As a fun activity, my wife's company had a blind taste test of local ice cream shops. Scoop Station beat out all the others. Needless to say, we needed to stop by! I can report back that the ice cream was as delicious as the judges said. I got a medium sized cup with butter pecan and vanilla. Both were very good, the vanilla was so creamy! My wife had the peanut butter and loved it as well. This is a pretty small place on Speedwell Ave, but they have lots of flavors to choose from. There's not much seating inside, but there's a few benches outside. If you love ice cream, stop and check this place out! read more

Awesome little, local ice cream shop that was brimming with people on a Friday evening. The service moved the line along quickly and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I opted for a cup of the peanut butter pie which was bursting with peanut butter flavor in the ice cream and had crushed peanut butter cups and crumbled graham crackers. A real winner! Others in the group went for a cup of Cookie Monster and a cup of Kitchen Sink while one other in our group had a soft serve twist topped with M&Ms. Portions were quite reasonable and the prices were beyond fair for the good value and quality this ice cream shop is pumping out. I went with the salted caramel cold brew: really sweet, and less coffee flavor than ideal. They don't make the flavors themselves, so I would expect some inconsistency in the balance between creaminess and sugariness from flavor to flavor. Stopped in here for some ice cream after steak at the Arthur's down the road. They have sundaes, scoops, cones, twists, banana splits, floats, ice cream sandwiches, and cakes. Bubble tea, too - which I wish I'd tried. Lots of flavors (see pictures of the menu). The medium is a little over $5, two flavors - a scoop of the cherry vanilla was smooth and simple, and the chocolate marshmallow was a sticky, gooey delightful bit. The small that my coworker received was almost the same size... so not sure about value, but hey.. .two flavors to try. Ice cream was a bit on the soft side, definitely. I'm not even joking. It was a hot day and this was the perfect dessert to cool off. And nothing is better than this Banana & Cookies n Cream combination. The Banana tasted pretty authentic (and not like a Laffy Taffy) which is a big plus for me, and you can never go wrong with Cookies n Cream. Summer appreciation post for Scoop Station! Temps have been on the up, and all of the frozen treats at Scoop Station hit the spot. They have a large selection of flavors and toppings, plus other fun goodies like boba, custard, gelato, etc. The gelato is absolutely incredible. It's a very large portion -- two big layers of custard and two big layers of italian ice. I tried the creamsicle Italian ice on special and it was out. of. this. world. Next time I'd even order this on it's own, and I hope they keep it in the rotation! There weren't too many other ice flavors, so hopefully this summer there will be more in the mix. I briefly heard the first Scoop Station was opening in Morris plains. I was able to be in the area for work. Loved that there was plenty of parking behind the store. From the moment you walk in, you feel joyful to stop and treat yourself to a well desire treat. I chose 2 scoops of cotton candy. Got to the car figured I would eat it on the way home. There's no question that scoop station definitely belongs in this section of Morris Plains, and the name is perfect! Resting across from the train station, it's guaranteed to be a hit as the summer kicks off. I figured I would stop by during some downtime any late afternoon on a Thursday. Even then there was a small gathering of people ready to try some of the frozen treats! The staff was very accommodating and answered all of my questions. The girl who served me was extremely nice and thanked me for my patronage. I went with vanilla with raspberry (no sugar added) and cotton candy. It was very creamy and good. Most of the flavors displayed were nothing that surprised me or were out of the ordinary for other ice cream establishments. After I checked out a noticed "Swirls" on the menu. I sampled the pineapple and that seems to be jackpot item at Scoop Station. The Swirls are soft serve ice cream - one of my favorites. Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of pineapple but I can see other flavors being huge successes. Scoop Station is a welcome addition and I plan to come again! read more

Came in to grab some bubble tea. This is an ice cream place that just so happens to sell bubble tea- and that's what the bubble tea tastes like. An afterthought. Been coming on and off since opening. It's a great spot, in theory, to cap off a summer evening. Ice cream is ok. Some of the flavors on their own aren't as good as other places. With toppings, it helps round out the flavor. The peanut butter pie is great though and mango sorbet. Staff is hit or miss with their customer service like they want the day to end and get out of there. My daughter had a cone with the paper wrapping from another cone it was in. I mentioned to the staff and was told, "Oh it's okay you can eat it." That's not the point she's eating paper. The owner, however, I found to be not friendly at all and pretty rude. Like you're inconveniencing her just by being there. Not really welcoming. This makes the already average ice cream taste even more mediocre. In a pinch, since we are local I guess it's better than store-bought, but ultimately think it's worth it to drive a town or two over for a better experience both in taste and hospitality. read more

Stopped in here during a night out in Morristown. Advantage: it's walkable from the various bars you may be visiting. Or if you brought kids, from whatever restaurant of choice. I did note to my friends before walking in that I have so many good options near me, it would take something AMAZING here to make me drive past those other 5 star places I know and love. But anyway, here we were, so here I went. Perused the various scoop flavors and picked out three that did not have food coloring - my main reason for the star deduction is that most flavors do have artificial stuff in them! The other piece is that there are relatively few flavors on offer at any time... So anyway: * Death by chocolate: It's quite chocolatey and has chunks of brownie and fudge. I know I can never duplicate Christina's in Cambridge MA, but this is more than almost any place around here will get into a scoop. So if that's your vibe, this will definitely satisfy. * Campfire s'mores: Holy wow. Graham cracker ice cream! Not actual crackers, but the flavor is SPOT on, and that really makes this unbeatable if they've got it. * Pretty sure last flavor was sea salt caramel truffle, making all 3 of my flavors seasonal. I will say for all the caramel that should be in it, it didn't really have a flavor that distinct from the others, just a light caramel tone to the ice cream overall. I should add that they didn't even offer a cone, went straight to the cup. Which is fine by me if the cone isn't all-natural (often means homemade). But usually they at least ask. Final verdict: If in Morristown I would gladly come here again, but that's as far as I can go for now. If they're reading this and they want to get away from artificial colors and (if any) flavors... I LOVE this place! My company ordered me an ice cream cake for a celebration. It was hands down the best ice cream cake I have ever tasted! And I have tasted a lot, believe me. The exterior of the cake was absolutely beautiful with intricate detailing on the borders. It was butter pecan which was incredibly flavorful and smooth and perfectly paired with an exquisite vanilla with chocolate cookie crunch in the middle. It was topped with fluffy whipped cream and cherries. I brought some home (how could I not) and it froze really well and tasted just as good weeks later. Really cute store! Great that they have some outdoor seating for patrons. We tried a milkshake (~$6) and bubble tea (~$7). I thought the price for regular sized drinks was steep. The slush matcha tea has great depth and bitterness from real tea. A+ on that. I would say the bubbles are too soft and lack the flavor and chew of authentic Taiwanese ones. The milkshake was a tad too sweet and pretty runny, too much milk maybe. I'd love to support a local business so I'll give this place another try, they opened this year and are still hiring, so I'm hoping they will refine things as they gain experience and feedback. read more
