Called TopLocksmith for a broken door lock on my home. He came on time and even a bit early. He explained everything carefully before getting started. He wore shoe coverings to protect my floor. He definitely knows what he's doing. He was done in under 10 to 15 minutes. Very personable. He had me check the new locks and explained the new key mechanisms which I greatly appreciated. TL;DR: Top Locksmith not only deserves 5/5 stars for being the most responsive, reliable, personable, and prepared, but also for being the most transparent, affordable, and trustworthy. In a region where sadly even public transit is increasing inaffordable, Avi, the owner, represents the best of Oakland. I lost my 2016 Chevy Volt FOB during what may be the most disasterous moving experience I've ever had (a story for another review). And, despite (my father) urging me to get a spare for the past 6 years, did not have a spare. I submitted a Yelp project request after getting the voicemail, mailbox full, or price gouged by the first seven businesses I called, and I am so glad I did! Responsiveness: Avi callled within 3 minutes and arrived right on time, 17 minutes later. Astounding Attention to Detail, Impressive Efficiancy: In just over 30 minutes, Avi successfully programmed, tested, synced with my original Fob (found just as he testing), and then retested them both again, sent confirmation of payment, and was on his way to help the next lockless neighbor. Most Affordable and Transparent: At $385--flat rate, no taxes, fees, surcharges, or mandatory 20% gratuity, Top Locksmith was the most affordable. In fact, there was not even the now obiquitous "Choose the Tip" screen. My biggest regret is that I didn't have cash on me, as he more than deserved a 20%+ tip! read more

Got locked out of my apartment and the property management office couldn't get anyone to the building until Monday (typical). A quick Yelp search landed me at Top Locksmith. Communication was excellent and they arrived within 30 minutes of our conversation, and had the door opened even faster (literally took 15 seconds). Would recommend Top Locksmith 1000 times over for anyone that might find themselves in a similar situation. The $175 flat fee was greatly appreciated too as other locksmiths were charging a base fee plus a travel fee. read more

I called Avi for an emergency after-hours rekey of a front door lock when a friend had "one of those" break-ups. He was calm, quick, and competent in a stressful environment, and had some really terrific suggestions for how my friend could feel safer again. We scheduled a more permanent solution for later this week for him to implement them. I found his prices reasonable, especially for the high level of service and attention to detail. This experience was so good that he'll most likely be my go-to locksmith going forward, especially since he provides service to the entire Bay Area. read more

Very timely and speedy work. I would definitely use this business again. Thanks for the help!

Very quick to respond and to show up. These types of situations are always somewhat vulnerable and desperate when you get locked out, so to have it dealt with in such a discreet, quick, and chill way is a blessing at any time. Like most, I hope to not get locked out again but if I do, at least I know I have something reliable, with an accurate quote to boot! read more

I have used Avihai twice and he was very professional, communicative, honest, and did high-quality work. Would recommend him to anyone and will use him on any future locksmith needs. The first time, I accidentally got locked out of the house when gardening and he was able to get me back into the house and was very prompt. I also used him recently to install some locks and he was great, walked me through all of my options for locks, took the time to make sure everything was done to my liking, and was very professional and a good reasonable value. My son locked my keys inside my office. The keys had all the keys, including my car keys on them. I called a couple locksmiths because we needed a fast response. The first locksmith I called seemed fine but said it would take a hour or two to get here. Avi responded right away and could be here in 20 minutes. He arrived on time. He got the job done. Plus, I realized I could fix another lock that had been broken while he was here. He did everything quickly and efficiently. Highly recommend Avi! read more

This was one of the best experiences I have had in any business interaction. Long story short I accidentally vacuumed up and threw away keys for an older car I am restoring. I purchased a new ignition cylinder but needed to get the old one in the on position to replace it. Avi responded to my message almost immediately and was able to come to my home shop the following day. Avi quickly finished the work I needed and went above by installing my new ignition cylinder. His pricing is extremely reasonable and he couldn't have been more professional. If you are in need of these services I would definitely recommend Avi. read more

We reached out to Top Locksmith for a project that involved key duplication for several apartments. The project required that the work be done at a specific time on a specific day because of the number of apartments involved. Avi was willing to take on the project and did a great job. He arrived as scheduled (barring a bit a traffic) and completed the job as scheduled. He price was competitive and he was very pleasant to work with. All involved were very pleased. Would definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone that may have a similar project. read more

I do not know how this guy got so many good reviews on yelp, he gave me a really low quote for a new key fob compared to other locksmith on yelp. However, when he came out, he didn't know how to program my key and called this other guy. He then doubled his quote. Professionalism was not there, however he did get the job done. He was a nice person and on time. read more

We got locked out because the garage didn't work and we forgot our keys. We didn't want to access from our front door because we have two interior locks and opening the front door without damage would be unlikely. This guy is super responsive, he told us he can open the garage with a good price. He arrived soon and opened the garage with a few tries. I highly recommend this guy and I will come to him again if anything happens in the future. read more
