Cozy bakery with a nice mix of traditional and modernized Asian pastries. It's cash only unless you spend at least $10. Overall, pastries were good and service was friendly, though I wasn't blown away with the taste (visually, they look too notch though!) read more

Small, clean bakery in the same shopping center as Shan Shan noodles. Interior has racks of traditional Asian style breads, cakes and pastries as well as some seating. Menu has an array of teas and assorted drinks. Service was very friendly and helpful. Since I was too full from eating at Shan Shan prior, just picked up 1 taro and 1 red bean bun. They were larger than the average Asian bakery bun. The interior was very dense, moist and full of rich filling. Both the red bean and taro were not too sweet and equally delicious. Will need to try other items next time. read more

We made a quick trip to this store to grab some bakery items. The store is pretty big with couple of tables available to dine in at the store. It was relatively clean. There were limited number of products, probably due to Easter Sunday. We saw different kinds of bread items, some single slice cakes and few Easter special pastries. We picked a couple of buns to go. The price was fair. The lady at the register was friendly and helped us to checkout quickly. read more

A small bakery at Parsippany NJ. It's located inside a mini Asian plaza. Limited selection of breads, decoration cakes for birthdays. It also has drink menu. I decided to purchased a soboro just to try. It tasted ok. Nothing special. They should have baked it a little longer because the color on the bread was really light(?). The staff member was nice. Price was reasonable. Some tables inside if you would like to sit and enjoy the snack and drink. read more

Sweet Shansations - Chiffon cake with almond pieces - Desserts Near Me - Parsippany, New Jersey

Amazing authentic dessert treats! The owner very nice and helpful describing desserts and recommendations. A gem of a place!

I specifically came here to procure a total of 6 egg tarts on a weekday afternoon. Each pack of two tarts was priced at $4, which is on par with the pricing of the only other local Asian market (Kamman) that sells egg tarts. The ridges on the tarts are crumby, and the actual custard is soft and eggy. That egg custard tart itself really hits the spot taste-wise and texture-wise!! The variety of baked goods doesn't blow anything out of the water, but I liked that they have staple sweets like pineapple buns, red bean, sesame breads, new lava cakes, as well as savory scallion buns. They also sell cookies, cakes and boba. The boba is not much to write home about.. This is a casual no-frills place for a get-together with ample seating area. read more

Granted, I've only been here once, but right now I'm wavering on a lot for this review. I absolutely love Shan Shan Noodles so I had high hopes for their dessert place, and maybe I oversold myself on that. First of all, don't touch! I was poking the plastic-wrapped pastries to see what was soft, turning them over to see what ingredients, and was told to use the tongs. Really, I need tongs for an already wrapped pastry? But I don't want to intrude on their cleanliness, so I include this here as a note that you will need to mind the same! (It's a very clean looking place. It fits the vibe.) More than the prompt if abrupt conversation, the food hasn't convinced me yet. The storekeep vouched it's all made there, and I buy it. Chinese desserts are not intended to be as sweet as Western, and that is definitely the case here. The sweetest was the one I got as a non-dessert! The shredded pork cream roll, the cream really made it sweet, overtaking the salty shredded meat on top (which is so cool to see). The red bean and black sesame rolls were hard to place as dessert vs. appetizer, and I acknowledge that's just me. The date squares were interesting but a little less than I hoped - a little too puffy, a piece of date or two inside but it should be many pieces or no pieces IMO to avoid setting expectations. Plus one bite had a really weird bitter taste for some reason. This review could go up or down. Next time I Shan Shan, I will Sweet Shan along with it and pick up some more items to nail down my thoughts. read more

Cakes are delicious and close by. I had no idea they sold cakes. I thought it was a candy shop. Will return

I returned several times after that top rated first visit and none really lived up to the original. Everything is still fresh and clean, but the textures never seem quite right in the baked goods nor the fillings. The best items are definitely the savory, bready items or cookies. I'm not sure I'm in love with the boba or tea/flavors they use either. read more

I was craving bubble tea and sweets but did not want to try all the way to Bergen County. When I searched I found the spot, which I didn't know opened up so close to me. My brother and I checked it out and I'm so happy we did. We went a little too happy when we went. We got the blueberry coconut cake, black sesame roll, matcha cookies, coconut cream bread, matcha cake roll plus matcha bubble tea and the bubble tea with pudding. We shared with other family members because we were so excited there's a place so close to home. The cakes were so moist and fluffy. They were the perfect texture. The best part, the bubble tea is honestly the best bubble tea in the morris county area. No need to drive to bergen anymore when there's a spot right here. The boba was the perfect chew and the one with pudding, it was very refreshing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

So happy there is an Asian bakery in the area with freshly made pastries and baked goods. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and they had a promotion where you buy 6 items and get one free. We got the: -red bean bun - taro bun - coconut twist pastry - egg tarts - blueberry sponge cake slice - mango mousse cake slice - hot dog pastry The pastries were fresh, delicious and not overly sweet. All items were individually packed in the behind the self serve windows. We also purchased a taro bubble tea and classic bubble tea. The kids enjoyed the drinks. read more

This place is fantastic! The interior is very clean and there's a lot of fantastic pastries to buy at a very reasonable price! I opted for the blueberry coconut cake and the Napoleon (after great debate.. Everything looks delicious!) and what I got was FANTASTIC. The blueberry cake was so fluffy and light, the perfect amount of moisture and the sweet blueberry topping and layers were an excellent fresh flavor. The napoleon is probably the best Napoleon I've ever had?! For one, it was MASSIVE. Like, easily feed 4 people off of one dessert. Then, this thing is CRUNCHY. So many times I've had Napoleons that are soggy and hard to cut through because how soggy the flaky layers got. This thing was INCREDIBLY flakey and crispy! Even after hours! Even the next day! Not only that but as an added bonus, the creme in the middle actually had walnuts in it. Definitely not a typical addition to a Napoleon, but very good! The crunchy nutty flavor went really well with the lightly sweet cream and the flakey layers. The pastries are also VERY reasonably priced. Most things are in the $3-5 dollar range and very large for the price. Not to mention the QUALITY! Seriously, there were so many other treats here that caught my eye that I had to stop myself from getting, but I definitely want to come back and try it all. But also I'd even go back just to get that Napoleon again! read more

So excited to have this place in town. Finally a local spot with the staple breads, sweets and more. The tea was a bit sweet but the egg tarts and sweet breads are fresh and delicious read more

Limited variety of buns. I enjoyed the cream buns and soft pork floss cake. They have coconut sponge cake, Oreo sponge cake too. They are pretty good. Texture is great. Pineapple bun is ok. Good crust on the top. Thai boba tea is a bit water down and not strong. Lychee strawberry jelly tea drink was just ok. It's probably the only Asian bakery in the area so I guess it's worth going if you ever crave for boba tea or Asian buns. read more

Came here after dinner looking for a nice asian dessert. This review is just for the coconut blueberry cake. The cake itself was nice, light and spongy. However, the coconut flakes were a little overpowering and the cake was pretty tasteless, so I felt like I was eating a grainy sponge that was slightly sweet. Overall, not something I really feel the need to try again. read more

So happy there's now a bubble tea spot in Parsippany. I live pretty close by so I've been able to drop by a couple times now. While I haven't gotten a chance to try any of the baked goods, I vouch for the bubble tea. I've tried taro, brown sugar, regular, coffee, and matcha. The brown sugar was obscenely sweet. My teeth actually hurt trying to write this review, but every other flavor wasn't too sweet which I can appreciate. read more

It's so great having an Asian bakery in Morris county without having to drive to Edison. There's an assortment of various baked goods you can buy, as well as a fridge full of ready made desserts. They also have bubble tea which is great! I ordered the brown sugar boba and, man, does it SLAP! I would say it's just as good as Tiger Sugar, if not maybe better. It wasn't sweet at all when I drank it at first; however, the drink was a little sweet once it settled since a lot of the syrup was at the bottom. But I would still order this. 10/10. Price is also in line with what you would pay at Kung Fu Tea or other boba places. I also ordered a ready made mango mousse. It was AMAZING. Perfectly light and airy. The dessert was not sweet at all and the mango topping was just -chef's kiss- I would totally come back here again to try their other desserts and drinks! read more

I absolutely love this place. The desserts and pastries are just as good if not better than the spots in NYC Chinatown! It is so fun to walk around this store and see all of the unique gifts , there is a wide variety of gift option and types of candy

This cafe/bakery offers excellent goods and service rivaling the best patisseries in New York City. This is a value-added experience. The owner took the time to explain the baked goods and offer recommendations. We tried the Japanese cheesecake and chocolate mousse cake - both were light in texture and bold in taste. The latter had a thin chocolate topping fun to break through enhancing the chocolate flavor. The almond cookies were yummy, relying on almond flour rather than extract for flavor. The egg custard was creamy and luscious and the chiffon cake buttery and light. Everything is beautifully displayed and, for take-out, packaged in a way to remind us that we eat with our eyes first. Tip: watch for this shop in a small obscure strip mall. The owner is also very helpful if you need directions, landmarks, etc. Will be back! read more

Finally a spot in the area that has bubble tea! Brought to you by the great folks at Shan Shan Noodles (at least I think), is Sweet Shansations! This is such a cute spot and I can really see it thriving. They have so many choices and baked goods (both sweet and savory) plus lots of drinks. I got the Taro Bubble Tea from here (A++) and also a slice of the Blueberry Coconut Cake. The cake is very typical of an Asian-style bakery (light, fluffy and not too sweet). This might be the closest bubble tea place around me, and i am super excited about this!!! So i went in for a bubble tea.. and as i arrived, i noticed they have displace of bread and pastry so i took a look.. they have pretty amazing collection of bread and pastry... some are individually wrapped and some are not... there's also a lady there to help out if you have questions and help you to pick out the bread from the displace.. I didn't purchase any bread because i really just want the bubble tea, but maybe next time... but i have to say, the price is a little high... hopefully the taste will justify the price.. :) To my bubble tea, i ordered the brown sugar bubble tea, the bubble is warm and chewy, and the taste is pretty good... but as the bubble got cold, the bubble became hard which i expected.. So i guess next time i just have to finish the drink twice a fast!! haha... will definitely go back and try their bread and pastry, and maybe other flavor as well... read more

I miss living near Chinatown in NYC for the bakeries, but this place fills the void a wee bit. It is a very very small bakery, and prices are very high compared to Chinatown. That being said, their cakes are so light and fluffy. I am only docking a star for a few reasons: lack of variety, red bean rolls (the beans were whole inside), and pricing. If you are debating between Kam Man Market for baked goods and Sweet Shansations, Sweet Shansations hands down! read more

I spilled all the bubble tea in my car because the lid didn't close properly, contrary to what's shown in the picture.

No star for this place. I had ordered a bubble tea.. the guy who was behind the counter was scratching head while making it.. he was confused maybe....but still?? Whatever i bought that day we didn't like it. Egg tart had a bad bad eggy smell read more

I love the variety and options here. Such a cute bakery! Reminds me of some shops in NYC.

Randomly drove by and decided to try this Asian bakery. Everything was amazing! The bubble tea was delicious, they were able to do a jasmine tea with pudding for me. I am half Chinese and it's a known fact that Chinese baked goods aren't as well known as French and Italian baked goods, which I'm also a lover of. This place has the most authentic flavor, cloud-like and light-as-air texture that Chinese breads and buns are known for. And to boot, they are NOT obnoxiously sweet, no artificial taste and use real ingredients. I'm not exaggerating when I say that my husband and I are here 3-4 times per week. They're baked goods are always fresh, delish, staff are beyond nice, they provide tongs, trays, hand sanitizers and they well gloves and masks while also having a lucite glass by the register as well. Our faves are their custard, garlic creme bread, blueberry cream cheese bread, milk bread with grape, and chocolate and matcha rolls. And don't forget to try their dark chocolate Oreo slushie - TO DIE FOR!! Love you Shansation!!! read more
