I must ammend my earlier review. Been eating here for years and never saw/realized they DID have a chili dog on the menu. Ordered two tonight with onion rings. They were delightful!! Old school chili cheese dog with cheese and onions. Good snap on the dog with the chili enhancing but not overpowering the dog. I definitely will be ordering again. Love you Mytiburger.! Stopped in this morning since 713 day has to be all local of course! The breakfast biscuit made to order was great. Had some extra seasoning. My bonus son's tacos look great. He ate them too fast for a photo tho. The tortillas even looked fresh. The service was fast. The inside could use a bit of a cleaning which is my only meh part of the visit. We enjoyed our first visit to mighty burger and plan to return. We had one bacon burger, one regular hamburger, and an order of onion rings. Everything was made fresh. It was delicious. The ambiance was like going backwards in time about 50 years or so. The people behind the counter were all very friendly. The portion sizes were perfect. At the next visit. I grew up in the 'hood, went back recently for the first time in ages. Was so excited to see Mytiburger still there. It was a staple of my childhood, lots of fond memories. But.... then I realized it is not the same at all anymore. I mean, the food was still ok. The service was still friendly. But the wait was still long, and the food was just ok. It used to be ok to wait 30 minutes for a burger and fries because it was a thick juicy made to order burger and fresh fries. When its the same little thin precooked patty all the other fast food places use and the same frozen french fries, there's nothing to set it apart and make the experience special anymore. And I dunno, maybe it was just an off day. I hope it was. Don't get me wrong - its still comparable to something like what a burger - in both price and quality, But that's the thing - their niche used to be, they were better than that. read more

My visit last week has caused me to show some love to Mytiburger and raise my score from 4 years ago by another star. At the counter I ordered a Mytiburger, onion rings and drink combo for $9.69 and added an ice cream dessert with chocolate syrup and almonds for $1.69 more. I was given a playing card, the Ace if Spades, to identify my order. The burger and rings took about 10 minutes to come out and when it did I surrendered my card. I thought the burger was very good taste wise. It was solid in weight and dressed except for the onions I had them hold. The onion rings were plentiful in the bag and hot. I enjoyed them as I did the burger and it was a filling meal. I asked for the dessert after finishing. It was served in a tall styrofoam cup with a lot of soft serve vanilla ice cream (they were out of other flavors). The chocolate syrup and the sliced almonds went well together with the ice cream and made for a nice finish. I would have liked more chocolate syrup with that much ice cream but at $1.69 it was a deal. I like Mytiburger. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. It is a true "local" burger joint that Houston should support. I must get by here more often. read more

We stopped in for the first time this evening and was really impressed. The food is great and we liked that it was a small unique restaurant. My kids loved their kid meals, and my husband loved the buffalo burger. Fhe ice cream is wonderful too. The service was great and all of the employees were so kind. Mytiburger, an Oak Forest institution for decades, is still alive & kicking. Burgers are of course great; however, my new favorite is their fish sandwich, one of the better ones I've found. Large portion of fish on a properly sized bun with whatever adders you desire. Price is 'industry' but well worth the money, plus fries or onion rings. Free refills on fountain drinks. Stopped by Mytiburger after a round of disc golf to make sure we are doing our part to keep local owned Houston restaurants afloat. We brought friends who aren't from the area as well and ranted and raved but unfortunately, our compliments came to bite us in the butt. All in all, there was nothing spectacular, it was a regular burger undercooked fries and a long wait time even though there were only 2 other parties in the restaurant. Our friend who is a new houstonian ordered her food at the same time as us got her food after we had already finished eating. Mytiburger has the recipe and ambiance to be a great burger shop, however they need a better system to ensure quality and timely deliveries for food. The food is really good. Old school drive-in vibe, made with love. This is important, though: It has come to our attention that some people in the neighborhood are concerned we have a homeless man working for us. They have said it's unhygienic and we're taking advantage of him. He has been here over 3 years. He does live on the street and he's battling mental health issues. We pay him well over minimum wage to clean, pick up trash, dump trash cans and move boxes. He does not cook or handle food. We've tried multiple times to help him. We feed him. We get him clean clothes. We tracked down his family. We've arranged meetings with resources to get him off the streets. Because of his mental illness he will not accept the help. We don't want to run him off. He's a good person and we may be the only stable thing in his world. If it bothers you he's here, I'm sorry. Hopefully when you go to write a review or talk about it to our neighbors you include this part of the story. The old owner Kathy once reminded me "There but for the grace of God goes I". She always did everything she could for anyone who needed help. We will continue to honor that here. read more

Groupon has presented another winner. I see why people keep mentioning the costumer service. You really don't get better service than this. When you envision service with a smile, that's this place. They literally took my order, in the rain, without hesitation and without complaint. There was a constant flow of customers the entire time I was there. There are a few places you can sit around the building if you like dining in place. Parking is ample enough for at least 20 vehicles at a time. The menu is home style flair. It's a simple menu to decide upon if you want traditional American food. The have fried pies in a variety of flavors, so you know this is a good place to get fat. I already feel wordy, so let me give you an eating synopsis: The banana shake is phenomenal. Smooth texture and consistency the entire slurping. The burgers does not taste like a mass manufactured mouthful. They take their time making and cooking your items. The service was quick and the food was hot. The burger had fresh ingredients. The sides are worth experimenting with due to price and portion size. The fried pickles were not disk of grease and slime. They know what they are doing in the kitchen. The apple pie was disappointing because it lacked filling and lacked a cinnamon taste of any sort. Overall, everything was fresh. I'm definitely visiting this place again. The prices does not bother my frugal meter at all. Next time I'm trying the house cut chili cheese fries. If you are not a fan of fresh taste and ingredients, then skip this place and go to a fast food joint. $20 can go a long way at this place. read more

I am very impressed with Mytiburger! Food: the meat is grilled to perfection. We got two bacon cheeseburgers and let me tell you, they are full of flavor. Tasted so good! I enjoyed every single bite! The onion rings were decent. The real winner was the tater tots. I liked those a lot more than the onion rings. Every single bite of that burger was tasty! This place has been serving up epic burgers for a long time! I am surprised this is is our first time trying them out. Definitely won't be my last time. These burgers r not flame grilled or anything & the patties are very very thin but they work OK for a burger fix. I didn't taste a seasoning. I added fresh guac & BBQ sauce to my burger (at home) to make it work. Onion Rings - Perfection! Smooth battered, huge onions & portion, fried nice & crispy with a bit of sweetness to them. Ate every one! Also added 2 onto my turkey burger. Sweet Potato Fries - Superb! Crispy, sweet & piping hot! Large Chicken Strips - Fried very crispy, lots of coating/breading could have used less. The fries changed recently for what reason? I usually get onion rings but my wife gets fries and they didn't go over very well. Hamburgers are not what they were years ago. Last visit was April 25 and now the onion rings are out of a bag...suck big time. The thin patties were pink in the middle and the trimmings are trash parts of lettuce.
