavor was all there. I had a ham steak (it was charred and delicious...bone-in!) with 3 perfectly cooked sunny eggs, and hash brown with a ton of fried onions. The only thing I would do differently is grab a spicier scrapple vendor. Service was professional and friendly. The inside looked the part, too. Counter seats mixed in with booths and free tables. Ham n cheese omelette had no ham. When I mentioned this, all the cooks came out and stared at me. They never comped the ham cost. Omelette was a burnt fried egg. Someone teach the cooks what an actual omelette is. Very kitschy and dirty. Desserts were moldy. read more

If you want the waitresses' germs all over your food eat here!!!!! I contact this place on FB. The answer I got was no way from management. Food cold, waitress to busy eaten and coughing over everything. No refills on coffee! Wrote management and they said they would band the employees from eating for 8 hours! Would that make me happy? That's the responds? According to the person who answered (of course no name) Nothing about the fact that this waitress cough, sneezed and didn't wash her hands. Only that she is a wonderful employee. Funny how she was so busy eating that she forgot to put an order in. Both the waitress and who wrote the note, stated the customer were killing time, it was okay. Really, then why turn to us an tell us how unhappy they were. They made ever excuse they could think of. Stopped on a drive from Maryland to NY. Had a kid in the car craving chocolate chip pancakes. Beth, our server, was friendly and attentive, our food (omelette, French toast with bacon, chocolate chip and regular pancakes) was all delicious and cooked well. (I've definitely had some pretty bad diner omelettes and thankfully this one was perfect.) Despite the diner being super busy we were greeted, seated, and served promptly. And maybe it's because we're from NY, but we were amazed when our check came. Prices were incredibly reasonable. Putting this place on the list for future road trip stops. read more
