I always feel safer at TJ Maxx than out in the Northgate area which can have some unpredictable scenarios. The staff at this location are hard working, keeping the isles and racks neat, and I hard saying this but it doesn't look like Ross. The toy area is straightened and you don't see shoes everywhere on the ground and feel like you're at a picked over estate sale. I miss the Maxx downtown and the two levels. Great job, and the cashiers are always super friendly and keep the line moving for efficiency. The snacks by the register get me every time. Watch out. They're a good deal. read more

Prior to today, I used to swing by TJ Maxx to buy storage solution items, beauty sponges or the rare Pat McGrath eyeshadow palette sighting. However, my recent visit has left me feeling uncomfortable and annoyed. I am in the process of moving and walked over here to pick up some storage items for my bathroom. The person at the cashier was pushier than usual to get me to sign up for a TJ Maxx credit card. She then asked me if I have photo ID and I said no just to get her off my case. She then tells me it's against the law to not have a photo ID on me (which is false) and goes into how you never know with how things are nowadays. I am so tired of watching the shoplifters leaving this store. There are rare times that they have security, but in my last 2 visits I saw shoplifters walking out with arms full of shoes. There was no security. I am tired of being witness to this crime. If TJMAX had a security agent at the door we would all be safer. I will not shop her again unless I see a security agent. It would also keep the employees safer. The store has a lot of great items and I used to enjoy shopping here, but I feel the company is being cheap by not having a security guard at the door. Customer service is not a priority for management at this location during the covid-19 era. They rudely pushed everyone out of the store beginning at 15 minutes before closing. By the time they had herded everyone to the checkout the line was long and people were no longer socially distanced. I have worked retail before and never have I seen or heard such an aggressive form of shooing everyone out at closing. It was verbal pushing coming from more than one caucasian manager and the tone was more than rude, bordering on unacceptable. This is bad business practice and makes customers feel not only unwelcome but less likely to want to support this business. The non-white employees at checkout were all friendly and didn't rush folks out, so that saved the store a star today. I even heard the two managers (one female, one male) talking about a customer in the store after she left and laughing about her. Poor form, folks! Sadly I won't be back again anytime soon based on this negative experience. Emergency Shopping for a carry-on luggage this Thursday night, my sister recommended me to go to TJ Maxx. She is such a bargain and knows where to get goodies without paying too much. After dinner, we went there just 30 minutes before the store closed. There's a section full of luggage and bags. We were there for 10 minutes and decided what I should get. Plus, we also moved to the shoes section and tried on several pairs of shoes. The end of my shopping at TJ Maxx, I bought a carry-on luggage, Swiss (it matches my backpack) for $39.99. This location has a serious problem with profiling black customers. I went to the store a week ago and I noticed a staff member following a black teenager until he left the store. When I was in the check-out lane, I witnessed an elderly white woman staff staying really close to a black customer as he was navigating through the store. When I looked around, the very few staff members who were on the floor were in close proximity to black customers ONLY. It was a really eye-opening experience to see this, I think there should be a compliant to corporate for racial profiling for this location because witnessing this made me feel very uncomfortable. I wish I could have said something in the moment but to be honest I did not feel comfortable conveying this message to the very people who are in agreement to treating their own customers this way. I ended up purchasing a mirror that day but I don't feel comfortable returning because that would in effect support what the staff members are doing to their customers. read more

The men's selection is pretty bad but the selection of dry foods, kitchen, bathroom and women's clothing is large. The location has easy access to highway 99 and main roads, easy to notice from traffic, very clean, clean changing rooms, helpful & friendly staff and lots of parking. #tjmaxx read more

My friend has been on a home decorating kick so I've been to more TJ Maxxes in the past two weeks than I really care to admit to. I'm not into decorating my house and she is. I can appreciate the items that are carried in this store, but it's not something I would want in my house. I ended up buying a set of oval make-up brushes. They were a great price! The cashier who checked us out really was so patient with us -- my friend and I are very Lucy and Ethel (I'm Ethel!) when we go out and do things. We are unintentionally hilarious. Well, I like to think we are. We did have the cashier in stitches, though. =) I like how the store is organized. My summer professional wear in Seattle is not really up to par as I just avoid any face to face interaction with my clients in hot weather. Since my pre-shopping internal monologue has recently transitioned from: "YAY!! J Crew!!! Nordy's!!! BR!!! WHATEVER I WANT, MAYBE EVEN BARNEY'S!!!!" to "Goodwill? Value Village? This place is a cross between Tuesday Morning and Target with a dash of Big Lots. Overstocks, closeouts and some first run stuff. Those who know me generally consider me a rather boisterous snob. Persnickety and pious, I am not one to frequent discount stores. And yet, a cheapskate runs through me. After all, every nickle I save on day to day items can line the corporate pockets of some far off Ritz Carleton. Case in point..I needed a new shower curtain liner. $10? $8? try $4 at TJ Maxx for a quality product. A steal. Or A high end piece of luggage, I saw at $300 I bought for $69. Costco: SUCK IT! And yet, the merchandise is definitely hit for miss. Women's clothes in rolling fields of hideous colors and eye jarring ugliness hide the hidden Jones New York gem. I started going to TJMaxx in the mod 80's when it was brand new and the first location. I loved. Past 5 years terrible manager, rude. The last time I was there I had my new cell phone stolen. They must have gotten new management recently. I've always stopped in this store when I was doing a Northgate/Target shopping trip. Up until a few months ago, my visits were usually short. The last few times I have been here it has been MUCH better. The aisles aren't cluttered with stuff, things are organized, there are displays etc. Now if you aren't familiar with this chain to begin with, lower your typical department store standards. I kind of like TJ Maxx and this is probably the best location around. You can find great bargains here - everything from shoes to bags to exercise equipment to gift ideas. It's fun to browse or even to dig if you are looking for something more specific. It's in a good location near Northgate and is fairly big, so it's packed full of lots of items. I have found some really great stuff here over the years. It can get really busy here around the holidays, but they have a pretty quick checkout process and the employees are friendly. read more

Me, hubby, and a couple of the kiddos went here the other day as the hubby needed a couple short sleeved shirts. He found 2 he liked, I found something and so did the kids. We tried Ross right up the street first to no avail and weren't sure what to expect here but we walked away $50 poorer for things that would have probably cost twice that somewhere else...the dress I got for my little girl was from a high end boutique. We were doing houseware shopping and picked up a few accents items, a toaster, small stereo, side table and small artwork, couple cups and small plates, olive oil, portable coffee mugs ($2.50)... I have also gotten numerous work shirts and pants for very affordable prices.... TJ and I go way back. Great bargains can be found as well as perfect inexpensive basics. Purse selection is either amazing or extremely unfortunate but I've found some great deals on name brands throughout the store... Michael Kors, Hobo International, DKNY, Ralph Lauren, Lucky brand, True Religion. Employees have always been pleasant and don't stalk you just because you happen to be carrying a messenger bag. Jewelry is so-so, cute furniture and house decor items. Love the bedding crap. Inexpensive lingerie! If only TJ Maxx weren't so out of my way we'd be best buds. This store always has some amazing deals and items for anyone's home. My wife and I just moved for the new year and found some great items for our home and the prices were much cheaper than the other stores competitors! My only negative star was the Clearance area had tons of stuff in it that wasn't marked down they definitely need to clear the non clearance items out of the area. read more

This TJ Maxx location is ok... nothing special. The The staff were friendly but it's really small and they don't have much to offer. I wanted to see if the inventory was close to what we have here on the east coast and it pretty much is, but as noted before... I was disappointed in the offerings. You don't understand though, despite having stuff and things and plenty to look at and possibly purchase if I need said things, these pretzels actually warranted four stars. I can't really describe why I love TJ Maxx so much. I mean, maybe it's the excellent jewelry selection (which btw, Marshalls doesn't have), or the fact that I got a pair of London Fog boots here for $30 (the same style that you'll pay $80 for at DSW), all of my plates for my table setting, stockings, and labels like Nike & Adidas to work out in. The labels here are a little more high-end than Marshalls, and I won't even pretend to mention Ross since they're a joke, so yes, I love coming to the Maxx when I want to update my workwear wardrobe since I really yet can't afford to get coordinates at Nordstrom. read more
