I came in yesterday and I believe the store manager was Olin. Very tall and very very helpful. I shared how I work a lot of weddings and first time getting into a BR suit. As this is the only Banana Republic in Seattle anymore, I think they were doing a great job of keeping the brand afloat. BR has also done a really nice job integrating the website and the physical stores as they now allow online purchasing and either shipped to your house or pick up at store. Lastly, nobody has sales like a BR sale! read more

Now that the downtown BR location has closed, this is the only store in Seattle where one can shop their items. There is also a BR store on the Eastside in Bellevue Square. This particular store is located within the University Village Shopping Center, near the Amazon Store, Ding Tai Fung, and Joey. The small parking lot near the store is always full so the best option would be to park in the covered parking garage. If you plan to spend less than 10 minutes in the store, there is a pick-up parking space near the back of the small parking lot that is hidden in a little alcove. read more

I generally love this line but they have organized the store really oddly and there is far less choice than before. Shame :(

They sent me 2 of each item (identical ) and now I have to figure out how to return them or give one set away.

This new look is like a Cuban Furniture store...very little clothing and the clothing looks like you would wear something in Miami. There was more furniture for sale than decent style of clothing. Just to look at the Pima t-shirts now they bring out 1 rack with a few shirts. Not sure the direction it's going but disappointing. read more

This used to be my favorite store. It was my one stop to get a quick professional wardrobe. The new remodel has totally sucked the spirit of the store. Very limited selection and sizes. The boutique feeling is horrible, and it is extremely sterile. I already had my eyes on some new items on the website, but only a few of them was on display and none in my size. I am heading over to Bellevue. Hopefully, they will not copy this concept! I go to a store as I need clothes within the next day for an event. No, I am not going to a store to order in stuff. I go there as I need the item today for a business meeting within a day or two. BR has been perfect for this as I have always ended up with a purchase. This time I did not even pick up a "safe" worktop. There need to be more clothes on display. Now it looked like it is all picked out and there is nothing available. read more

I have actually had a good experience until today, i bought a whole ward drobe last week love the product and love the prices. The problem i had i was in auburn washington and went to the store, it was in a mall most of the stores were open there gate was down they were standing there. I asked if I could pick up a delivery, they said no the mall is closed until 11 am but again there were plenty of people standing around were they could of just handed my package, I feel there was no customer service, i am leaving out of town cant pick up my clothes. So now they will be returned and Ill get my money back. Because of lazy employees they lost a sale.. ill only shop online for now on read more

I love this location of BR. It's not ever super busy and they are really friendly and helpful every time. We stopped in here needing a few things for a short-notice funeral out of town (but we didn't have access to a clothing steamer) and found perfect items that were a bit wrinkled. We asked if they'd be able to steam the items and if we could come back and pick them up later. We were able to do just that and get all of our errands done in between. We were able to pull up at the curb and run in to grab the clothing items quickly and easily. Thanks local BR store! I know we can always count on you in our time of need! This location has a good selection of sizes including petite and typically a fantastic sale section. The poor score is a reflection of the bad customer service at this location. The manager (?), a woman with gray hair is very unpleasant to interact with. She makes customers feel as if she's extremely put out to assist with another size, process a return or ring up a purchase. She clearly doesn't care about customer experience at all. Clothes here are hit or miss for me. Luckily they DO have a petite section with the popular stylings. Again it's hit or miss depending on the season. I like the semi professional or casual looks. It's just that there are times, a classic dress, shirt, or blazer may have some weird tassels or frills attached to it. I do appreciate for their new selections, they don't go overboard with some of the trends you'll have to replace in a year or so. Customer service has always been great. This store has one of the worst customer service when it comes to alterations. I bought a trench coat online, and when I wore it for about a week one of the buttons fell off! I brought the coat in several months later to have them reinforce all the buttons for no charge since most of them were not sewn on very securely. A week later when I took my coat home, I realized that they resewed only the right side of my coat! The rest of the buttons on the left side were untouched and still hung loosely by its thread. I was a little irritated that they did a half-assed job when the instructions clearly stated to resew all the buttons. I came back and told them what happened. The girl behind the counter apologized what happened and agreed to have the tailor redo the buttons on the other side. I came back a week later but only to find that my coat was not there. One of the employees explained that the instructions on the alterations note were not very clear, and they ended up having to go back to the tailor. She also told me that they should have called me when it was ready in order to avoid confusion, but it said my coat should be ready by today according to the note. Umm that itself is already confusing enough since I was not aware of that exception. She said it will not be ready for another week! I was super irritated. She apologized for the miscommunication and offered to have it ready for me earlier if I like, but I just told her to make sure my coat gets done correctly. I thought I was going to come in for an easy alteration job, when it actually all turned out to be one big miscommunication. If the tailor had followed directions correctly the first time, none of this would have happened and no one's time would have been wasted. I feel like this is also an example of how some of BR's clothing is poorly manufactured with lack of quality control, leading to much time wasted for everyone to fix the problem. With that said, I will avoid buying coats from BR for awhile. read more

I had to upgrade this BR store to a 5-star solely because of John. He was manning the men's register today while I was waiting in line to purchase my (faux) fur vest. The ladies in front of me were taking a while getting their returns processed, and John came to let us know that there's no line at the men's register and that he could help us. YAY! When he rang up the vest, it didn't register the store-wide 40% off promo. Upon hearing this, I must've looked poor or semi-suicidal or both because John volunteered to manually check it in the system. When the system didn't recognize the promo either, he said he could check with his sales supervisor because he knows they've had the vest for a while. DOUBLE YAY! Way to go above and beyond to validate my belief that the world revolves around me! I mean... To get the best (deal) for the customer! His sales supervisor ended up confirming that he could give us the discount on that vest. Even if we didn't end up getting the discount, I really appreciate that he explored all options to make sure we would walk away with the best deal. I'm a happy (faux fur clad) customer. read more

I am a big fan of Banana Republic for the styles, fit, and price...I usually hit up this location at U-Village simply on the basis that it has readily available parking, they offer a really good selection, and they usually have a fantastic sale section. The staff have been really accommodating when I have wanted something in particular and they didn't have my size. On many occasions they have called other locations to see if it were available and have had it put on hold. I seriously felt like I was getting a Nordstrom experience...but at a Banana Republic! This is my favorite Banana Republic in all of the greater Seattle area and the Eastside. Like another reviewer stated, this location ALWAYS has tons of stuff on sale. I always find shirts and pants in the sale rack here that are more than 30% off the original prices. They also have a decent sized petite section and I can usually find the smaller sizes on the first visit, without calling around to other area stores. Everyone is very helpful here and personable when you check out at the counter. I normally wouldn't review stores, but this one is just fabulous. read more

The worst customer service ever! I just went to the shop to return an item I bought online. The gentleman who served me was somehow pissed off by me returning the item (that was the first time i returned an item to BR and have never wore or damaged it by the way). He aggressively tossed out the item to the basket and was mumbling something while he was serving me. He roughly threw the customer recipe to me and said nothing...What's wrong with him? Maybe his day was not as good as he wished, there is no way he could behave to the customers. I was going to say something to him but just left. I didn't want to deal with this awful person. Love Banana Republic. This location is great--well organized, typically has a bunch of styles and sizes and their staff is friendly but not pushy. This location always posts signs outside when they have sales or "Happy Hour" deals, which is great marketing, draws you in but includes the fine print like "final sale" or "sale items only", you get the picture. They typically give good customer service. This store does carry all the Monogram and Heritage items, like the downtown location, but they do have lot of the great go to basics with a twist for the season's trend. You'll always find something appropriate for your occasion at BR. read more

Warning to non-white customers: Don't expect to get good customer service here; or service anywhere near the level of all the white customers in the store. I have been to this location three times. Three strikes, you're out. Each time I've gone to the store, I've had multiple saleswomen ignore me but then greet every white customer who enters. White customers get asked quicker and more often if they'd like to start a fitting room, and same thing for once they've tried on their clothes. I've asked myself if the treatment I receive is not because of my skin color but because I've been dressed more casually than others in the store. If that's the case, then I feel like the store is taking a page right out of Pretty Woman. I'm pretty disappointed by the trend at this Banana Republic, but it's certainly not the first time I've experienced this. (Anthropologies all over the country, I am looking at you.) read more

This really doesn't bother me but when I go to pay they have the nerve to ask who was helping me out. You guys obviously know there's no one working mens. I love this place...I usually hit U Village to check out a sale at Gap and then make my way over to Banana Republic. I blow right past the full priced stuff on the manequins and head for the sale racks in the back. I think on an average day they have more items on sale/clearance than they do regular items. I can usually find something cute for a reasonable price. Tip: if you love that top but they don't have it in your color or size on sale anymore, come back in a couple of days. They seem to get pretty backed up with the fitting room rejects and it often takes them a while to put stuff back on the floor. read more

It's a chain so it's pretty much like every other Banana Republic you've ever been too-- except for they actually have a petite section with stuff in stock! Being vertically challenged, it's always frustrating to go into a store and be told "oh, we carry that online!" I can't try it on online, can I? Customer service is friendly and helpful, too. The people here know me. They do at the Bellevue Square location too. Banana Republic pretty much epitomizes my style and this store is nice and big, has parking (sort of, but look at least they offer it unlike the downtown location) and a petites section! I have to say, I've had mediocre experiences at other BRs in the past but my shopping experience here totally made up for all of that. I needed a suit for an interview, and BR seemed like the easiest place to go. Both the sales girls who helped me and the store manager were super helpful without being pushy at all. They took the time to figure out what I wanted and needed, suggested similar sales items in an effort to save me some money, encouraged me to get a couple of shirts that I could return later so I would have lots of options when deciding what to wear and remembered me when I went back to the store the following week. BR's clothes also seem to have a bit more variety than I remember, so I was pleased with the selection too. It's really the service that makes a shopping experience great, and the U District BR did a great job. read more

I wondered into the store just before closing. I fully expected to be told that the store was closed and shown the door. But, this was not the case at all. Everyone was so pleasant!! I was looking for something to wear to a luncheon the next day and was genuinely helped with my selection. And, Joyce even offered to steam it so it was ready wear in the morning.
