Stopped for a bite while traveling. We got hamburgers and they were very tasty. Even though my onion was small, it was strong enough in flavor that it didn't need to be any larger. Same for the fries - just perfect. On our way out we got a couple scoops of ice cream to go and ate them in the car. Original idea was to get back on the road while eating the ice cream - and then I realized I got mine in a cup. Oops! Ha ha. Well we got to enjoy the scenery. This Friendly's place just got a make up. So it definitely looks better than it used to. I'm not sure if this is under new management or not, but the service didn't improve much. My guess, the retained the same old people that didn't provide much of a service. One server, Angela, has been the best so far - every time I came in. She is polite, and has a service oriented mind being in a service oriented business like Friendly's. Rest of the servers are really slow. Out side there is a big parking spot. So you will have a place to park. Over all, it's not a bad place, but sometime it might depend on your luck how good of a service you may get. It is a family place. People are nice that do come here. First visit to a Friendly's in about 17 years. That was at the old Pequannock location and the service was always terrible there when I was a kid so my expectations were very low as that seemed to be an issue for the entire chain based on reviews for many, many other locations. I also remember that location being pretty dirty. With dirty tables and sticky floors. Service here was good for the most part aside from a bit of a wait for drinks. My only other complaint was the lack in variety of food. It seemed almost everything there was sandwiches/burgers. Got the bbq bacon burger it was good but not great. They got our order wrong and refused to change it, we requested to eat outside like others were doing and our food was brought out in a bag,unlike a tray and plates like others. When we were finally acknowledged (and I mean we had to practically wave and holler to stop being ignored) things went much better, but we were close to leaving for that. Only other complaint is please, please tell your staff not to spray cleaning products over the table and booths. The chemical products are then airborne and settle on the surrounding food. I have always loved friendly's. Last time I was there the scooper's arm was crusted with dried ice cream. Please instruct your employees to wash up after each scoop. This is a bigger and way busier location than the place in Morris Plains. On a recent Friday evening, the place was packed. Despite this, we immediately got a seat and our waiter came over right away. I ordered a strawberry lemonade which had real strawberries in it and was not too sweet. For my entree, I got a tuna melt with a side salad (very large) and fries. Our food came out very fast and was hot and tasty. The tuna melt was packed with tuna and celery and was nicely melted. It was pretty good actually. I did not get ice cream for dessert but my companion did. This is our new Friendlys restaurant since there aren't many about and I'm done with Morris Plains. read more

Answer yes result no. Waitress was so unpleasant my 4 1/2 year old grandson asked why she was mad. Drinks no straws. I had the Veggie Omelet and a side of one pancake. I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, the service was pleasant, courteous, and quick. My omelette was full of veggies. The eggs were fluffy and cooked nicely; however, you could tell it was made in some sort of mold. It sort of looked like one of those puffed omelettes you see on the infomercials. But, it was still delicious. The home fries were hot, fresh, crispy, and not drenched in oil. The pancake was just ok. Nothing to write home about. Let me first start off by saying this...my expectations of an enjoyable meal were already low. I was against the ropes with hunger and since it was Memorial Day Weekend I thought I would let the kids have some crappy food and ice cream (sounds like a great parent doesn't it). After checking out the menu I wondered why people consider this a cheap solution to eating. The prices were nothing special, we could have eaten healthier for about the same price. I chose one of those create your own meal/desert. The waitress was a train wreck. She was unprofessional, pretty gnarly and just plain strange. We placed the kids' orders and told her we needed a minute. That minute turned into about 15 and she finally found her way back to our table to take our order. Right after that, the kids' food came out. I overheard the table next door getting the bad news that they were out of Swiss cheese. Friendly's running out of Swiss cheese just seemed tacky to me. Our meal arrives and holy crap. I guess I didn't pay close attention to what I ordered. I know the place is not known for it's healthy choices, but I literally felt like they were trying to kill me with their combination of deep fried chicken, bacon, loads of sauce and buttered bread. Was it good? it was OK, but I could only eat half of it. I guess if I was 15 again I could eat like that, but not anymore. Later on when it came time to order my dessert the waitress tells me they are out of all soft serve ice cream. WTF? Hello Friendly's you serve ice cream, that's what you do. I was pissed. The desert I wanted involved soft serve so I had to settle. The waitress made no apologies, just laughed at her stupid self as she mumbled. Right after she left, I overheard yet another delivery of bad news. The couple to the left of us was told that their order had not gone through. They were clearly irritated. Our waitress was their waitress and she screwed up. When our dessert arrived, the waitress had gotten mine and my wife's wrong. So...she had to go back and make the correct ones for us. First, I'll just say that the food exceeded my expectations - I had a burger and, quite frankly, it was really, really good. My daughter loved her food because she ate it all and she will not eat food that she does not like. The ice cream was phenomenal. My only real criticism is the decor. Yeah, I know it's Friendly's, but an interior remodel would go a long way in my opinion. The waitstaff and hostess were also really nice. Just went there for lunch today after my friend and I got our bloodwork done since it was close to the lab and convient. We have eaten here a few times and normally our service is good but today our waitress ruined our experience. We have had Alga serve us before in the past and she was always nice but today she wasn't. We thought maybe she was just having a bad day but we started noticing that she was only like that with us and another young couple, no one else. Everyone else was much older and though we aren't young ourselves we also aren't elderly either. My friend went to ask her a question about something on the menu and she barked back with attitude. She then proceeded to ignore us pretty much during our whole time there. Our total dinning experience was over an hour and 90% of it was just sitting and waiting to order and get the check. She actually had us waiting so long to pay that I got up to pay at the register like I saw a few others doing. I went to complain to another worker about our unpleasant experience but as I was doing so, Alga finally shows up and runs over. I normally feel bad writing bad reviews and not tipping but I do so based off experience. If ur rude, have attitude and ignore ur customers than I'm sorry but ur not getting a tip. read more

We ordered Doordash from the Friendly's in Plymouth, MA. Doordash itself was excellent, the store itself forgot to package an entire entree which paid for. I called the Friendly's and the manager said the only thing she could do was refund the order or I could pick it up myself which defeats the whole purpose of Doordash as I couldn't leave my house. The manager was rude and had a "could care less" attitude. I ended up having to pay more by ordering from a different restaurant which was fine since we'll never do business with Friendly's again, through Doordash or any other way.
