I wanted some ice cream one day and looked over the menu and was impressed by some of the sundae offerings. There is a counter if you just want to pick up some ice cream, but I wanted to eat inside so grabbed a table. I wanted to try the salted caramel popcorn sundae with a few modifications (like getting butter pecan) but almonds were not available. In the in person menu, they weren't listed, but they were listed on the website for this location, so that was the only big issue (website is not synced to individual locations). The sundaes are definitely enough to share and came out quickly. For a reasonable price, it was a great dessert and I look forward to more sweet treats in the future. read more

Parking lot is always a plus but when traveling with kids it is spot on. I think Friendly's is underrated. The kids meal with a drink of choice, a meal and their ice cream for 7.99. That is pretty clutch to me. And double that for two kids. You cannot beat that. I got the chicken fajitas quesadilla and it was great too. I stopped by Friendly's this evening to get a small/"happy ending" hot fudge sundae from the walk up counter. The last two times my husband and I got sundaes from here, there was very little hot fudge, so tonight I requested that they add a little bit more. I looked at my receipt and noticed that I was charged $0.99 for "a little more" hot fudge! I said something to the guy who took my order and he just kind of looked at me and shrugged his shoulders. I told him the last two times we had gotten sundaes there wasn't much hot fudge on them. He told me that wasn't true. HOW WOULD HE EVEN KNOW THAT?? Ridiculous! We come here because it's close to our home, but the place is really kind of disgusting and dirty inside. The next time we have a craving for ice cream, we may need to go elsewhere. read more

Happy we came for the old time nostalgia but it really was a sub-par experience. Thats completely fine so long as you're prepared for what you're walking into, which i wasn't. First of all the menu is all kinds of concoctions of the same foods mixed together in different ways. It definitely was not healthy. And that's ok. But the service wasn't great. Maybe they were short staffed. Maybe they weren't experienced servers. But it took a long time to place our orders sacs when the did came a while dish was missing. Since the severe didn't come back to check on us until our meals were finished - and there was no one else around to ask - we just went without the meal. Then we asked for boxes to bring a few leftovers home and the waitress took my plate away and threw away my food. They were kind enough to get me a new batch of fries to bring home but it prolonged the whole process. Maybe we'd come back for the express checkout ice cream at the front door but I don't think we'll be back to the restaurant anytime soon. read more

Went here for dinner tonight with friends. This was my first time here in over a decade. Friendly's is a good place for interesting takes on American fare. I ordered the Cheese Skirt Burger, so named because they out extra cheese on the burger so it goes onto the fryer and gets fried itself. There was thousand island Dressing on it that made it taste even better! I ordered off the Happy Ending Menu, which allowed me to get a free sundae after. I ordered mint chocolate chip ice cream and truly enjoyed it. Friendly's is a great place to go with friends for some good food and great ice cream! read more

They really need to invest in a better vent because the strong smell of grease made me nauseous! The restaurant was clean and everyone was polite and welcoming but the stench was just too much! The food here is nothing to write home about but I wasn't expecting anything different. They have a lot of options on the menu, but we stuck to the basics! My burger was way over cooked, fries were hard and the chicken fingers were dry. The only thing that I enjoyed was the ice cream. I ended up taking it to go because I couldn't stand the smell of that place for another second. If you're starving and have no other choice, then this place is ok for a quick bite. read more

Pretty standard Friendly's experience. Came for Father's Day with multiple young children, so I give the waitress a lot of credit and forgiveness for forgetting a few things throughout the meal. They were able to accommodate our large party without issues. Their summer menu is actually really neat with a few lobster dishes. The lobster/shrimp quesadilla wasn't great but it was good for what it was. The lobster roll also was just fine but a good way to get something different at Friendly's. read more

We wanted something easy for dinner and picked Friendly's. My wife had the chicken fingers which were a little overcooked and daughter got the mac 'n cheese. Both were satisfactory. I had the Grilled Chicken Mozza SuperMelt. It was WAY too cheesy for me. I actually had chills from eating it. The fries were good and the service was also up to par. Came to the area for an errand, and decided to go to Friendly's for lunch. I ordered a fish sandwich and coffee, and my daughter the mac and cheese. Service was great and friendly. Our food came quickly, and they were delicious. I love my fish sandwich! It was one of the best I have ever tasted. I will come back to this restaurant for the fish sandwich again. I'm glad this is the closest restaurant to my school because I come here all the time! The mini mozzarella sticks are my favorite and the ice cream is so good! The appetizers are enough to enjoy as a meal or to share with others if you get an entree as well. I've never had an order come out wrong but I took one star off because they have frequently been out of the ice cream I wanted. They have so many flavors though so it's usually okay. (Tip: it's not on the topping list but you can get a warm brownie with your ice cream for an extra charge and it's so tasty!) The service is great. It doesn't take too long and the staff is usually very friendly. At this point I ask for a specific waitress by name because she's so great! I haven't been to (this) Friendly's in 27 years, but when I was back in Morristown on business recently, I decided it was an opportunity to remember good food and ice cream. The night I went, the restaurant wasn't very busy, but I was quickly approached by Remee who seated me and took my order. In a moment of nostalgia, I ordered the fried clams with fries and Cole slaw. My order came out in a reasonable amount of time and the food was... OK. You go to Friendly's knowing you're getting coffee shop food (think Denny's) so it's not super high-end. It's more fast, easy, and comfort food. The clams and fries were OK. The Cole slaw was already portioned out into a small lidded plastic cup and was kind of blah, so that was a little disappointing. The iced tea I'd ordered was brewed and not fountain, so I enjoyed that. After finishing my dinner, Remee asked if I would like any dessert. My childhood memories welled up and I wound up ordering a cup (as opposed to bowl) sized Reese's Pieces Sundae. It didn't disappoint my memories. For the smaller size, it had plenty of ice cream, sauces, whipped cream, and (of course) Reese's Pieces! I almost couldn't finish it! (ALMOST! LOL) If I still lived in the area, I probably wouldn't be a regular customer because the overall food experience was just OK. For a one-time visit after many years, it was a decent experience. I would probably recommend Friendly's (this location AND the entire chain) up their game and try a little harder before it's too late.
