I called on Jan 3rd at 1018 to be exact. I asked the guy on the phone who answered if they would make a copy of a key with a provided blank key. He stated they could however they wouldn't be responsible if it didn't work. I stated that was fine. I asked how much he said $4 plus tax and I asked how much would it be if they made the copy he stated $6 something. I then proceeded to go in today Jan 7th and asked to make a copy. I was then asked to pay $6 something. I informed the person at the counter I was quoted a $4 for having the blank key and he told me that no a copy of a key whether it was provided by me or the company would be the same price. I proceeded to tell him I was quoted differently and gave the exact time i talked to someone on the phone. Had proof on my phone log. And he said it was only him and one other person that it could of been I talked to and they wouldn't say that price. Like I would make that up? I had already asked for the key to copied so I was forced to pay the extra money. I will never shop there again. They should honor the prices quoted!!!! read more

So I bought a key fob and uncut chipped key. I just bought a second car and I needed another set of keys. 6.90 out the door; he cut my new key and cloned the chip in under 1 minutes. I was in and out. My new key is a bit tight as it's new but it worked perfectly. I was very happy to have this done. I was really surprised it was cheaper then I thought. They do sell keys and chips there as well for your car. I was lucky enough to buy the correct key for my car so there was not an issue. You will pay more for keys and chips here if you order them online. But they did have a bunch of them in stock. I got to say I was very happy with the service and fast turn around time in and out. I had issues unlocking the camper of my toyota Prerunner. Toyota of Hayward was useless in helping me with this and the only option they gave me was to charge me 150 dollars to break the lock BUT they wouldn't be able to replace the lock. PLUS $200 to inspect the issue. I decided to look into a lock Smith instead. I found Bayside Locksmith on the front page of Google. The guy with the sf giants hat at Bayside locksmith really went above and beyond exhausted all options before resorting to breaking the lock for a fee plus the cost of replacing the lock. With a bit of guess work and fiddling with the camper, we were finally able to pop it open and figure out why it wasn't unlocking . Apparently, one of the bolts was loose which caused the unlocking mechanism to stop working. It only cost me $50 for their help but I told them to go ahead and charge me double due to the effort plus 25% tip. They saved me $300+ dollars if I had to break and replace the lock plus the 5 week wait time to order the replacement lock. Also, the other guy was nice enough to give me a spare key for the camper at no extra charge. Ethical team that won't give up until they figure it out. read more

I called Bayside Locksmith because we had a door in our office that had a different key than the master, and nobody seemed to have another copy lying around. I couldn't find a similar lock without ordering it online and waiting. Either way, I call Bayside and a nice woman answers the phone and says I can make a drop-in visit since our office is only a couple miles away and she had a tech available. I was able to remove the lock and bring it in myself. Within a couple of minutes, the technician Isaac looked at the lock and gave me an option to produce a key that would fit the tumblers/cylinder, to which I agreed to an estimate of $60 before tax. He worked on the lock for only five minutes before producing two new keys that fit the lock perfectly. It was well worth it, considering they would've quoted me a new lock for $160, and a new lock would've cost around the same. Apart from the friendly service, their shop is pretty conveniently located. And I'm glad to hear they do mobile visits, since we'll likely be needing their services in the future! I was in urgent need or rekey-ing my home locks, and I called Bayside. Xavier attended the call. he sounded very friendly and professional. Gave me a rough estimate over the phone and fixed up an appointment for 10AM next day. It was very urgent, but he said he did not have anything on the same day. Next day, I took a few hours off from work, drove all the way to my new home and waited there. Nobody showed up. When I called the office, they did not have any clue about the appointment. I had to call someone else ( who did a great job btw), to fix it. I hate to deal with unreliable people. From other reviews looks like they do a good job, but my experience with them was bad . Xavier saved the day!! I manage a large retail store in the bay area. The lock on our cash room broke at closing and without access to that room,we wouldn't be able to open for cash transactions the next day. I called Bayside at 8pm and he promised to meet me 2 hours prior to opening. Xavier was right on time,as promised. Terrible. The little office absolutely reeks of pot. Made obvious by the fans in the back pointed out a window. I don't care about smoking, but it is very unprofessional to have customers crammed into an office that they have been hot boxing. Asked for a copy of my house key to be made, the guy spent a good 5 minutes looking at it and comparing it to the key templates they have. I take it home, try it on my door, it doesn't work. I look at it and it's nowhere close to the same key. My mistake not looking at the key there in the office because, you know, I thought they couldn't mess up something as simple as making a copy of a key but they did. Go elsewhere, somewhere more professional and work with locksmiths that actually have what knowledge it takes to make a copy of a key. read more

I like using Diamond Certified companies because they go through an extensive vetting process. My locksmith was Xavier. I'm sure they're all good, but what stood Xavier out in my mind was his professionalism and speed. I asked him to rekey five locks for me. Well, some joneser snaked the tumbler out of one of the doorknobs I bought and returned it to Home Depot and I didn't notice, so they couldn't rekey that one obviously. Then they knocked the fee for one of the locks they did do off the tab, and offered to do the lock they couldn't do for free if I exchanged it for a good one due to the inconvenience which wasn't even their fault!
