The best burger personally in Houston! It's a bit of a drive for us, but we will always make our way to Hotline when we are in Bellaire. After we ran some errands at the Hong Kong Mall, we did a pick up order for Hotline Burger. You do it via phone, and honestly, the service is so quick. We picked it up at the window, already had paid and made it home. The fries were still crispy by the time we got home, and the hotline burger is a classic and super delish. I do not mean to offend this establishment by giving three stars. This venue is far more than what I had expected, being adjacent to a gas station. This truly is a hidden gem, a hole-in-the-wall worth indulging your curiosity. If you are looking to grab a burger and go, this is a great place to do it. This establishment specializes in halal smash burgers, and is a must try to those who have halal dietary restrictions. It even serves beef bacon as an additive, which is a concept intriguing unto itself. The burgers are great quality and fairly priced, I would prefer these burgers over fast food chains every single time. That being said, I would not recommend this venue as a dine-in experience. There are no cashiers to talk to, no drinks but limited amounts of bottled water and canned soda, and extremely limited seating. Why 5 stars? Because this is probably the best smash burger I've ever had. --- --- --- Smash burgers are all the rage, but I have not fully bought into them. I've had some good ones, and some meh ones. But THIS one was as good as it gets. If you like Cane's sauce, you will love Smack Sauce. It really is the perfect condiment. And when paired with a perfectly cooked smashed patty, it's hard to imagine a better lunch. I also ordered some smack fries, which are loaded with a bunch of stuff, including the aforementioned smack (crack) sauce. Guess what? They were also amazing. The only bad thing about the meal is that I felt like I could have eaten literally twice as much. Part of that was because the burger wasn't very big, and part of it was that it was so amazing that I didn't want it to end. It's located in a parking lot with a gas station. When we walked in, there were no people inside, including employees. Well, the employees were in the back. There were two iPads set up for customers to order on, so you don't even interact with anyone until someone comes out with your food. Honestly, it's probably that way, as it's on you to put your order in right and the business doesn't have to pay for a cashier. I live nowhere near here and have never been in this area before, so I will probably not be back, but that's only because of geography. There is a guy waiting to explain the kiosks if it's your first time. He was really nice and the kiosks was self explanatory. Loved the substitutions. They are on the end of a gas station next to the car wash. There is eating inside and a large TV. It looked clean. Hubby got the patty melt and he said it was really good. They are large! I used Waze to try and find this place, and it took me to Bellaire, so I would copy and paste the address if you use that platform for GPS. I found out after I got to their current location, that Bellaire is actually their future location, but it's not open yet. I heard about this place from Jazy, and after reading Zain's review, I was ready to try it! Food - I ordered the Hotline burger. And the Smack fries $5.99 - which were yummy, just as I had read in the reviews. They also had two special burgers, Rodeo and Croissant. I went with the Croissant burger $12.99, since I was curious. I belive, it includes a fried egg, pickles, smack sauce, cheese, and the 2 smash patties. I ordered my food to go. Once I received it all, I became scared and nervous it would be soggy by the time I got home. So I just ended up dinning in, and ate the croissant burger in house. I'm glad I did because I don't think it would have held up well on my long drive home. It's uber buttery and rich. The fries and other burger I took home, they held up. Service- was smooth. First and for most, this place has been popping up in all of my feeds on IG, FB and Yelp, and I get it, I now know why I had so much FOMO when it came to this place, but it hands down DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! I ordered the Hotline burger and my son got the kids smash burger with cheese and only mustard, and then we shared some smack fries, and oh baby oh baby!!!! Where does one start when it is all soooo good! I'll start off by saying that they give you your food in a paper bag and the burgers come wrapped in paper, as well as the fries in a paper box, meaning everything is recyclable! Who doesn't love that. The Hotline burger was sooo good and so fresh! It was piping hot when I received it because they don't make it until you order it! It was a huge double stacked burger and the crisp from the smash covered edge to edge! the cheese was so yummy all melted and gooey and then topped with just the right amount of smash sauce, onions and pickles! The fries, oh the fries! I am so glad we ate there because I would've gotten in a car accident trying to eat those and drive! The fries were topped with cheese, onions and the smack sauce, and it was just enough. Not drenched so that the the fries were still crispy! Whatever they are slinging those fries around in to season them makes them have the perfect crunch and texture along with that great sauce! 10 out of 10 for me, and I love love burgers. Cons: the place always appears to be closed but it's a poorly done tint job. 5% tint up on they windows. Smash burgers deliver but a heavy on the sodium. Funnily enough, both my wife and I got their patty melts (completely skipping the burgers) and we were blown away by how deliciously flavorful and juicy they were. Everything is simple but done right! No truffle aiolis, no foie gras, just some simple ingredients done right. The patties were seasoned to perfection and the toast that held the patty melt together had a satisfying crunch when biting into it that made the meal more memorable. This place is one of those grab and go type places so the service was very quick and friendly and the ambiance on the inside had that cyberpunk-like feel to it. My wife and I needed one more night at a Hilton to retain our rewards level so we selected a hotel on Hwy 6 just north of I10. Loved this burger place! The smash burger was almost perfect. Everything inside the burger worked well, the sides were crispy, and so were the fries. The service was alright considering there was only 1-2 people there, but it did take a decent amount of time for the food. Just FYI the place only has a few seats inside, and it's on the side of a gas station. I took a star off because it was 17$ for a small sandwich, fries, and a drink... which would be understandable for a full size restaurant or maybe a bigger sandwich, but not this. My friend invited me to try this place out. Smash style burgers are one of my favorites. I love the nice crispy sear you get on the thin patties. This place is next door to a gas station, but don't let that deter you from trying it out. The interior isn't much to look at, but there is seating available if you prefer to dine in. This is much more of a to go place. The menu is small, straight forward and simple, and ordering is done entirely on a screen. My kids burger which is essentially just a single patty burger was tasty, and I enjoyed their signature sauce that came slathered on it. I was on instagram one day and came across hotline burger's page because someone on my feed had checked in there. I was so fascinated by the whole concept - especially with them being halal, that I immediately started following them on ig. I found them to be a little far from where I live but after seeing them repeatedly on all of my friend's ig pages, the FOMO became real. I finally caved and decided to make the drive. And omg, it was so worth it! They have a smashed meat burger. I did not really know what this type was until I started doing some online exploring before I came here. Apparently what you do is "take a big handful of minced beef, loosely packed lest you'll end up with a beef-puck, and then slam it down onto a very hot, flat surface (cast iron pans work perfectly). Then - and this part is key - smash the mound of beef as flat as you dare with a spatula." Thank you, google. Upon entering, the first thing I noticed was that they have a self ordering station. This is always a bummer for me because I never know what I want from a new restaurant I am attempting to try but thankfully they have a pretty condensed menu so I didn't really have any issues with ordering. There were a couple of folks working behind the counter, not really working the register and they were able to answer some of my questions. Anyways, I ended getting the Hotline Burger which is two crispy beef patties topped with their smack sauce, grilled onions, cheese (slice of American) and pickles. Along with this I got their smack fries. They do not have fountain drinks so I had to get a bottle of coke. The burger tasted great. It was what you would expect from a burger of this type. I have had this type of burger a few times before and I am usually not a fan but that night, they made a convert out of me. The beef patties and cheese combination with the hearty drench of the smack sauce all goes together so well. You just want to keep eating it one bite after another. And then there were the smack fries. OMG!!! The fries were sooo good!!!!!! They had a slice of cheese melted halfway on top with their smack sauce poured all over the top with a hearty dump of grilled onions. Bite after bite I wanted more and more. The trick is to mix it all together and really make sure that all the cheese and sauce covers all the fries inside the styrofoam box. I am just so glad that I decided to make the drive. This is a great option for anyone who is a carnivore. They use to be in the conservatory Downtown and now they are in a little strip with a gas station next to it. This is a win-win as the burgers are cheaper (and bigger) due to the assumed lower cost of rent. There is a minimalist approach of no cashier. There are two screens at the counter that you use to order, and you pay and take a seat until it's ready. I HIGHLY recommend putting your phone number in because they don't call your name out when they bring your order. You are just looked at like "are you gonna come get your food or what?" I opted for the hotline burger with fries. The fries are the perfect level of crispy with a flaky exterior. The burger patty is perfectly crisp with that sweet, sweet Maillard reaction. Smash burgers seem to be all the craze these days, and there is no shortage of restaurants doing it in Houston. This spot has been popping up on my social media feeds for awhile, so I made it a point to check it out while I was on that side of town. I walked in during lunch and I had the place to myself. A gentlemen sat on a stool behind the counter and told me to order at the kiosk. Later on he was a little more friendly as he roamed the dining area to see how I was enjoying my meal. The self ordering kiosk is user friendly and easy to navigate. The menu is fairly small, which to me isn't necessarily a bad thing. They have four burgers and a couple of fry options. I went with the Hotline Burger and substituted jalapeno relish for the pickles. The upcharge for that seemed silly to me as I just took out one topping and added another like topping. I went with regular seasoned fries for my side. The food came out pretty quick in a brown paper bag. The burger wasn't pretty to look at, but that's expected with a smash burger. The burger was done to perfection with the crispy, caramelized edges that gave it an extra pop of flavor to the already perfectly seasoned beef. I believe American cheese should be the only cheese for burgers so I was happy they used that on here too. The bun held up well with the sauces and relish. This was a really good burger. The fries were nice and crispy and seasoned great. I washed it down with a bottled coke. I do prefer a fountain drink, but not a big deal.
