A HERO IN LOCKSMITH'S CLOTHING!! I locked myself out of my apartment while grabbing an amazon package. I called around locksmiths from my neighbor's phone, and Daniel was the only one who picked up right away, was kind and reassuring, and estimated less than 2 hours to arrive at my apartment in Oakland. Daniel came to the rescue! He arrived within 20 minutes, and may I say - this man clearly has experience with how people are feeling (spoiler alert: anxious and embarrassed) when they are locked out of their homes especially with pets inside - he knew exactly the right things to say and do to make me feel better. I was very confused about how I could possibly lock myself out, since the only locking mechanism I ever use is a deadbolt lock - my understanding of that kind of lock, is that it's impossible to accidentally lock yourself out . So, I was very nervous ... in my mind while I was waiting for Daniel to arrive, my imagination was carrying me away. Was it possible someone had ducked inside my apartment while I was literally 20 feet away, and locked the door from the inside? Daniel told me not to worry, he has never seen that kind of thing happen, and if it did he would be there with me. I had a strange problem with the doorknob of my front door that was quite worrisome. It seemed like the doorknob was locked ... but it really was not. I don't know when the issue cropped up, but I gasped when it was discovered because it was a clear threat to my security - especially as a person living alone. I was convinced I needed a new doorknob. But then I called Daniel. He said that my doorknob was fine, but it was not tracking properly with the rest of the door structure. Daniel came out right away.
