This is a solid go-to destination for almost anything you need. It is big and sometimes a little hard to find floating staff if you are searching, but you will probably find a version of what you want. Fine selection of food and prices. Check out staff are always lovely. Deli can be a little grumpy in my experience. read more

I love this store! Really great mens clothing and shoe selection. Deli is great. Grocery store is fantastic. Easy parking and very "local" with North End Seattle peeps. 3 stars only because the store is now inhabited by a large group of homeless people that loiter all day next to Tullys and in the upstairs seating area. What was once a nice spot to work on laptop and relax now feels like a soup kitchen line. I wish no ill will to these down on their luck folk, but most are mentally ill and it DOES get a little ripe with all of 'em roosted up there...Sadly, this is no longer my coffee shop of choice. Still love the store tho.. Update - DO NOT COME HERE LOOKING FOR POWER AND WI-FI- As of 9/18/2015, management has removed all plugs from both coffee shop seating areas. Hi everyone, this is a review based on different exps, from the produce aisle and selection-quality to your everyday simple store returns. First, must say several individuals are rather friendly at this store, seafood meat counter, grocery checkout, most all pleasant and very approachable. Produce? Sometimes wilted greens through the whole selection at times, understocked pretty much always on the sale items every time we shop. Love to save like everyone else coming in and lack of stock is a poor reason especially if it's a wkly occurrence. Improvement here required, we are starting to avoid this part. The staff here look a bit harried and such, Meat: good overall in most every area, including the seafood. The rest: hit and miss, it's like a variety general store and for what they have its fine but not really great on quality which is what I'd expect at this kind of store. Customer Service: not the best really at all, First it should be said, most all the individuals serving this location are great if not spectacular! You know most of us have returns, and not always have that return paperwork: (dreaded receipt as it is known now) otherwise its pretty straight forward, buy a product at this store, for whatever reason decide it's not what wanted, or it performs poorly etc.. ok so in the past or until what ever was back door decided on the customer, now even though you are returning their merchandise and in this case in a resalable condition. no receipt ? one and out, 6mnths you are asked to store the item as a penalty for not meeting a fine detail requirement, they'll tell you that Fred Meyer card is your only salvation as a record but this means you are hooked-forced into this system of tracking your purchases or else? What ever happened to a simple return? one less reason to buy here for anything if doable, 2 stars for the working staff here, not recommended as a shopping exp overall. Oh, on the bike pkng, one rack for the entire main door and used up every time you'd come by, this is about on par with the complete lack of available small shopping carts, what gives here? We see them stacked up in the corrals, doesn't anyone work here.. read more

No real grape juice frozen concentrate (several visits, but they apparently don't order it). Plenty of fake juice concentrates that are mostly sugar or corn syrup. No recycled toilet paper! Fred Meyer always has the best prices around! The Ballard location has a beer selection that cannot be beat. Got some great suggestions from the guy working in the dept. last time I was in, and they were some mighty tasty beers! Thanks beer guy! They have a well stocked Natural section which I like. Fresh rotisserie chickens are yummy when I'm tired and don't feel like cooking, but also don't have the money to go out. read more

I lost a very important receipt and they were very patient in helping me to find it in their system and print it out for me. They were so calm and helpful. Fred Meyer is doing better than ever. The Ballard store is Kroger's largest, 180-thousand-sq-feet. The iconic Greenwood store has reopened following an extensive remodel and expansion. It now rivals Ballard in size and carries products exclusive to their locations. Fresh fish is something Freddy's has to provide since these two stores are positioned at or near the home of the North Pacific Fishing Fleet. Huge wine selection and a much improved overall shopping experience. I love Issaquah based Costco, but even these Fred Meyer stores are larger and pleasant to shop. They are competitors despite radically different retailing philosophies. Nevertheless, the evil Wal-Mart still doesn't have a store in Seattle and Sam's Club always has a half empty parking lot. This place is okay. It has a pretty large selection and it's close by to me which is a plus. But honestly their prices are inconsistent. You think everything is a deal but not all of is. Take for example a 4 pack of shin ramen is about $10 when anywhere else it would be $4. They're clearly upping the price significantly. Overall its good, clean, fast lines so. read more

I like this store and shop there frequently but I do have a complaint. Every time the fancy organic peanut butter goes on sale, the fresh peanut butter machine is out of order. Every time. This week, I went to buy tofu and they were out of my brand, but had plenty of another, more expensive brand that was on sale. Even at the sale price, it was more expensive than the one I normally get. There seems to be a pattern of pulling things that compete with featured sale items for the duration of the sale. This thing with the peanut butter machine strikes me as dishonest and possibly illegal. read more

I'm slowly getting fed up with this store due to the bad produce and seafood. I've had to return fish twice due to it smelling the NEXT morning in my fridge which means it was out for a few days before I purchased it, gross. I've also had to return poultry once or twice and have all but stopped buying the fresh produce. My last three trips I've had to make a second stop at another supermarket to buy produce since Freddie's was so bad. The Napa cabbage was peeled to the core and limp from age, it should have been throw out a least two days before. I'm a diehard fan of this store so I really hope they get it together so I don't have to switch to another. In general I buy mostly fresh goods so this is the most important part of my trip and I'm starting to feel I can't depend on this store anymore and that really sucks! Another change I've noticed is I haven't seen the manager in months so maybe that's the reason the store is going downhill so fast. read more

I would rather remove my eyeballs with a spoon than attempt to shop at this mega store on a Saturday afternoon. IT IS ALWAYS PACKED!! And it's usually packed with a bunch of really rude, self righteous patrons who have no problem brawling for parking spots one space closer than the one they have, or mowing you down with their cart in isles big enough for carts to pass one another. Even the employees here are stressed (who are also usually pretty pleasant despite the insanity). While I will say that it is a great place for one stop shopping (not necessarily the best deals though) the only logical time to visit this place is at midnight on a Sunday while heavily sedated. read more

I accidentally left my coupon folder in a cart one Thursday evening right before closing. I called the next day and they said that they had it. I wasn't able to pick it up until Monday because we were already halfway to Portland when I realized it was missing. They assured me that it would be there when I returned. When my husband went in to pick it up on Monday it was gone. Went back one more time and called. Even though the 2 employees remembered the my coupon folder, neither could find it. I give the selection and merchandising a 4 and the staff a 2. The cashiers don't seem to care and have little sense of urgency. They seem upset when customers bring their own bags??? Self checkout is the worst... when the system notices a problem and the screen tells you that an attendant has been called... the attendant will simply clear the screen remotely without telling the customer. when the item is rescanned and the same issue occurs, the employee will simply reset the screen again... when self checkout employee finally comes by; she is obviously irritated with the customer... it is not my fault that the system doesn't reconcile the weight of branflakes... just accept that front end staff doesn't care; but merchandise stock, and buying team does well... read more

This Fred Meyer pharmacy really blows. -Bad customer service. -Bad attitudes. (especially the dark haired woman who is always there - SO RUDE!) I have yet to have a good experience at this pharmacy. I'm always waiting wayyy longer then they say for prescriptions (one time I waited 1.5 hours!! Sitting in the chair staring at them for 1.5 hours... for a freaking TUBE medicine - they didn't even have to count pills) My most recent experience went like this: -Asked to be put on the 'auto refill' program for my birth control. I was told it would be filled a few days prior to the date and they would call. Well they never called, and then I realized that I was a day late on my pills. So, I call and refill the prescription. The next day, I still hadn't gotten a phone call which is abnormal for this prescription - it's usually ready fast. I call them to inquire - they tell me it hasn't been filled yet and to 'hold on'. Then i wait on hold for 15 minutes until I decide they've forgotten about me. I call back. They tell me it hasn't been filled and won't be ready until the next day. That means I'll be 3 days behind on my birth control pills. They tell me that they are out of my prescription (and EVERY fred meyer in the area is out). I tell her about me supposedly being on the auto list - and ask her to make sure I am..she says "yes, you're on here". I said okay...so is this a common occurrence, then? Because this should have been filled days ago and no one informed me you were out of the medicine. She just said "Yeah, I don't know what happened." I understand business run out of things - them not having it in that day is not the issue. The issue is the series of events leading up to them not having on the day that I finally had to call in my supposedly-auto-refill prescription. This is just one of many! Though its convenient to have it there and shop at the same time - I can't deal with it anymore. Switching pharmacies today. read more

I went to the Fred Meyer plating event. It was epic. It's called fuscia Saturday because they have amazing prices for fuscia starts, but they sell all kinds of flowers and plants. The flowers are beautiful The employees helpful. And Fred Meyer even plants your flowers for you, providing the dirt and the labor free. I go every year, and for me it signals the real start of Springtime. Thank you, Fred Meyer. I LOVE the spring planting event! read more

My mother and i were shopping there at fred meyer and when my mother went to order a tuna salad with stuffed tomatoes.. well it turned out the tomatoes or at least one of them was rotten and tasted nasty. My mother asked for a refund and the Deli Manager got all snippy about it... My mother is real old and has bad health problems.. she cannot handles stress very well and certainly doesnt want to die from rotten tomatoes. We got our wedding rings in the jewelry department. for three rings, both of our wedding bands and my engagement ring, were a total of less than $500 with a lifetime warranty. I love the way my rings look, as well as my husband's. And when one of our engravings was done incorrectly, they were able to fix it and send it back to us in less than a week. read more

I practically live here, not that that's anything to brag about. Its just too useful, and its worth watching for sales happening on non-grocery items. Fred Meyer is a well-kept secret in a city that is dominated by high-price designer grocery stores. Freddies has a great selection of organic foods at a fraction of the price you pay at Whole Foods and they have great sales on the best items. The produce is amazing, an again the sale prices are unbeatable. Having everyhting under one roof is helpful, especially on rainy days when you'd rather not have to drive to a grocery store, a nursery, a hardware store, a book store, and an electronics store just to get your chores done. read more

Remodel job has improved the store. However, they need to fix the curbs so carts can be rolled out all exits; fix the doors to all be automatic (we have carts and such to push); and, move the garden section back in the main store, but leave the plants outside. read more

I like this place because you can find anything you need here. I've always been impressed with their customer service as well, mainly because they have such a flexible return policy. I bought some cheap rum here the other day that tasted horrible, and I was able to easily return it the next day, no questions asked. I wasn't expecting it to be so easy! My one complaint is that they do not have a gas station here which is too bad because I'd love to be able to redeem my Fred Meyer points for gas at this location. read more

I made appointment for 2 P.M. After, I was waiting for one hour and 45 minutes for the eye doctor. When, I question the staff what the problem was? OK - so they do have everything. Over the years I've bought at least one of each thing in the store from normally OK employees- but now, I think not anymore after several over the top rude episodes. Oh, I'll still have to go sometimes - it is so convenient. But I'll work hard to avoid it when I can. When its bad its very very bad. Tonight the checkout clerk SLAMMED my basket sideways and dumped it (an act no doubt fatal to any tomatoes and avacados in said basket) because I hadn't emptied it out for her due to the fact that the conveyer belt was already rolling away from me (toward the soon to be rude checkout girl) when I got there. The manager I tried to discuss this with stared at me with eyes so empty I knew it was futile to get any reaction. So I will return the electronics I bought that day ($5.99 at Amazon; $29.99 at FM! ; ($32.00 vs $49.99) because Kroger does not deserve my business.
