My wife had the cinnamon swirl pancakes and I had the egg skillet. If I was to order again, I'd order what she had, it was very good. A couple of recommendations...First, don't have the person bussing tables squeeze the cart in next to people who are eating. This was not something we needed in the middle of our meal. First family outing of the year. Lots of parking and great spot for after service on a Sunday. Party of 5 and we only had a short wait. We ordered the cookie hot chocolate, blondie, and the kids got orange juice. For food we got the shrimp and grits, Cuban, chicken tenders, pork sausage, and grilled cheese. All except the shrimp and sausage came with potatoes. The potatoes were good but some were not fully cooked so they were a little hard. The shrimp and grits was tasty and the cornbread it came with was good too. The Cuban was different than other places but still good. My daughter loved her tenders. My son ate almost his whole grilled cheese. My littlest one loved the pork sausage I had to order a 2nd order. Waiting staff was pleasant and attentive. I've had great experiences at the one in Princeton. Giving this place a second chance after having a bed experience when they opened. Unfortunately still took over 18min to get the coffee we ordered. His eggs came out cold and you could tell they had been sitting out for a bit. A different server came out ask asked if we wanted them to make us new eggs. They brought out new eggs but same thing. They came out in 2 mins but hadn't just been made. I don't understand how they are always this busy when the service is so slow and inattentive. The shrimp and grits were okay--about 3 out of 5 stars. Not terrible, but nothing special. Everything felt like it was warmed in the microwave and plated. While we had to wait 40 minutes for a table for two, the service was actually great once we were seated. Pros: strong coffee, and we enjoyed the "basic skillet" and "huevos rancheros." My wife and I were craving good pancakes. We stumbled upon this great restaurant in a newer strip mall with some other great stores in Morris Township. This restaurant has many other locations in NJ as well. We decided on the Kona Blend French Press Coffee and Lemon/Blueberry Pancakes . Wow 5 stars for both. What we didn't expect was the unbelievable customer service we received. First, General Manager Keith introduced himself to us with a big smile and hospitality. The server and barista, Alia also unbelievably nice. As if the High Bar hadn't been reached yet, long time employee who started her career in the 90's , Michelle added another very sweet level to ice the atmosphere. Myself and the wife gave this place a try during the week. Just be aware if you go a weekend there is always a wait. So the place was half empty when we got there around 10 but were told it was a 15 minute wait for a table, it was still fairly busy and likely due to staffing. We asked if we could sit at the counter and they said yes so we sat right away if your ok with that, The manager / hostess and waitress were all super nice and friendly. "I recently visited Turning Point in Morristown, New Jersey, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Went today for some brunch and loved it! We were seated right away which is unusual for brunch places. We were seated right next to their fireplace which got hot very quickly so that's the only downside. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, and even recommended what dressing to get when I was unsure. I got their 12.99 1/2 and 1/2 combo with a salad and half a sandwich. I got their chop chop salad with lemon vinaigrette and it truly blew me away! The main host/owner was super friendly. The place is spacious and new so plenty of seating. They have a coffee bar that you can sit and sip. The service, although friendly, was slow. We order kids pancakes/waffles for the little ones. I had the Wilbur skillet - A skillet of potatoes, crushed bacon, avocado, diced tomato, jack cheese & 2 eggs your way with an English muffin. Lots of potatoes but very little other items. Plus the potatoes was for the most part undercooked. Wife had a special = Home Sweet Hash and "Just Beet It" which were underwhelming. I love love the Turning Point in Westfield, but this location does not meet the same standards that the Westfield location serves. I'll give them more time because they are new and I know this place has a lot of potential. Super lovely atmosphere and the quintessential brunch spot. Service was nice and efficient. Expect a wait on the weekend (put yourself on the waitlist online ahead of time to avoid disappointment). I got the breakfast combo: French toast ($2 up charge from pancakes or waffle), scrambled eggs, taylor ham, breakfast potatoes, and an additional fruit cup. The French toast was my favorite: slightly crisp edges and good flavor. I also enjoy that the bread is oval - I don't know why, just do. Scrambled eggs were standard and cooked well. The breakfast potatoes needed some more love - pretty pale and no crisp. Maybe ask for well done potatoes. The taylor ham was strange...it was not your typical taylor ham. It was sliced very thin and had a strong smoke flavor to it. Was not a fan. The fruit cup is clearly a fruit salad that was made ahead of time so the fruit is a little mushy from sitting in fruit juices. I needed to send the fruit cup back because there was some mysterious white paste? on the fruit...it wasn't powered sugar nor sweet. I really don't know. The iced pumpkin cream cold brew was great. They use one big coffee ice cube! That was fun. It's pretty sweet, but not overly sweet where it tastes like Dunkin Donuts chemicals. My husband's basic skillet was average. Ratio of potatoes to other items were totally off - way too many potatoes. He also asked for avocado to the skillet and you needed a microscope to find it. We tried Turning Point for brunch on a weekend. It is fairly big inside with lots of tables, but they are very busy on the weekend and there was a wait. I'd recommend getting there on the early side if possible. My wife and I both got the Power Up Grain Bowl. It was good and a healthy option on the menu. This time i was given my cannoli on the side and my cold brew actually had a decent amount of coffee in it. Again, despite adding ourselves to the wait list early it was still about 45 minute wait. Many diners there but several tables were open. I placed our name on the waiting list which indicated there was a 15-30 minute wait. When we arrived, we were seated immediately. Great start! I ordered three slices of French toast with bananas and strawberries with a side of chicken sausage. Of course, we ordered the French press Kona blend coffee. My co-worker ordered two eggs scrambled, English muffin, side of fruit, and chicken sausage. Our meals came out fresh, hot, and cooked to perfection. The fruit was fresh. and the Kona blend coffee was excellent. Empty plates back to the kitchen. The service was excellent and friendly.
