Y'all, don't let the "gas station burger" look fool you. The restaurant is located in the same strip as the gas station tucked in the corner. As soon as you walk in you will notice the cool interior design. The staff was nice and greeted me as soon as I walked in. Everything was clean, neat and hip. Menu is very limited because they specialize in only burgers and fries. So don't go in there with the intention of ordering anything other than a burger. I got the hotline burger and my bf got the classic burger. The food came out relatively quick and fresh. The aroma of the fries already got me drooling as I was unwrapping my food. Picture doesn't do justice but the food is bomb!! Packed with flavor and pretty decent size too. I was stuff! This joint is rated pretty high up there on my burger list. I love that the venue is very clean including the restroom. You can tell they take care of this place. While everything was very good, the only teeny tiny thing I would change is for them to adjust the salt seasoning on the burger. It was just a tad too salty. I would definitely come back. This place is still relatively new and I hope they stick around for awhile! I highly recommend y'all to check this place out! read more

10/10 Across the board, They are customizable, Hotline Burger, sub grilled onions for crispy onion, added bacon, added Swiss cheese. Smack fries, sub grilled onion for crispy onion, added bacon, spicy seasoning (the only downside was full size bacon, not chopped, hard to eat with fries) It is self-serve ordering so we didn't have a ton of experience with the service, however the little that we did was great, lady working there was very sweet. I can't speak on the ambiance as I went on 4th of July 1hr before the dinning room closes, it is in a peculiar location, next to gas station. read more

Hotline Burger is one of my favorite burger places in all of Houston! You can put their smash burger up against any in the city. I've been here several times and each time the quality is consistently high. My fiancée and I always get a double smashed burger for each of us and an order of fries to share. Their burgers are smashed perfectly to where it has the crispy skirt, but somehow the patties are still juicy. The size is bigger than what is offered at other popular places and the price is cheaper too! It's a win-win all around. This place doesn't get enough exposure but I promise you Hotline Burger is worth the drive! They're opening a second location on Bellaire and Gessner, where the old Twistee Treat used to be, so hopefully that helps inform more people on their amazing burgers. read more

I was craving a burger since I've already been cheating on my diet this week so I came to Yelp and stumbled across Hotline Burger which was not very far from me( perfect!) the restaurant is located in a gas station shopping strip so might be hidden if you're not looking for it but I also realize I have seen this spot as I have driven by this area before. The inside is pretty small but there are tables and stools if you would like to dine in side. I came around 8:15 PM and it wasn't very busy so I was able to walk right up to the tablet and place my order. Or maybe took about 5 min for the order to come out so no crazy wait. I ordered the Hotline Burger with a side of garlic Parmesan fries. They are made to order so it came out hot and fresh! The fries were wayyyy too salty for me. I usually eat my fries by itself but i needed some sauce to balance out the flavor and a little water to wash it down. The burger however was pretty good. I love a good smash burger with crispy edges and the sauce definitely added to it! read more

OMG! Today was my first time coming here, and I did not exp this burger to be one of the best I've ever tasted! I am overly satisfied with my meal! I had the bbq jr. burger and now I'm regretting not getting a double! it was sooooo delicious! The burger was alright, but the fries were amazing . As advertised the patty is "smashed and crispy" but with every bite I just kept waiting for the juicy bite I'm used to with other burgers. This style of burger isn't for me, but I can see why others may like it. Similar to how some people like thin Oreos versus the original. Onto the game changer, the fries! The flakiness and crunch filled with flavor with every bite is what bumped my ranking from a 3 to a 4. We ordered to go, but by the time I got home, we had eaten most of the fries because they were just too good. The restaurant is in the same plaza as the gas station. They have touch screen monitors for you to order with. The burgers do not come with tomatoes or lettuce. read more

The west side of Houston is home to some good burger joints and Hotline Burger is up at the top. In a small strip center anchored by a gas station, Hotline can be hard to find but it's worth the hunt. Hot and fresh, they have a simple straightforward menu of smashburgers executed perfectly and absent the usual plethora of veggies that tend to mask a good burger. There's simply no need with good, well seasoned meat. Fries too are top notch, battered and hot. Service matched the food. Hunt it down people. read more

The Hotline Burger was out a sight delicious. Notice the crispy edges on the burgers. This is a double meat, double cheese with their special sauce. The burger was juicy and delicious. The fries were also of the chart great. The fries were lightly crispy with their special sauce and cheese on top. I really appreciate the menu being so straight forward and not a crazy amount of options. Little room for error when it comes to how you want your burger. I love smash burgers and have to say the patty melt was A1 along with the extra crispy extra fresh fries. Service wise there is not much interaction with the staff but after a quick rundown of how the kiosk works you are good to go. Service was quick and the guy at the front was nice. I will say it was quite warm so we took our burgers to the car but no biggie. read more

Hotline Burger whips up a delicious, modern smashburger that's difficult to find in Houston. I ordered the Patty Melt and a side order of fries and that were both *chef's kiss* good. You can tell by the taste that they use premium ingredients and really care about the quality. Also, the ordering process isn't from the Stone Age and instead of an attendant, they use a self-help kiosk so that you can take your sweet time crafting the burger you want. Nice little burger shop next to the gas station. You order from a kiosk and I like how you can customize the burger with ddifferent things. I got the BBQ burger. The meat had good flavor. Their kicker sauce is like a spicy big mac sauce, which I really liked. The parmesan fries are very good. They don't have lettuce and tomato, though. Definitely would come again if in the area. read more

Ok so this place was EVERYTHING I was expecting ! And more . I ordered the food to go because it is not around me and it just so happened to be 10 minutes from a doctors appointment I was at. I had been trying to try this place since they were at the underground hall , I finally made it to the new location . Location - Stand alone and next to a gas station . Pretty cool vibes when you walk in and the service was fast , I even got to order my food on the kiosk . Super cool. Burger - this burger was literally everything I was expecting , it was juicy and succulent , it was greasy , it was melty and hot and the added jalapeños turned it up a notch . Easily the best smash burger we ever had. The sauce on the hotline burger and fries was perfect. Fries were perfectly crisp. This food is excellent. The Hottest smash burger in Houston! I highly recommend this place if you are this side of town. I was getting gas and next door I saw this joint and thought I was going to give it a try. Was expecting more based on everything I'd heard online and from my peers. Wasn't bad but definitely felt a tad underwhelmed :/ The smash on the patties were really nice, the lacing was some of the best I had. Also, can never go wrong with a martin's potato roll. Listen to me, having tried smashed burgers from all over houston, austin, dallas and san antonio and overall texas (including trill burger, no hate), Hotline burger rings up at #1. This will be the best smashed burger you've ever had. they're located near a gas station and provide self service however the workers will provide help if needed. The food came out in great time and i could not recommend this place more. **i also would say this establishment is more of a to-go place, however they do offer a seating area w tables if you are interested in dining in.** read more

Came here a few days ago about 20 minutes before close. Ordered the hotline burger, patty, ranch, and garlic parm fries. It's probably one of the best burgers I've had in houstons. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. The food was fresh and hot. Left my card there. The owner called and stayed after it was closed to make sure I got my debit card. I'm glad this place is far from me because damn I'd be back every weekend. This is one of those places that is simple but masterful. 10/10 read more

This burger joint never fails to deliver amazing food, no matter the time of day or which location you visit.. I first tried it during their opening week, and when it came time to choose a lunch spot to meet a friend, it was an immediate choice for its affordability and convenient location. The burgers were as fantastic as ever, and the fries were perfectly crispy. We found plenty of seats available when we arrived, but by the time we left around 1 pm on a Saturday, the place was packed! Very cool smash burger place makes you feel like your back in time. Highly recommend to dine in had two burgers (classic and hotline) and two different fries (ranch and smack) both were very delicious. Service was quick and staff was very informative. I reallyyy wanted to love this place because I'm obsessed with burgers. My husband ordered the patty melt and I got the hotline. Honestly, we weren't impressed. Both burgers lacked any flavor, the only thing I could really taste in mine was cheese. We visited a few months ago but judging by the other reviews, either we just got a really bad batch or they've vastly improved since our visit. Overall I think it's a good option for those in the area but I personally wouldn't go out of my way. read more

I think this is the best smash burger I've ever had? It's a crispy, gooey, umami bomb and it was amazing. The fries are pretty solid too. It's randomly just in a gas station and you have to order at a computer terminal. Not sure how many times I'll be in that area but if I do, this is kind of a must stop now. read more

Excellent burger of the smashed variety that has become so popular. Honestly, not the best smashed burger I had this week but the fries were excellent so that made up for it. I'm afraid they maybe listened to another reviewer that complained about the salt level and scaled it back. You got to go back. Hammer it with salt and pepper. Somebody else was whining about the music he and "the wife" were subjected to and when we went it was painful elevator music. Anyway, I digress. Really good burger. Hot and juicy. I found out about Hotline via instagram while planning an annual trip to Texas from Florida. Suffice to say that after trying them recently, they are going to be a mainstay on all future Houston visits for us. Came in late on a Tuesday evening. The place isn't big (located in a gas station building), but is very clean, nicely decorated and I wouldn't mind eating in here , which we did. I got their regular cheeseburger (which I shared with my girlfriend) while my friend got a patty melt. They nailed it. I had a strong hunch that these folks knew what they were doing based on the IG pics but the first flavorful bite confirmed that Hotline knows exactly how to make the perfect smash burger. Very well executed in terms of getting those crispy lacy edges right while preserving a nice juicy middle. A nice seasoning and toppings And plus points for the Martin's potato buns which are just right for this type of burger. It was so good I had to let the man up front know we appreciated what they were doing. Burgers are commonplace in Houston, but true smash burgers a lot less common and well-executed ones even rarer. If you can appreciate a truly great burger, Hotline deserves your business. read more

Established in 2019.

Hotline Burger began in the Summer of 2019 as a nameless pop up serving SoCal style smash burgers at bars and breweries. We took the positive feedback and turned it into a food hall space in Downtown Houston in 2020. Once the pandemic broke out, we were no longer able to sustain our position through the next year and decided to not renew our stand. Fast forward to 2021, we found an opportunity to sign 2 new locations. HWY 6 being our first brick and mortar (HWY 6 & Briar Forest), and Hotline Burger 2 located in Chinatown (Bellaire Blvd. & Gessner Rd.)

The toppings also went well with the burger and it surprisingly didn't just all fall apart as soon as I started eating it. I'm also a sucker for chili cheese fries and am thankful to have some place close to get them. Their chili is a bit on the liquid side and I prefer a more chunky sauce but the flavors are great and when the fries soak it all up, it all comes together anyways. The patty is about 1/4 lb and tastes similar to a home cooked burger. I ended up setting the burger down and just eating the patty with a fork since I didn't like the taste of the cheese, sauce, or the entire burger as a whole after a handful of bites. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried it but this is not a burger I would come back for, especially at this price point.

We thought the burger and fries were good as well. They cooked my burger well done as asked and the jalapeño bacon jam was delicious and not spicy. This is a nice spot with a big covered deck if you prefer to eat outside. Parking is tight but I'm they have a sign saying they validate for a parking garage. We took a Lyft and that made it easier. Overall, we like this place and appreciate the good service and fresh, good food.

Their starters have a variety of tasty bites that include the white truffle eggs, wicked wings, prosciutto-melon burrata, Mama Pauley's meatballs, and a very addicting chipotle pimento cheese dip. While I appreciate the vegan-friendly hippie chickpea croquettes, it needed just a bit more seasoning.
