Beignets is on the list of places that I wanted to check out if I'm ever in Denville and I finally made it. Let me first start off by saying that the beignets I had were heavenly. Light, fluffy, not too sweet, with a messy but delicious showering of powdered sugar. I would definitely stop by for their fresh, fluffy beignets to be eaten fresh because they make them fresh with every order! Just for their amazing beignets, it should be 5 stars. My friend also got a chai latte, which my friend actually really liked. She said it was one of the best she's ever had. I tried and it was really good, just super sweet. Taste-wise though - delicious! BUT I gave 4 stars because when I went, they were out of the other things I wanted and it wasn't clearly advertised so the poor girl helping me had to keep telling me sad news, one after another. I wish there was a sign stating if something was unavailable or they should've put away displays if items were not available. My friend wanted gelato because there was a picture of it displayed, but they said they didn't have that. Is it only a summer thing? Were they not serving gelato just for that day? I don't know, it was just unavailable. They really should not mislead customers by displaying the picture of the pretty gelato (the picture looked really good!). This also meant that I couldn't get the affogato because they weren't serving gelato. Again, the menu didn't clearly state they were not serving that drink. I also stopped by here specifically because I saw an Instagram post that their hot cocoa was one of the best. The "toasted" one was the one I wanted, but it was not available because they didn't have the marshmallow. Again, that one wasn't covered with a sign that it was unavailable. I ended up getting a drink somewhere else. Also, when we wanted a receipt, the girl helping us said it wasn't working. So it was just a bad timing that day. Poor girl was super nice as she delivered rejections, but I was still constantly disappointed. Again, if I'm ever in the area, I would definitely be back for their beignets and hopefully that next time, the menus will be more clear about what they have and don't have. Things to know before you go: -They have a lot of different donut flavors and fillings, which I didn't try. But make sure to prepare enough time to wait for them to be made fresh and depending on how busy they are at the time you go. It looks like it's worth the wait because so many people got several donuts. -There were about four 2-person tables and one table for 4-5 people and a couch for 2 people to sit snugly. This little gem is a great find for anyone who likes fresh baked specialties. I always get freshly made donuts and they seldom all make it home as the aroma fills the car with mouthwatering temptations. The signature item, classic New Orleans beignets, is "to die for" ... I get 4, and eat one in the car as I drive home since they are like the donuts fill my little buggy with the lovely aroma of freshly baked yummy goods. I urged a friend and her sister to give the place a try and even sprung for a gift card to tempt them to switch from Starbucks. When I asked if I was successful, I was told, "I love beignets"! Beignets is a cute little shop right on the Main Street in town. Workers were friendly, interior was a little dated but had a charmy feel to it. Tried a few different donuts. They were exceptional. Warm, fresh, decadent. Each topping was better than the last. You'll be in a sugar coma if you try more than one of these donuts, in a good way. Didn't try the beignets - I'll be back for those. All I can say is WOW!!!! I was visiting home a few months back and one of my girlfriends suggested we stop here before I left town. She said it was her favorite donut place, and I am always in favor of backing a small business. The woman working was incredibly nice and patient with us since we couldn't pick what we wanted to save our lives - there were SO many options! Everything was super fresh and made to order. Also very rich, if you eat with your eyes you will have A LOT of leftovers since they are very filling haha I got a nutella donut and a vanilla with sprinkles, basic but oh so good. They are cake donuts and literally *perfect*. I also brought home some donuts for my parents to enjoy, they were just THAT good. Kinda conflicted because for my first time eating beignets, I imagined that it would have tasted out of this world. The taste was great however the texture was off --was not crispy. The staff was busy but attentive. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, so the strip in general was bustling with folks. The donuts were not as fresh as I expected as well. What a great find, we having been looking for our go to donuts joint since we moved to Denville. This place was on our list but somehow we would always miss the opportunity to come here. Came here this past weekend, both my wife and daughter were craving donuts. It is a small cute little coffee and donut/beignets spot. We tried 4 flavors of donut( cookie dough, pistachio, Nutella, Cinnabon), they make their donuts fresh which is great. We waited for 10 mins before taking our donuts to go. Now onto to donuts, they were out of this world, small mean bites filled with flavor and deliciousness. We loved all of their flavors, but favorite one was pistachios. The donuts are not huge but not super small either, perfect portion size. Very much so a to-go type of place. The beignets themselves are easily 5 stars. HAVE to eat them warm. You can eat multiple because they are so light and flakey. I got the cinnamon sugar ones and I enjoyed the slight crisp from the sugar crystals. I've had these cold too and they are still tasty, but not as good as made fresh. My americano was also very good. People are also super, super nice and friendly. Now...the inside needs some help. It's a bit drab. Shelves filled with random items and it just feels like a big storage room. The Beignets are airy, soft, and generally not as sweet as a donut. The Honey Lavender Latte had a whole lot of honey and not enough lavender. It was smooth, sweet, and creamy but the honey was a bit overpowering. I wish I got more lavender essence than honey. This unassuming donut shop is always hopping on a weekend morning. They make the donuts plain and then you watch as toppings of your choice are added. The beignets are fresh and light and their pistachio latte is a standout for me. We try to stop by any time we're in the area for some guilty donut pleasure. The one caveat I found was the donut toppings do not transport well. We brought some back to Long Island for family and they were a soggy chocolatey mess by the time we drove for an hour. ***4 1/2 stars*** My noble chum and I stopped by here last Friday afternoon for a palate cleanser after an okay Mexican lunch down the street. I was here almost a decade ago (good lord) with other friends and was pleasantly surprised to see this place still in existence and thriving. At the time, I had gone specifically to try the beignets since I used to live in New Orleans and was a regular at Cafe Du Monde, but I ended up actually enjoying the donuts here more. As soon as I saw it referenced on their menu, I remembered that I had ordered the strawberry field forever donut last time and really enjoyed it. I went with that again and was not unhappy. It was like a scrumptious time warp. All of the donuts here are cooked on the spot, made to order, and it shows. The dough has the perfect density, not too heavy, and I'm not sure if I can really articulate how good the individual flavors are without babbling incoherently. I loved the tiny white chocolate chips on the top, which are right on the verge of melting but are still somehow maintaining their shape until you bite down. Goes perfectly with the strawberry. My friend got a lemon-flavored one and really liked it. They were a LITTLE more expensive than the last time (which, again, was close to 10 years ago and not during a massive supply chain/inflation crisis); I think they were around $1.60 then and are now about $2.00. That's really not bad at all given how much time has elapsed and how nuts price points are these days. Dunkin is probably about $0.40 cheaper, but it's also a substandard product compared to this, especially when you consider that they stop making fresh donuts at Dunkin at a certain point so you're risking stale pastries the later in the day you wander in there. The service was top notch, with all of the requested items ready to be eaten in five minutes. There were two women behind the counter when we came in, both friendly/personable. No other customers were in there, which obviously helped, but we were promptly greeted and our orders taken as soon as we had pondered the numerous options and made our decisions. Great to see this place as solid and reliable as ever. Definitely worth bypassing the numerous Dunkins littering nearby Route 46 and coming over to downtown Denville. read more

I have been DYING to try this place out for years because honestly, who doesn't love fried dough in sugar, am I right or am I right? It's on the main drag so parking is insane. The chalkboard menu had so many options but I came for one thing only, the namesake, their beignets. Every beignet & donut is made fresh when ordered so you get your treat piping hot and delicious. Three beignets for $5 is irresistibly reasonable so score! Unfortunately, it DID NOT meet my expectations. Every time I see beignet on ANY menu, I get it to compare. These were not good. Admittedly, I got excited when I looked in the bag & saw that they were decent sized beignets AND the amount of powdered sugar she put in there was great but the donut just was not what I expected. It was greasy so the powdered sugar REALLY caked on. It was light and airy BUT it wasn't pillowy. It was flaky. It didn't have the bounce back of a yeasty donut. I wasn't a fan. It's super cute with tables inside and outside, TONS of not only doughnuts but beignets and other sweet treats to choose from. I was overwhelmed in a good way by all of the flavors they had! All I can say is WOW. Beignets has been on my list since I moved to the area (look at their Yelp photos... can you blame me)? I finally stopped in and am so glad that I did. The shop is cute and cozy. There is a large assortment of speciality donuts, coffees and beverages and of course beignets, which come in powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar. They have a standing menu with classic donut flavors, but after asking for advice I learned that the most popular flavors are found on the specials board. I ordered half a dozen donuts and tried cookie dough, candy cane, fruity pebble, maple bacon, cinn sugar, and cannoli. Everything was ace, but the fruity pebble most definitely won me over as the favorite. The cinnamon sugar beignets are also outstanding -- light and fluffy pillows of dough coated in a heaping amount of sweet cinnamon and sugar. Everything was of course best served fresh, but still tasted good heated up to a few days later. I like that the donuts aren't huge, that way you can try a little bit of this and that. They are also more of a cakey donut than a flakey donut (if you know, you know), with a very moist filling. The shop is cute and cozy, and I could see this being a nice place to get some work done while enjoying some coffee and a donut. Everything is made fresh to order, so expect to wait a few minutes. Stopped in to get a dozen donuts to bring to a party later in the day. They were really busy so I just told them to do an assortment. It was good but I had no clue what was what so I should have choose or they should have stickers on top to tell you or something.
