We love Frank's!!! We try to come here everytime we visit family in Htown! We leave very satisfied, full and ready for naps Food was great, bacon was crispy from start to finish. Our waitress was nice and attentive, we sat, ate and left. Can't wait to be back next time :) :)

Franks signature breakfast with fried fish grits and biscuits.

Large large portions at a very reasonable price. A late Tuesday breakfast was still crowded, and it maintained that way as the hour turned into lunch. It has a classic diner atmosphere although the bar counter area isn't very large so there are not much seating there. Staff is very friendly, efficient, and attentive. Ordered the Frank's signature breakfast with fish and was shocked to get two large fillets. I ate everything but had to additionally season the food, especially the grits. Luckily, there was a large bottle of hot sauce at the table.

Delicious breakfast, decent wait time. I did witness the cook texting on his phone with the same gloves he was cooking and picking up pancakes with but other than that everything was fine. It's a diner type of place and a Houston staple.

Good fast service, casual ambiance and good home style food. Good coffee. Clean establishment. Hadn't been here in a while but it's still the same. Reasonable prices. Hole in the wall that's been here forever. I do recommend trying them out.

It's old...who cares. Was clean and the waitstaff was attentive. Food was exactly what it's supposed to be. Not the best sweet tea tho. It was perfect, exactly what we expected and wanted. Thanks Frank! We will be back.

I really liked this place, from the service, to the open grill where you can watch the food getting prepared, and the chicken wings were crispy and big. Hash browns were the bomb. I think the waffle was good but the texture was a little mushy, not sure if it was undercooked or just the way the batter is. Anyway, definitely would return if in Houston again.

A friend visiting from out of town is really into diners. During his stay, I chose the vegan option of hash browns and black coffee most days. Meanwhile, my friend explored the entire menu and had no complaints about anything. Even when the diner was busy, the service was fast and friendly; my coffee cup was never empty. It was the kind of diner experience you would expect, reminiscent of visits with your grandparents--done right.

France would be sad this is supposed to be French toast

Server was fantastic the food was terrible I ordered crispy hash browns and I got barely cooked hash browns. Floor manager came by and said oh we're too busy to make them crispy. The bacon tasted good but it looked like it was cooked 3 days ahead they don't have real butter it's just oil on the grits everything was bad. The French toast was completely floppy and soggy

Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Ambiance- Clean. You're not going for the esthetic...you're going for the food down home breakfast. This place is always consistent. The only thing they need to work on is their sweet tea. They're fried and grill pork chops, chicken wings, cheese eggs, hasbrowns and French toast are EVERYTHING. If your grandma can cook well...just imagine if your grandma's cooking and Waffle House had a baby, it would be called Frank's Grill

Great mom and pop breakfast spot. Extremely affordable and nice portion sizes. Definitely would come back!

I've actually done UberEats from this place many times for my wife that works down the street, and she always has great things to say about their food. So, down the road the other day and decided to come try their lunch menu. As soon as I saw chicken & waffles, you know I had to give them a try. The waffle was pretty amazing which is what my wife usually says about it, and the chicken wings looked great and had a good taste, but they were VERY chewy and i had to literally pull on the "meat" to eat them. I figured it was just a rush day for them so I didn't say anything and just ate my lunch, but literally an hour later, my stomach was in knots! I'll give them a pass because my wife loves their breakfast, but they should really make sure stuff is actually cooked before getting it out of the kitchen.

It was raining, so we entered on the backside of the property and stayed at the pizza & pints area (indoor casual eating spot with amazing freshly made pizza. We also had the best Caesar salad). Great place for couples and families. The crew was so friendly and dozens of beers on tap. Katz' iced tea, too. Large, clean restrooms. More comfortable and more accessible than St.Arnold's (which I also love). This is a must try.

They have a full sit-down restaurant, bar, outdoor patio, biergarten, gift shop, barber shop, dentist....ok I may have made up the last 2. When we got here, we 1st went to their gift shop so I can get a sticker for my garage wall and ended up picking up a tin tacker too. They even threw in a few free glasses. Score! Everything was reasonably priced too. From there we went to the Biergarten because they had a huge TV to watch the football game. To my slight disappointment, the tap list outside was limited and they didn't have flights, so we went back inside. We grabbed 2 seats at the bar and I got my flight. The tap list is very large, and they have 5 rotating tap room exclusives that they call "Fun Series". I always love to see this. Take notes Shiner! Their flights are 5 beers each (always love the larger flight boards.....also take more notes Shiner with your measly 3 beer flights) so I got 3 different IPA's, a brown ale and a pumpkin lager. I usually hate pumpkin beers, but this one was quite good. My favorite was the Rodeo Clown Double IPA. The lady friend was able to get a non-alcoholic beer that they also brew. We didn't get any food, but I will certainly be back to try it.

The dining room is chic and feels very upscale but comfortable with a large open fire kitchen that was really fun to watch while dining. They were very on top of service with both our dining captain and waiter checking on us throughout the evening. For appetizers we ordered the deviled crabs, tuna tostada and wood roasted carrots. All were great but I especially loved the carrots which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main course I had the chicken and dumplings, husband got the NY strip, our friends shared the whole fish and we had the cabbage and crab rice as sides. Everyone was very happy with both their main courses and the side dishes. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they sent out a s'mores inspired sunday for my birthday which was both thoughtful and sublime. Overall we were very impressed with our meal. Food was delicious but veeeery indulgent. We will be back.

Between me and hubs, we had a Pan de campo, an order of Gulf Oysters "casino", (4) dressed oysters, a 16 oz dry aged ribeye, a snapper entree and a side of crab fried rice. We finished almost everything except a quarter of the Pan, about a quarter of the rice, and about a third of the ribeye. All were great dishes and would definitely order again. We skipped dessert because honestly none stood out to us. He said their popular dessert is the souffle but they were sold out. Our total before gratuity was about $250 and that included one cocktail. Hubs had their "classic" old fashioned which he said was excellent! Overall, highly recommended if you don't mind the splurge or for a special occasion!

I wanted a pork chop or steak and saw this place and their pork chop. It looked great online. When I get there I ate at the bar. It was a coffee bar. Again- I should have done more research. So I was given a menu then I ordered the pork shop. And then the waiter said is that I and proceeded to give me my total. Another thing I have researched. It's counter service. Then I said I just wanted water. I waited for it and he said we have to help ourselves to drinks (later). So ok. Fine. Then later he told me they were out of pork chops. So I got the short ribs with the grits. The ribs were tender. They were tasty. The grits were good. The veg was good as well. I'd give the food a 4 but I would think, since they make their own pastries, they would make a bread to serve with dinner! But no bread so that drops it down a point or 2. I had ordered (pre-paid) for the bread pudding. It was good, legit bread pudding. The place itself is a coffee bar so it looks and acts like a coffee bar. Now to the coffee bar. Someone there ordered and espresso drink. They don't have a knock box and so he proceeded to knock out the very old puck into a trash can under the sink then rinsed it. Then the shot glass looked like it had been there unrinsed from the morning. Then as he proceeded to make the espresso- he had to fill the espresso machine (with tap water). Last- it was Aerosmith on repeat. I like them as much as the next guy, but how about some variety. I guess if I lived in the area I might go back to try their breakfast. Anyway- I ubered there and I wish now I would have just eaten at the hotel bar.

We were greeted and given menus. My wife likes Reuben sandwiches and I love and scour the planet for hamburgers. My wife ordered the Reuben and Rebecca with chips and pickles. She absolutely loved it and said it was the best Reuben since we left NYC 20 years ago. Like I said I am a hamburger aficianado. I will always take a burger over a steak. (not my wife, who thinks that is sacriligious). My bad was that I stopped reading when I read Cowboy Meal which was listed as a burger. It was an AWESOME looking plate and worth just looking at it BUT it was not a burger: it was a salisbury steak!!! I almost cried! On the plus side is that it had a lot of bacon!!! Was it tasty? Meh. Was it a juicy burger? No Way! My side was the smoked paprika salad which was very good. Leaving you walk past their desserts which even a blind person will stop in the tracks. I ordered to go a lemon bar which was very heavy and not skimpy and wife had their apple pie. They didn't make through the night!! The service was excellent and friendly. Will we come back? Absolutely for I want to try their burger. p.s. Really clean bathroom.

Millie's is a popular neighborhood seafood restaurant in Houston's Oak Forest area, known for Southern and coastal-inspired dishes, craft cocktails, and being genuinely family-friendly. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, including patios and a dedicated play area for kids, which already sets them apart. They have private parking spots out front and a large outdoor patio facing the street. We walked in without a reservation and were seated right away. They brought out a high-chair for our son immediately. Inside, the restaurant was busy, but it was a colder morning so the front patio wasn't being used much. They also have a separate backyard patio with a turfed, enclosed area where kids can safely play, which is a huge plus for families. We ordered from the brunch menu. [BRUNCH] +Lobster Roll for $38 - Maine lobster poached in butter, served in a brioche-style lobster bun with fries. My wife ordered this with fries, and I ordered the same dish with a Caesar salad. This lobster roll was excellent. They served the lobster folded into thick Texas toast and brought extra butter on the side. Easily one of the best lobster rolls I've had. It's definitely pricey, but absolutely worth it as an occasional splurge. The fries and salad were good, but the lobster roll completely stole the show. - 5/5 [KID'S MENU] +Basket of Fried Shrimp for $7 - Served with fries or fruit. My son didn't eat much of the shrimp, but I thought it was solid. He ate all the fruit. He had already eaten at home, so hunger may have been a factor. For the price, this was perfectly fine. - 4/5 Overall, Millie's Kitchen & Cocktails really impressed me. The lobster roll alone is worth returning for, and now that I've seen how seafood-forward the menu is, I'm excited to try more dishes on future visits.
