This is a staple restaurant we go to every so often. They have a great menu and you get free popcorn while you peruse the menu. They also have a soup and salad bar. Everything is good here to eat, usually I get the wings beef on weck. With a soup. always so good. We also had my son's graduation party here. it is a perfect venue for a small party. Give this place a try just for the food and service. read more

Policy/menu problem! The other day, I went to the French Pub, with my wife, for dinner! I was going to order an entree, which comes with either chips or soup! I inquired of the waitress "How much of an up-charge would it be if I wanted the French onion SOUP"? I asked this question because every other restaurant that I go to, charges a $2-$3 up-charge, for French Onion SOUP! The waitress informed me that if I wanted French Onion SOUP, that I would have to pay the full price. ($7)! When I questioned her about SOUP being a choice, when ordering an entree, as per THEIR menu, she said the SOUP that came with the entree was the soup-of-the-day and French Onion SOUP was not included! (That is not what the menu says)! At that point I ordered a burger, (which was good), paid my bill and left! They should 1) change the wording on their menu, OR 2) consider charging a couple dollars more, for those patrons who would like a replacement of the same type! Just ranting! Signed "No (French Onion) Soup for you" !!!!! read more

The Pub was very busy around the time we were there; lunch at the French Pub is apparently popular. Because there are several seating areas, it does not look busy though. They have a nice menu with plenty of choices. Some classical, some with a little twist. Nice. I had the Buffalo Chicken panini. Like the wings, you can pick how hot you want it. They range it from "mild" to "flame". It has bacon and melted cheese too. A bit sloppy to eat, but it tasted great. It comes with kettle chips, fries are extra. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. She even came back to thank us for the tip. read more

French Pub - Buffalo chicken panini - American Near Me - Depew, New York

Not sure how I've missed reviewing this restaurant, as I've been eating here for years! Pre-COVID they had great lunch and dinner specials that came with an all you can eat soup and salad bar. I was pleasantly surprised that they are still serving up complimentary popcorn when you are seated. They have a great selection of food and drink with the best bloody mary in Cheektowaga in my opinion. They also offer sangria if that's your thing. Their menu has all the standard fare you'd expect, but I tend to like their specials. During the take out only phase I got the muffuletta sandwich, which I usually make a point to get during mardi gras week when it's offered. I'm so happy to see them rotating their "New Orleans Specials" throughout the year! This sandwich is so good I force myself to only eat half! It's ham, salami, provolone and an olive tapenade that they press into a panini and the cheese gets all melty and delicious! The last time I was there I found a new delicious special in the parmesan and garlic crusted three cheese grilled cheese! I decided to add bacon to beef that bad boy up and it was just delicious! I would maybe suggest serving it more like the muffuletta though because they gave me two smaller sandwiches on french bread and the crusty bread tore up the roof of my mouth a bit. However I powered through because it was that good! They also are in the process of redoing their patio if you're looking to eat outside! read more

I went for a baby shower, catered meal at French pud on Saturday early afternoon. We had the side room, to the right. They set it up with one long table down the center of the room, and also utilised all the booths. Food menu was eat beef on mini week or plain roll, turkey/ stuffing, lettuce salad with one salad dressing( Italian), penne pasta salad with Italian dressing, oven roasted potatoes with skins on, honey butter carrots. All was delicious. Staff was very attentive, helpful and friendly. Alcohol wine punch available to self serve. read more

Came here while in town for the holidays. Great atmosphere, there was a wait when we arrived but they got us seated in half the wait time. Food was tasty! I got the turkey dinner plate which was good. My boyfriend got the wings and weck plate which was just okay. The wings were not very crispy and the bun was not the standard kimmelweck seeded bun. There was also an entire additional menu other than what was posted on line. read more

Ribs are the best. Bot spicy hot, just enough sauce. Service is great. I would recommend it.

This is our go to weekend lunch spot. The food is yummy and the staff is friendly! The beer cheese soup with hot pretzel stick, yum yum yum.

Stopped in here the other day for an early dinner with my dad. There was a nice early evening crowd at the bar who all seemed to know each other and were regulars. The hostess set us and brought over a basket of popcorn. It was nice and warm and tasted fresh. Dad had a draft beer and I had a bloody Mary. It was good but I do like a little more flavor to it. Maybe some olive juice or a little horseradish? My father ordered a special which was potato pancakes and Polish sausage. There were three nice pancakes that were crisp and nice and hot. They were served with applesauce and sour cream. The Polish sausage links had been split down the center and grilled nicely. It looked great and he was very satisfied. I had a steak salad with blue cheese crumbles. It was good and the steak was plentiful. I only wish I could have had it a little on the rare side. I did ask for it that way and the waitress said she could see what she could do. When she set it down, it was medium well at best and she said "that's how it comes ". I'm always a bit disappointed with over done meats when it's easy not to overcook it. I do like the vibe of this place and will stop again but stay away from meats with a temperature. read more

More than just a neighborhood place to eat, French Pub is worth the trip to Depew for not only the food, but the service. I've been going here for years but haven't been in the longest time. Stopping in for lunch on a Saturday the menu offers something for everyone. The unlimited soup and salad bar is a great option to start. Two kinds of soup, made fresh and extremely delicious. The Sausage beans and greens and the Roasted red pepper were the perfect option for a fall day. Just looking to split an appetizer, we found ourselves torn between all of the great options. A simple chicken quesadilla was perfect. 5 huge pieces, fresh chicken, a nice crispy tortilla, and plenty of salsa and sour cream. The manager, waitress, and hostess were FANTASTIC. The manager brought over toys, a cookie, and even asked if he could bring ice cream for our young children that were a bit cranky during our visit. They did everything they could to try to accommodate us. There's a reason this place is always packed, and not just because it's great for locals. It's truly a wonderful restaurant that has never let me down read more

So this is one of those restaurants we decided to try on a whim. Well to be honest we decided we were going to try them, saw how busy the parking lot was at 4pm on a Friday and then decided to try them a little later that day when they weren't as busy. When my wife and I came back our first impression was that they had a very busy, VERY efficient and friendly staff. We were seated in 15 minutes, and our server Kaitlin was amazingly quick and so friendly. As a customer I felt like I was appreciated. Now full disclosure the serving staff there alone were a 5 star rating. They all to the last were friendly, helpful, kind and conveyed a feeling that it was appreciated that we were there. Excellent hiring practices. I was hopeful that the food would follow suit, and wasn't disappointed by the first dish we had come out. It was a Beer cheese soup that you could tell was made with real cheddar just by how the melted cheese behaved when scooping it up into the spoon. The Pretzels helped make this soup a real winner. For Dinner I went with the Beef on Weck and the Wings combo, my wife went with the French Dip (this was the reason we decided to try them, Robin was craving a french dip). I was told that the French dip was heavy but good (lots of cheese), and she was especially happy to have the option to add mushrooms which I might add looked fresh cut. She opted to have onion rings instead of fries and they were great as well. My meal however really was average, it wasn't bad by any means though. The wings were a not as crispy as I would've liked. I mean this is Buffalo, and you can get good wings at some gas stations here. The beef was really overcooked, and dried out while I was eating the wings. Both items being Buffalo specialties, I was really hoping for more. I'm hoping I just chose the wrong meal, and that I may have had better results with something else. The pickle was the best part of mine (it was a REALLY good deli pickle spear). When we come back, I'll try something else, as their menu is pretty comprehensive, and I know I'll ask to be in Kaitlin's section. She really was the best. Give that gal a raise, the service she provided was the reason my review went from a 3 to a 4, and frankly she deserves one. read more

I can't believe I've never reviewed this place, since I've been coming here for years. It had been quite a while since all six of our little lunch bunch were able to get together, so it was especially enjoyable. Their menu leans toward the usual suspects - burgers, wings, beef on weck - with a few pleasant surprises, like a lobster roll and apple walnut salad. My favorite lunch order is a vegetarian reuben. That's right. Grilled Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing. But this sandwich was a real treat, because it was made with pumpernickel (my favorite!) rather than the standard rye or marble rye. It was soooooo good. I'm reluctant to order a margarita in a non-Mexican place (especially one with "French" in its name!), but when I saw it there on the drink menu, it just spoke to me. It was delicious. Who would have guessed? Our server was delightful. A total pro, and so personable we would have gladly invited her to join us for lunch. I was so into my awesome cocktail and sandwich, I failed to take note of what everyone else ordered. Sorry. But I do know they all enjoyed everything as much as I did. read more

My burrito bowl was very good and beautifully presented. My only negatives are that the black beans were at the bottom of the bowl and there were no fresh jalapeños in the salad, or offered, to spice up the burrito. The bowl was lovely and crispy. Some of it was even in a doggy bag for later munching. Our waitress was very pleasant and efficient. She even came back to thank us for the nice tip. This surprised me. read more

The French pub is alright. I haven't been here in years. I always found their food too salty. I was glad when they finally added an extension onto to building, and actually have a patio. Just stopped in for a drink after bowling with some girlfriends. Their salad bar was always decent. I signed up for their lunch specials menu years ago when I worked near them. Same thing every day. I just stopped ordering. I may go back one of these days, but there are so many other places to go. read more

We frequent this restaurant and have always had excellent food. I love their fish fry, french dip sandwich, french onion panini and roast beef as my go to orders. The servers are extremely nice and accommodating. Some even remember what we have ordered in the past. Very caring to my mother-in- law when she comes out and dines with us. She struggles physically and verbally. All the waitresses are so kind and patient with her. We truly appreciate that especially when we know they are busy and it's an extra step to try and figure out what she's saying or asking for. We will always come to this neighborhood place. Thank you for reading. read more

I came here this afternoon to support this restaurant during the pandemic because they're a fantastic restaurant. (The last five pictures are from today's visit.) During my last visit the server and staff had excellent customer service skills during dinner out for my birthday. The food was fabulous and they brought a few cookies out with whipped cream and chocolate on it!!! I want this place to stay open and vibrant so today I ordered a lot of food. ‍ I ordered the sangria to go, the nachos deluxe, and the Buffalo's Best which is a roast beef on weck sandwich, some wings, celery, a pickle, and coke slaw. The nachos were great. I only had one bite of the weck sandwich and it was great. The sangria was really good. The wings were okay. They have a great system. You drive into the back from their second entrance, someone comes out of the back door with your food, and then you pay. I gave them cash but this establishment takes credit cards during the pandemic too. I was really happy with their system and I'll gladly return during this pandemic to order more delicious food. read more

Highly recommend! Always great food, service, and enjoyable atmosphere. Local favorite for years

My girlfriend and I decided to try French pub on a sunny Thursday afternoon... we were immediately greeted by the friendly bartender, Danelle. Ordered the house made sangria which was a perfect blend of sweet with a little tart. We then ordered the beef on weck egg rolls with a side of horsey sauce for dipping. Delicious! Stuffed banana peppers were just ok, I've never been a fan but my friend wanted to try them. Next we got the broiled haddock fish fry, very flavorful and cooked perfectly. Sides were also nicely seasoned and tasty. The house made potato chips served with the chicken finger panini were delicious! The bartender was engaging and sweet. Also enjoyed the popcorn on the bar, nice added touch! Very pleasant experience at the French pub! read more

I had a hankering for a French Dip and Weichec's was really busy so we stopped here for dinner. We came in and was told there was a 15 minute wait, which wasn't bad given how packed the place had been. When it was time to take a seat, we were text messaged to come in and get our table. Our server sat us down and our waitress, Kaitlin, was quickly at our table to serve us our drinks and get our order. She was quick with the drinks and the food. We got the beer cheese soup and it came with two pretzel sticks for dipping. It was very salty but good. I then ordered my french dip which was HUGE! It was so packed with cheese, onions and mushrooms that it was bulging in the middle. It came with french fries that I substituted for onion rings. Onion rings are good. Over all I would say the food was average, but the service was excellent! Kaitlin always refilled our drinks and also checked on us with our food a few times. When I could eat no more, Kaitin was right there with boxes and I took home most of my meal. The service was A+ but the food was about B-. Might try this place again soon. Also, very busy on fridays. read more

So glad they were open for my mom's 80th bday during the storm. We at least got to do a little something and enjoy some great food!!

Always great service and food! Newer dining area in back is a nice space and a bit quieter.

Interesting place when you first walk in. Looks newly remodeled, large bar, large clean bathrooms, etc. We went on a night where they had (very loud) live music. Waitress took us to the back seating room and sat us with some cold popcorn. Large menu, interesting and had not entirely traditional options. The wife and I split some wings as an app and I had "The Sicilian Burger" for dinner. This gave me access to a pretty good (if not oddly placed) salad bar. The wings came quick, very crispy, and ultimately decently hot, although I wish they would have been a little hotter. The Sicilian burger was absolutely incredible. Bottom line, would recommend this place highly. If this was closer to home I'd probably come frequently. read more

We came in to try the fish fry, which was ok. Not a fan of their tarter sauce. Menu looked good so we will definitely something again and order something else if we are in the area. Love the French Pub! Thirty plus years of having Kenny serve good food at great prices! Nice family atmosphere and great service!

This place has been a favorite of my family's for years! I have fond memories of coming before they expanded and getting a piece of candy and going to the "toy machine" at the end of dinner. Not much has changed, we still love going! The food is really delicious and their menu is pretty large. They have my absolute favorite French onion soup ever! I also love their selection of paninis and sandwiches. It is affordable for a few people, but everything really adds up, so the final bill is typically higher than you'd expect it to be. Not a huge issue, though, because the food is worth the price and the service is excellent! read more
