He was going to true to charge me a lot of money$$ basically would have ripped me off.. then he asked me by phone if I had the cars registration before he even would open the car. The owner gave me the best deal locally to have a blank ignition key cut and was able to get it done quickly and perfectly. Great customer service and great at what he does. 5 dollars for a simple key duplication seems like an unbeatable deal (depending on your ignition key) Also to those who have been leaving bad reviews saying he doesn't respond, if you are using the number listed in Yelp, it is not his direct business line, and won't be able to reach back to you with that number if you call/text him regarding any services. His direct business line is 510-677-3049 and he should be able to better communicate with you. I at first tried to text him a picture of my keys for an estimate using the Yelp listed number and got no response. I tried contacting him again later to follow up and he said he received nothing but gave me his direct business number to contact him. Owner was friendly, not too difficult to understand, very flexible as to appt day and time, showed up on time, did the work, then made it as easy as possible to pay the bill, after making sure I knew that the keys work in the new lock. I did have an issue trying to pay him the way he asked to be paid, but then he agreed to take a credit card over the phone, and I quickly received a receipt for payment with a proper invoice. He showed great patience with me; he had to wait there until he was paid, and I didn't realize that he was needing to be paid right awaty. Once I learned that, I got right on it. These are things that shouldn't be unusual for businesses, but these days, they are.... I don't know if the price was reasonable or not, since I didn't take any estimates from any other businesses. I thought I could be my own locksmith, but failed miserably. I had a DIY kit to program new keys for a 2008 Nissan Altima. In the process of programming new keys, the kit turned out to be faulty and left my original key fob useless. I gave Technology Locks & Keys a call and spoke with Danny. My car was stolen and the thieves reprogrammed the car so that my key fobs didn't work anymore after I recovered the car (luckily in same condition when stolen). I recently bought a used car and the dealer only had one key fob for it. The key fob was several years old and showed its age. Being that I didn't want to have a problem if it stopped working, I thought it best to get a 2nd key fob. I called a Toyota dealer and was given a quote and told that I would need to wait for a new fob to be ordered and arrive, and then I would need to come to them for an appointment to have it programmed. I then checked Yelp for a nearby locksmith who could do this, and I found this business. I wish that I could give Daniel 5 stars plus! Both of the door locks on my old truck were rendered useless after break in attempts at BART. I wish I could give zero stars. Danny came to unlock a closet in my store back in October. After he unlocked the door we requested 3 keys. Danny neglected to tell us that the keys were $10 a peice extra. Once I got the receipt I left a comment about being charged 30 extra dollars. Danny went off, we started arguing back and forth about the extra charge. After we paid the extra charge we had to call the police on him to have him removed from our store because he wouldn't leave.
