However, he encouraged me to allow him to continue programming the key. He told me if he put the pieces back my car would be loud and the alarm would keep setting off. He finally completed the work on Monday, and my father picked up my car on my behalf since I was out of the country. When I returned and got my car back, there were components that had not been reassembled. In addition, new issues had developed: 3 of 4 windows no longer roll down, and the driver's side door no longer locks properly. I now have to lock the car by opening the rear door and manually pushing down the lock. I attempted to replace the window fuses, which temporarily restored function, but the fuse now shorts every time the windows are used. The driver's door continues to malfunction, never fixed that part. He was very nice and clearly works hard; however, I wish that if he was unable to program the key, he had communicated that upfront rather than continuing to work on my vehicle. This process resulted in several hours of lost time, significant expense, and additional damage to my car. I have now paid $740 for this service and will need to go to the dealership to address the issues caused, with no way of knowing what the additional repair costs will be. I have been told by him that I need to travel to Hayward or Oakland, but I live in Sunnyvale. As a single mother of two, it is extremely difficult to find the time to make these trips, especially after already spending days previously waiting while the issue was unresolved. As a business owner, taking payment for work that resulted in further damage rather than a solution has made this an unfortunate and highly inconvenient experience.

Next thing you know we have a 5"x5" hole in our fireplace along with holes in another wall. The patch was left unfinished. He said he had a paint brush initially and then later said he didn't. Pretty sure he was using a paper towel. Then told me I should paint it in an hour. Called their office and Nikki told me their team doesn't do paint or patching...ok. Why say you can? I already knew the safety sensors were not working but wasn't sure what the issue might be. The technician arrived and I explained what I had already done to troubleshoot the issue, including installing new sensors. He indicated it was likely the wires or the circuit board inside the opener itself. I asked if he could simply test to see if power was getting to the sensors before running new wires. He connected a new wire to one of the sensors he removed from its bracket and said, yes that's the problem, you need new wires ran from the opener to the sensors. So I asked "what would that charge be?". He indicated he would charge $50 + $175 =$225.00. I opted not to have him run the wires. He then said the charge would then just be $175. He said it was for his "experience and for his time to come to our house". I asked so what was the "free estimate?" By his definition, the "Free Estimate" was simply him showing up, but I needed to pay for his expertise. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT TO GET A FREE ESTIMATE OF THE WORK NECESSARY TO RESOLVE YOUR GARAGE DOOR ISSUE.

I ordered a garage door with a certain style of window 'inserts' that match my other windows in my home. He showed up promptly on the day of the install and the installation went good, except that he had to install a basic plain window because the window style I ordered had not yet arrived. He told me as soon as it came in he'd come and swap them out. About three weeks after the install I called to get a status. He said it would be taken care of soon. A few weeks later I called again and left a message, that I was somewhat upset it had not been done and I have not heard from him. I did not get a call-back. It has now been over 2 months since the installation and I am quite certain he has no intention of delivering the product I ordered which is unfortunate since he seems like a nice guy and did a good job installing the door. I actually gave him two stars because he did a good job, he was prompt and seemed like a good guy. I just don't understand why he never delivered my windows.

Update: They saw my review and responded almost immediately to let me know they'd had past issues with a batch of keys, many people had called in, and they would fix the key free of charge. They even came out to meet me in under an hour and fixed it in 10 minutes. It was great to get that response and to have them right the situation, but it would've been great if they'd mentioned the bad batch initially and just offered to fix the key in the first place. If they've worked through their replacement key issues, which it seems like they have, I'd recommend them. I used Lockology to get a replacement key made for my Honda Fit. The process was pretty simple and quick. I think it cost $180, which is much cheaper than the factory replacement ( I think I was quoted at $220), and the key is all synced up with my car. They even let me know that I could be reimbursed for part of it with my AAA discount. It's been almost a year, and the key is starting to fall apart. You can see in my pictures, it's a replacement key that is already having problems - it's not a true factory made key that they made for me, as the one that came with my car is doing fine. I called to ask them about it, and they have a 90-day warranty on their keys which had expired, but they were willing to give me a discount on fixing it for $85. I mean, I guess that's fine and totally makes sense, and I'd remembered them saying that when I got the key. All that said, I wouldn't get a replacement key made from them again - it was a shoddy product I received and will most likely break completely in the next 6 months. I'll ask about the warranty on a key the next time I get one made, and I'll probably just go the extra $40 to get it made at the honda shop. read more

There are 2 things in life that that really mess you up. Loosing your wallet and loosing your keys. I lost my car keys at Bart with no spare. I was stuck and got left hanging for 4 hours with a auto locksmith who said he would be there in an hour. I had to leave the car over night. I called another locksmith and he showed up just to say he couldn't do it. I quote him ' if I can't do it, no one can'. He never called back. Now comes Lockology, they gave a solid quote over the phone, the technician came out (Edgar). He was as nice as can be, great personality. He was there to work and NOT up sell his services. He said what he would do and he did what he said he would. He was done in an hour - considering what he had to do. I can't say enough great things about this company! My daughter was in a dangerous situation and her keys to her car were stolen. I called this afternoon to Lockology Locksmiths and they were on it! They dropped everything and went to help my daughter. The locksmith Eliran was at her vehicle within 15min after talking to her. The transponder key/remote was no longer turning on my '09 Volvo XC90 R-Design. I was as frustrated as I can be after looking through pages and pages of Locksmiths who couldn't handle the job. The keys to my van were stolen so I tried calling a few different locksmiths but they coulndnt do the job for a few days or a week. I find lockologylocksmith give them a call at 8:00am and they can be at my house in 30 minutes. Frank was here in 30 minutes told me how long it would take to re-key 4 door locks and the ignition key and proceeded to do so. Franks does nice work and is a nice guy, a true professional. Eli was great. Installed 3 electronic locks. I called and he showed up right away. This is what you need when you have a lock situation. You need a locksmith who will be there for you .. He was so kind and genuinely cared about my situation; my car was broken into, stolen, then abandoned nearby. No broken windows either. They did it electronically, reprogramming my key fob in the process, and punching my lock in so I couldn't bypass it with my key. Apparently they're showing people how to do it on social media especially (the American-owned) TikTok and they won't take the videos down. They left all of my windows down and I couldn't turn on my car to put them back up again. I called around told my story and everytime I was quoted outrageous pricing after telling them what happened, which car I drove, and of course being a woman. It's really disgusting how some men treat women when it comes to cars & if they think you're desperate for help; they were trying to charge me car note prices to reprogram a simple car fob. Smh. But not Friendly Locksmith! It was affordable and fair. Roy came same day and ASAP after calling him & he reprogrammed my fob in about 10 minutes. I was able to put my windows back up and park my car back in my car port instead of on the street after having my car towed. He also helped me take my battery out of the car, because they like to repeatedly steal cars if it's easy for them (they'll have to tow it away or bring a battery with them next time ). Thank you again, Roy, for being so reasonably priced and truly a Friendly Locksmith in my time of need. I'm referring everyone I know to you!
