Went in for lunch, there was no wait. I try the calamari everwhere I go. They did not have it available since they were searching for a new provider. To drink we ordered El Diablo (tequila) and The Bees Knees (gin). I asked for my salmon to be medium well, mixed with the wild rice it was a delight on the palette. Porkchops were also delicious. We had one server for the ten of us. It took her some time to figure out how we are splitting the check. There were a few of us who wanted hot water and she took a pot out. The pot could only fill up three cups and there were four cups. My ice water was not promptly refilled either. I would expect better service when an entree cost $42. We had a Sunday brunch there. It is a very unique place to go to because they also have a plants/floral store, however, it is closed on Sundays. We were seated right by the plants which it is great but there was no air conditioning and we were told they cannot turn on the ceiling fans! Remind you that it was a 90 degree weather and it was HOT!!!! Given the fact that we were in that condition, we still enjoyed the food. No doubt that with the air running and the plants store is open, it would have been a 5 stars place! read more

I started with the Wedge salad and my husband ordered the escargot. Both were good. The wedge was absolutely amazing though. Next, I had the Osso Bucco and my husband had one of the specials which was some sort of white flaky fish. Both were delicious. Service was fantastic. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He kept our water glasses full and was attentive. Ambience is somehow energetic and relaxed all at once. I finally got to try this restaurant. I will say they need to have valet parking or signs or some thing explaining where you can park. I know there's street parking but we went on a night where there was a baseball game therefore there was no parking unless you wanted to pay a bunch of money. Also it is very difficult to get to because of its location near the baseball field. Now I know they cannot control their being a baseball game and it causing so many issues. But if you're going to go here maybe check and go on a night when there's not a baseball game. Once my friends and I got there I will say the experience was wonderful all the wait staff were very friendly the bartender even came over and saw us trying to take a selfie and took photos for us as well as a picture of himself which was hilarious. Everyone was very helpful the waiter was super nice shared all the specials was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Then of course the food which was the best part, it really reminded me of being back in France and everything we got was just top notch. We started with the French onion soup which had brie on it which was really good then I had the trout my friend had the osso bucco and my other friend had a salad with salmon on it. Ok so I have always wanted to try this place and I glad I did. We started off w the shrimp, scallop and crab cheesecake and the waiter wasn't lying. Very savory, very cheesy and a very interesting combination. I wish it was a little smaller but at the same time it wasn't too shabby! The wife grabbed the chicken Dijon and overall she was happy she got it bc it was just as good as the app. They had a salad special that night and she got that and loved it, sorry can't remember what it was but it was pretty good. I nabbed a classic Caesar and it too was just right. For me I wanted to try the rib eye and sadly the lost a star bc it was almost cold. But it was still good and had plenty of flavor and the dipping sauce for it was great. I wasn't a fan of the potato it came with but still decent plate. My husband and I returned from our first visit from California a year ago and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Fortunately, I made reservations 2 months prior and we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. We knew The French Hen was the perfect place to kick off our vacation and we were right! Since we took Uber, we started with a cocktail before dinner, wine with dinner and a cocktail with dessert (because decaf coffee wasn't available). The French onion soup with melted Brie was sublime, and I had never ordered or eaten French onion soup prior to that. My husband had grilled rib eye and I had the grilled duck breast and had the orange cherry sauce and Sherry peppercorn sauce on the side and both were delicious. The peppercorn sauce was my favorite and not too peppery. Our meals were delicious with a nice presentation and decent portion sizes. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée with berries and the chocolate crème brûlée and both paired nicely with the suggested liqueurs (Frangelico and Baileys both on ice). The service was excellent, and the pace in which the food arrived was perfect, so we didn't feel rushed at all. Our first time here and...impressed! This restaurant is a few feet from the ONEOK baseball field. As we parked in the Vast Bank parking lot, we walked pass the amazing ball park to the French Hen. The ambience is mellow, and hip. Quaint and sophisticated vibe as we walked through to get to our booth. The French 75 champagne and Amelia martini were superb! Our starters were the Escargot and the Scallop, Shrimp & Crab Cheesecake. The "cheesecake" was interesting, as it was very creamy and tastefully mixed in with the onion rings. The Field Green salad is absolutely delicious with its walnut covered goat cheese, lightly dressed with balsamic. Our main dishes were phenomenal! The ribeye and its veal demi-glace with the layered au gratin was superb...so was the Pan Roasted Trout with the lemon capers and pistachio crust. The grilled duck was sweet and tasty in its cherry and orange glaze. The wait staff was perfect. Weston was superb! We're coming back to this exquisite place! And make room the Banana Bread pudding. LOVE their new look and location! Once you get past the hassle of parking. I ended up parking in the bank parking lot but the parking app was terrible to use. My whole group complained about it. But that is not the fault of the French Hen, it is so worth the experience! Our server was friendly and did a great job. Love the whole vibe of the place. Okay, so the bar is great, the staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The escargot was amazing, Adam suggested a wine pairing that worked great. Jacinta was also very attentive and her Martini was delicious. The Caesar salad they suggested was tasty and different, you could tell they didn't make it at the beginning of the night and plate all the way thru the night. The special rib eye steak with pepper corns and blue cheese as it was described came our goopy and full of gristle and fat. So no marks for that. But they took the steak off the bill so full marks for that. Al in all, I will come back, there any many things on the menu I want to try. Specifically the appetizer cheese cake. Had lunch at French Hen this week. The restaurant and the atmosphere were gorgeous. The tables were set with linen and I loved the classic decor of the restaurant. As for the meal, we ordered fried oysters as an appetizer. It was my first time having oysters and I didn't find it enjoyable. They were pretty bland tasting and could have used more salt but the sauce they came with helped. For my meal I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken. It was a fine salad, but nothing particularly interesting or noteworthy. Also, it was very small in terms of portion size. The lunch was so-so. Would try again but maybe with their dinner menu. read more

I will explain the 4 star review, but I promise if you try this restaurant you will absolutely have a 5 star experience. I have a very strict way of grading and reviewing restaurants. I promised myself I would be consistent with it. It is times like this I almost hate that I do this, but I have to stay true to how I review. You can't be 5 stars from me if there are any mess-ups or complaints. I have 2 very very small complaints, but they are complaints, so I can't give 5 stars. I'm really sorry! First complaint, the bread we got, while warm, had been in the warmer too long and was extremely hard. The waiter recognized it, brought out a new plate, which was awesome, but still, not a good start. The only other small thing is the charge I got for splitting a plate. I do not have a problem with the charge, as this is an upscale nice restaurant, but I would have liked to know before hand that was going to happen. NOW...the GREAT stuff. This food was unique, it was tasty, the service was amazing the inside is clean, art is pretty, great list of drinks, amazing flavors, traditional yet fun, I could go on and on. They start you with a small cheese bread bit, which you can see we took a bite of before I got the pic. SO GOOD. The bread, once it came out fresh was so soft and so warm and so good with the butter they gave! Our first course was the Duck Liver Patte, and I promise it is some of the best you're have. A full bite with the capers, onion, eggs, and pepper is the perfect bite. A bit salty, creamy, crunchy, savory, all the goods! Best patte I have had. The steak was good. 8oz filet cut in half with asparagus, we went a little surf and turf, and while yes you'll spend money on it, it was cooked perfectly and worth it! The espresso chocolate mousse was UNREAL. So soft. A very slight espresso flavor, but enough, the fruit with it added a great flavor. I save the Crab, scallop, and shrimp cheesecake for last because it was the absolute best thing of the night. I have never heard of nor had a savory cheesecake. It literally has a graham cracker crust, cream cheese, sour cream, and eggs. Exactly like a NY style cheesecake should be. BUT, the flavor was savory. The only sweet was the graham crackers. The sauce was so buttery, the seafood was mixed into the batter, the onions on top gave a crunch, literally my favorite dish of the night. I can't suggest getting it more. I know it sounds weird, but go for it. Totally worth it! As you can see, I am a fan of this place. I honestly hate not giving 5 stars, but I did have those small complaints. Again, 4.999 out of 5. My husband and I just went here for the first time tonight. We would hands-down give this restaurant the highest score possible, a five 5 . The food was absolutely divine and our waitress, Sarah, was marvelous!. First, we were served an amuse bouche which was a truffle egg-salad bite and it was delightfully good. Then we ordered an appetizer which was a mushroom tart and my husband loved it. He said he would give it a five 5. Next, we ordered a soup and salad and the soup was divine. It was a red leak and potato soup and words can't describe how delightful yummy it was. I'm so glad we got it. Then we got our main courses and we would also rate them a five 5, they were wonderful. Then my husband ordered the Osso Buco and he thought it was absolutely delicious. The veal shank was so tender that it was falling off the bone and he said it was incredibly rich and beefy. I had the halibut in a cream sauce with crab. The fish was cooked to perfection and it was absolutely divine. I cannot tell you how good it was and I would clearly give it a five. 5. Our waitress's name was Sarah and she was incredibly nice. Not only was she very attentive, but she took the time to explain the various dishes to us while being very personable as well. Not only do I recommend this restaurant, but would come again. We live approximately 2 1/2 hours from this restaurant and we would travel again to come back to it.
