This past weekend my wife and I stopped in at Turning Point for brunch. The interior is very nice, everything looks new and clean. The high ceilings and decor inside is very nice. Our server was friendly and helpful. The Vanilla Chai Tea Latte I ordered was outstanding, my favorite part of the meal. My wife had the cinnamon swirl pancakes and I had the egg skillet. If I was to order again, I'd order what she had, it was very good. A couple of recommendations...First, don't have the person bussing tables squeeze the cart in next to people who are eating. This was not something we needed in the middle of our meal. Second, we received our check just minutes after our entrees were served. There weren't even people waiting for tables. First family outing of the year. Lots of parking and great spot for after service on a Sunday. Party of 5 and we only had a short wait. We ordered the cookie hot chocolate, blondie, and the kids got orange juice. For food we got the shrimp and grits, Cuban, chicken tenders, pork sausage, and grilled cheese. All except the shrimp and sausage came with potatoes. The potatoes were good but some were not fully cooked so they were a little hard. The shrimp and grits was tasty and the cornbread it came with was good too. The Cuban was different than other places but still good. My daughter loved her tenders. My son ate almost his whole grilled cheese. My littlest one loved the pork sausage I had to order a 2nd order. Waiting staff was pleasant and attentive. By far one of my favorite places to eat at. Family friendly. Went after church on a Sunday. Lots of parking. I got the shrimp and grits with a side of cornbread and it was so good. Turning Point is a cute spot in a big new shopping plaza. I've been twice, and the service was great both times--the manager even covered my dad's meal since he's a Vietnam vet, which was really sweet. I had the French toast, and it was a bit soggy--next time I'll ask for it cooked a little longer. The eggs were dry and flavorless, and the pancakes were thick and gooey, not really my thing. The shrimp and grits were okay--about 3 out of 5 stars. Not terrible, but nothing special. Everything felt like it was warmed in the microwave and plated. Heads up: the breakfast potatoes are just plain potatoes with zero seasoning and extremely dry. Definitely skip those! Prices are fair, which is great since the food is not much to write home about. I've had great experiences at the one in Princeton. Giving this place a second chance after having a bed experience when they opened. Unfortunately still took over 18min to get the coffee we ordered. His eggs came out cold and you could tell they had been sitting out for a bit. A different server came out ask asked if we wanted them to make us new eggs. They brought out new eggs but same thing. They came out in 2 mins but hadn't just been made. I don't understand how they are always this busy when the service is so slow and inattentive. While we had to wait 40 minutes for a table for two, the service was actually great once we were seated. Pros: strong coffee, and we enjoyed the "basic skillet" and "huevos rancheros." Really nice waiter, too; attentive and patient! Cons: long wait for the table and our French press coffee ended up having a decent amount of grounds come through the filter. Good flavor though? My wife and I were craving good pancakes. We stumbled upon this great restaurant in a newer strip mall with some other great stores in Morris Township. This restaurant has many other locations in NJ as well. We decided on the Kona Blend French Press Coffee and Lemon/Blueberry Pancakes . Wow 5 stars for both. What we didn't expect was the unbelievable customer service we received. First, General Manager Keith introduced himself to us with a big smile and hospitality. The server and barista, Alia also unbelievably nice. As if the High Bar hadn't been reached yet, long time employee who started her career in the 90's , Michelle added another very sweet level to ice the atmosphere. Myself and the wife gave this place a try during the week. Just be aware if you go a weekend there is always a wait. So the place was half empty when we got there around 10 but were told it was a 15 minute wait for a table, it was still fairly busy and likely due to staffing. We asked if we could sit at the counter and they said yes so we sat right away if your ok with that, The manager / hostess and waitress were all super nice and friendly. Found turning point in morris township on yelp n thought we'd try it for brunch. Called in n they said 20 min wait but when we got there we had to wait for another 20 mins. So just waited outside . It's across the mega ShopRite in Morristown. Plenty of parking. Nice bright and airy restaurant. Regular tables as well as hi tops.friendly staff. We ordered the salted caramel mochachino. Came in a big mug n tasted good though a lil sweet. Nice coffee /chocolate flavor. Had the chipotle crab flat bread. Was on cauliflower flat bread topped w snow crab meat, chopped red peppers, baby spinach, jack cheese n a nice chipotle aioli. Generous amounts of crab meat. Was light n tasted really good. "I recently visited Turning Point in Morristown, New Jersey, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the dining area might appear 'meteorically clean' at first glance, this facade quickly crumbles upon closer inspection, especially in the restrooms, which were noticeably dirty. Despite a more than half-empty dining room, my party and others were subjected to an average wait time of 25-30 minutes, significantly longer than the promised 10 minutes. This is particularly frustrating given their policy of not taking reservations. Adding to the disappointment was the poorly managed front desk staff, who were consistently rude, inconsiderate, and snappy. The overall lack of hygiene, particularly in the bathroom, is concerning and warrants an inspection by the New Jersey Health Department. Service was a little scattered the day I went, but the food was pretty good. My husband enjoyed his huevos rancheros which were served a little different than what you normally see. This spot is so cute and lovely! It's very spacious, so your large party or small table can be accommodated. It's probably a good idea to preview the menu before arriving, or, if you're like me, you'll never whittle it down to something that you can eat because you'll want to order one of everything. To stay healthy, I opted for the power grains bowl and some freshly pressed Kale to the King juice - both of which made me very happy. I love quinoa and sautéed vegetables, I do just wish there were more vegetables because my stomach is always feeling bottomless for delicious food. Very family friendly, there were a lot of kids. I felt like we waited awhile for food but for it being so busy, it was reasonable. Sometimes when food is cooked without enough flavor, no amount of salt and pepper afterward can save it. Went today for some brunch and loved it! We were seated right away which is unusual for brunch places. We were seated right next to their fireplace which got hot very quickly so that's the only downside. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, and even recommended what dressing to get when I was unsure. I got their 12.99 1/2 and 1/2 combo with a salad and half a sandwich. I got their chop chop salad with lemon vinaigrette and it truly blew me away! Recently opened breakfast/brunch/lunch chainish lunch spot. We got there before 9 on a Saturday and there was no wait (they do offer "join waitlist" online which we didn't need). The main host/owner was super friendly. The place is spacious and new so plenty of seating. They have a coffee bar that you can sit and sip. The service, although friendly, was slow. We order kids pancakes/waffles for the little ones. I had the Wilbur skillet - A skillet of potatoes, crushed bacon, avocado, diced tomato, jack cheese & 2 eggs your way with an English muffin. Lots of potatoes but very little other items. Plus the potatoes was for the most part undercooked. Wife had a special = Home Sweet Hash and "Just Beet It" which were underwhelming. I love love the Turning Point in Westfield, but this location does not meet the same standards that the Westfield location serves. I'll give them more time because they are new and I know this place has a lot of potential. Super lovely atmosphere and the quintessential brunch spot. Service was nice and efficient. Expect a wait on the weekend (put yourself on the waitlist online ahead of time to avoid disappointment). I got the breakfast combo: French toast ($2 up charge from pancakes or waffle), scrambled eggs, taylor ham, breakfast potatoes, and an additional fruit cup. The French toast was my favorite: slightly crisp edges and good flavor. I also enjoy that the bread is oval - I don't know why, just do. Scrambled eggs were standard and cooked well. The breakfast potatoes needed some more love - pretty pale and no crisp. Maybe ask for well done potatoes. The taylor ham was strange...it was not your typical taylor ham. It was sliced very thin and had a strong smoke flavor to it. Was not a fan. The fruit cup is clearly a fruit salad that was made ahead of time so the fruit is a little mushy from sitting in fruit juices. I needed to send the fruit cup back because there was some mysterious white paste? on the fruit...it wasn't powered sugar nor sweet. I really don't know. The iced pumpkin cream cold brew was great. They use one big coffee ice cube! That was fun. It's pretty sweet, but not overly sweet where it tastes like Dunkin Donuts chemicals. My husband's basic skillet was average. Ratio of potatoes to other items were totally off - way too many potatoes. He also asked for avocado to the skillet and you needed a microscope to find it. I'd recommend getting there on the early side if possible. My wife and I both got the Power Up Grain Bowl. It was good and a healthy option on the menu. This time i was given my cannoli on the side and my cold brew actually had a decent amount of coffee in it. Again, despite adding ourselves to the wait list early it was still about 45 minute wait. Many diners there but several tables were open. Unfortunately lots of tables hadn't been cleared which is always an unappetizing site. However, it didn't take long to seat us. Menu was as expected. Service was ok-even though we had to remind our server to bring us water and the straw for my dining partner. Was glad they had added a kind of "pick 2" menu option but the presentation left a little bit to be desired. The cup of soup with the half sandwich left a lot of plate uncovered. Also the bread was a little dry. We both had ordered the blueberry/lemonade which was much too sweet!! So, not sure if I'll return, at least not this location. read more

I placed our name on the waiting list which indicated there was a 15-30 minute wait. When we arrived, we were seated immediately. Great start! I ordered three slices of French toast with bananas and strawberries with a side of chicken sausage. Of course, we ordered the French press Kona blend coffee. My co-worker ordered two eggs scrambled, English muffin, side of fruit, and chicken sausage. Our meals came out fresh, hot, and cooked to perfection. The fruit was fresh. and the Kona blend coffee was excellent. Empty plates back to the kitchen. The service was excellent and friendly. The prices are a bit higher than a diner but this is not a diner. This is an experience. This Turning Point is located in a strip mall and there is plenty of parking. read more

I came here for breakfast on a Sunday at 830am and there were only a few tables taken - no wait. We were immediately seated and offered beverages. We picked up some coffee as we perused the menu and decided to split two things: the avocado mash benedict and the GOAT omelette. Food came quickly, was hot, and super fresh. We split both and jumped in. Both dishes were well seasoned and eggs were cooked perfectly. The GOAT omelette had a generous amount of ingredients and no shortage of goat cheese - both inside and on top! The avocado benedict also had a perfectly cooked egg. The only, very minor, complaint was the potatoes could have been crispier - they felt roasted and then maybe they were big-batched so they were there for a bit. I did not see the restrooms but the place looked super clean and very well-staffed. By the time we were done at 930am, there was beginning to be a wait... there's no reservations so make sure to time your arrival accordingly! read more
