Since my last review, things at this store have gotten worse. On a lot of levels. There are tons of…read morepeople who full on run, sprint and power walk (which is not walking) upon the doors opening each morning at 9am sharp. The managers say to everyone "please do not run, walk only, be kind to others, blah blah blah" yet the stand there at the door and the registers and let them do what thy just loudly asked them NOT to do. I don't understand how anyone runs in this establishment. There are no emergency situations like earthquakes, power outages or fires that warrant running at any time of being in the store. People are going to get hurt! One of these people is a young college child, his name is John. He runs every day to get to the piles of music cd's on the shelves so he can find the high dollar ones to re-sell on ebay and amazon. He used to be a high school track star and has almost twice fallen down taking a corner too sharp. Yet the managers don't say a word to him to slow down, or kick him out for 5 or 7 days like they do to others in the store who constantly are always pushing, shoving others, or being rude and obnoxious. This young child John, 2 days ago as I went to grab some cd's came right across my whole hand and knocked them out of my hand and tried to pick them up as if to steal them from me! I told him to back off and if he ever touches me again that I would put him on the ground as self defense. He rudely badmouthed me and told me "too bad so sad". The very next day, he did it again but this time he tried to take the 4 cd's I had just grabbed to look at right out of my hands! I bit my tongue, but on my way out I pulled aside one of the managers who I thought would listen and try to do something about. He told me the next day (today) there would be a manager at the front door to confront and talk to him as he entered as well as another manager in the back to make sure he wasn't bothering others. Well neither thing happened and this knucklehead just sprinted in the store again and right by the manager 5 feet from the cd's and she didn't say anything to him or the others who were on a full on running sprint marathon to pick the aisles clean of the new items put out overnight. Korenna and Ingrid are the only female managers at this store. Barry, Nate, Joe and Joel are the male managers. Joe is quite honestly the only one who listens to customer complaints and sticks to what he says. This review along with another letter is going to be written to the LDS Mormon President as well as the Washington State Labor & Industries department.

Four fitting rooms -not managed by staff, you have to knock to know if in use. Lots of options…read moreattire wise. Three full round racks of jeans (that's what I was looking for) plus some on the end of a few square racks. Sizes aren't easily identified so you have go through them all to find what you want. At a glance around, the racks are labeled and things are color coded. Staff wasn't overly friendly, but perhaps they were tired as it's the day before a holiday. Overall a successful trip and will return if I need a cheap item! The jeans I got were $6.61! Yay! Also they're only open weekdays so that's a thing to work around.

We walked by in the evening and a blue flower vase caught my eye so we stopped the next day. It was a small shop but packed with an assortment of clothes, dishes and small surprises. I love to browse in thrift shops especially when it's not just junk. I bought my vase, at 50% off. The elderly ladies who volunteered were also sweet. Worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood and like thrift shops.

I heard them talking and she was saying 'she liked the job except having to help 50 year-old people and older people. '. She said it's a fun job " if I don't have to talk to 50-year-olds'. . Well, I am over 50 years old. I don't bother anyone. I don't ask them questions, but I'd like to know I could if I'm shopping and have a question. I understand the younger generation disregard older people like we're useless. I pray that they make it to my age. And if they don't want to, I pray they die before they turn 50 so they don't have to experience old age . But that being said if you don't like working with older people, you should probably not be in customer service because we do shop a lot. But if you work in customer service, you have to be smart enough to know that you will deal with all kinds of people She kept going on and on about how useless older people are, and she can't stand talking to them I feel bad for her grandparents. That girl might wanna look for a new job that she doesn't have to deal with people my age. What she said was extremely discriminatory and offensive. And she was talking like I wasn't even standing there like she wanted me to know how useless I was as a 50-year-old woman. She should really be ashamed of herself and I hope the store has a nice talk with her to let her know what she did was completely discriminatory.

I only speak as a person who purchases pieces from here, not as a seller. The store is on the smaller size and can get crowded especially on the weekends. The staff is extremely friendly and very welcoming when you come in. They have a wide variety of brands ranging from Target, Zara, Patagonia, Asos, H&M. I have purchased a lot of winter and work clothes that I absolutely love. The dressing rooms are spacious and if there is ever a long line, the employees just write down your name so you can keep shopping around. When you purchase your items, you get to donate to a nonprofit, which is pretty cool! This Buffalo Exchange is on a busy part of Ballard so it is tricky to find parking. You might have to park a few blocks up and walk.

Uhhh.... Nope! Around $40 for 8 things, breaking down to $5/piece, when I'd noticed (for example) an average t-shirt would be priced at around $20. So, I smiled and passed entirely. Ready to leave and seeking out all of my clothes, all of my things deemed "yes" were spotted on top of a cart, all piled up like I'd already agreed! Damn, what a sad scam. My last complaint is ... all (every single item!) of my things were just haphazardly tossed back into the bag and box, not a single item was re-folded nor any care taken whatsoever after rooting through them. Yuck. The young folks working there were friendly, but..... really?! The treatment of my clothing entirely negates any friendliness from the young folks. So, Buffalo Exchange.... THIS is how you encourage or secure repeat customers? Piling things up, willy-nilly, no care taken after a truly meager sum has been offered?! Nahhhh. The store is so aesthetic and thoughtfully curated, it's like the kind of bookshop that makes you want to read every book on the shelves. The LGBTQ+ selection was excellent and very visible, not tucked in a corner, which immediately made the space feel welcoming and intentional. The vibe overall is just really pleasant and warm, you can tell it's a place that actually loves books and the people who love books. Left very happy with my finds and already thinking about going back.
