Ok, I did a review based on one the the highlights from the business that states "Budget Friendly". I spoke briefly with the owner Roy. I wasn't actually locked out. My front door to my salon has been gone for a few weeks. Not my building, the owners are in the mist of repairs. However it's only a back door and I wanted to go by and wait for the traffic to die down and remove some of the rubbish and debris from the accident that happened a few weeks back. I tried my keys on my key ring and I only have a gate key. So I called around to see how much it'll be to have the single lock opened. He quoted $120, and I informed him it was too much; and he hung up. However I decided you know what with inflation prices has changed. So I removed the review... Only to get a call from the owner 10 minutes after I removed it asking me to remove it. I informed Roy it had been removed prior to the call. Yet I check my email and this is what I find. I will post. In no way is it okay for you to message or call anyone saying remove a review that was left on your business. I never said you were rude I simply said. Not budget friendly would not recommend. He was stating he wasn't being rude when he quoted me the price. Yet I never said anything about you being rude. Roy was super friendly, professional and saved my night. I locked the door knob from inside and walked out and shut the door behind me, realizing seconds later that key is still inside. Oops! I even googled and found that credit card or similar card can help to open the door if there is big enough gap but not in my case. For some reason, all the top rated locksmiths in Oakland, Alameda were either too busy or closed, so I had to widen my search. Roy gave me a good price and was at the door within 25 minutes. I wouldn't say it was cheap but it was reasonable considering the response time and the urgency and 2nd cheapest that I was offered that night. Roy did ask for ID to check the residence address but I was actually housesitting, so it wasn't my residence. However, between my ID, my app showing the residence address and the dates that I was hired, plus the owner send me her ID (she was fully aware what happened and even offered to pay for the service, since she felt bad that there was no extra key available for situations like this) and once the door was opened, I had to show some pieces of mail to match the owner's ID. Those steps did assure me that Roy wouldn't be just opening random residence doors. Opening the door, did take about 5 min. The only downside is that it's a little noisy process but I guess also good in a sense if door is being opened for wrong reason and neighbors will come and question or call a police. read more

Our front doorknob quit working rather abruptly, and we were locked in our house - how's that for ridiculous?
