Needed a quick re key for a house so ofcourse went on Yelp to find a locksmith. I opened a project and within minutes I got a response from Reliance Locksmith! I asked for the phone number to call them and they responded right away. They were able to get us on the schedule the same day which was awesome. Our technician Mo got here a bit early which was perfectly fine. He looked the different locks we needed changing and told us the time he would need. After a few mins he came back, installed the lock and gave us new keys! He also offered to do our garage door which was helpful bec we didn't even think about that! Our bathroom door knob was jammed and wouldn't open at all we couldn't even take off the door knob itself. We were able to get a same day appointment. Mo arrived on time and was able to resolve our problem in under an hour. He's was able to open the jammed door and install a new door knob. The price was very reasonable $125 for everything. I requested service for rekeying service. Surprisingly, I received a response on a Saturday and also had the technician out on the same day. In terms of price, they were by far the most affordable. I also did not get charged an additional "rush"/" emergency" fee for coming out on a Saturday (although to be fair, I never indicated that this was a rush project). I have relatively old locks (except for one of them) and the landlord was unwilling to swap out the locks himself. So I had to get rekeying service done. It took a fair amount of time for the re-king service to be complete after the technician had to go back to the van to actually to make the keys there but that was because apparently the locks were old and more work was needed on the keys. However, I later learned that the keys themselves were previously used (?) because the keys were not new. When I had another property rekeyed, I received brand new keys and the technician did the service in front of me. I received only two sets of keys. As opposed to the normal three that I'm used to with some other locksmiths. But that's not that big of a deal. I had checked one of the keys before the locksmith left, and everything seemed to work fine. Unfortunately, that was the good key. The other key, repeatedly failed to open the lock. I realized this after about 10 minutes after the locksmith had left, so I called him back immediately to let him know. He said that the reason that the second key probably was not working is that the lock itself needed more lubrication and that it was quite old. I agree that most of the locks were quite old. However, one key worked perfectly, and one key does not. He was unwilling to return to cut me a new key or to fix the defective key. I ended up just going to Home Depot to buy a brand new lock set and then installed them myself. Unfortunately, I wasted the funds for rekeying service and I should have just bought the new locks myself from the beginning. It was actually cheaper to buy the new set and install those. Prior to doing so, I actually duplicated the one key that did consistently work with the old locks that the locksmith had given me. The duplicated key from Home Depot successfully opened the locks. That means the second defective key I was given was a key issue and not a lock issue. No additional lubrication was necessary. I was debating for quite some time whether I should rate this three stars or four. I think that the value provided by this business in terms of overall cost, especially on a Saturday, merits four stars instead of three. I am disappointed that the locksmith did not return to fix the key that was defective and said the only thing to do was to get new locks or to lubricate the lock. That being said, I think for most people that don't have older locks, will most likely not encounter this issue. Would I use this business again in the future? Yes, as long as the locks are not old. And also, this time, I would make sure both keys work before having the locksmith leave. Mo, the no nonsense locksmith, was nice, and arrived on time. read more

Contacted to see if an electric strike can be installed and connected to a wheelchair accessible door opener. Was told it can be done. Tech arrived and wasn't sure how to connect to the door opener and advised me to get a smart lock instead. When I told him I would think about it, he told me that his visit consult would cost $150 (was surprised to hear this) but if I let him install the smart lock the cost would be $400 including hardware. I went with the latter option. He left and returned with the lock and installed it in a few minutes. He charged me an additional $40 for "taxes" (labor should not have a sales tax last I checked...) and asked me to pay over Venmo. I reached out to the owner afterwards who refunded me the $40 but told me that "I should have tipped the tech anyways." The smart lock was also a relatively cheap brand from Home Depot (it stopped working after three months). I had to also bring another person to install the strike plate which the tech from Reliance removed and it did not reinstall. In short, no up front pricing, no invoices, prices are not competitive, and (in my experience) service was not great. This business has many one start ratings -- in retrospect, it's clear I should have avoided them. You would do well to learn from my mistake! read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. We hired a technician from this business to help replace a garage door key. When he arrived to our place, the technician was rude in the way that he spoke to us but I decided to let that go. The technician tried to duplicate the key but shorted the electronics that opened the garage door. Because of this, we were now unable to open the garage door with just a remote opener. When we explained how unsatisfied we were with the work and did not want to pay $95 for a job that made the garage door worse, he became upset and proceeded to threaten us and say that we "did not know who you're messing with". Because of this, we paid him $70 to de escalate the situation because we feared that he may try and harm us. Not only did he make our garage door worse, he was extremely rude and THREATENED us as well. I doubt all the technicians are like this but this one technician ruined the business's reputation and I had to leave a review detailing our experience. I highly recommend that you avoid this business at all costs! EDIT: Now the business is trying to deflect blame and say that it is not they're technician when Aaron is the one that sent him to my house. This business is untrustworthy! Stay away! read more
