Very high quality beef. "One way they're working for a more sustainable cattle industry." This is part of RC Ranch. They have a meat market next door and then there's a steakhouse. And they opened out this outlet for 44 Farms to sell their ground beef, so nothing goes to waste. A lot of beef in the burgers. Limited menu, but there is a veggie burger and kale salad for no neat eaters. Great shakes. Limited inside seating.

Located inside of the Houston Farmer's Market, Underbelly Burger came into the scene just 3 years ago and is a part of the Underbelly Hospitality family. Their mission was simple, which was to specialize in locally sourced meats to create the the best burger in Houston. While I think it's a good burger, it's far from being the best. The vibe is casual and comfortable. The crowd has always been very light during each of my visits, but there is enough seating for a quality solo meal or small group. Since they close at 6pm daily, I imagine the lunch crowd is proably their busiest time here. Service is quite good overall, but one's mileage will vary as always. One thing I like immediately is the fact both their burgers are double patty and very simple with lettuce, tomato, American cheese, and their house sauce. The 44 Farms Angus burger is my preferred of the two, but the R-C Ranch Wagyu is certainly no slouch. The quality of the meat is definitely good, but doesn't pack the hype that I had hoped. They also have a vegetarian version (housemade veggie burger), which is on par with their bacon sausage hot dog for being somewhat unmemorable. The chicken sandwich is a notch above both, especially when combined with those ranch powdered fries. I have also indulged in their milkshakes a time or two, and I think the cookies and cream is my preferred shake of the bunch. When I first came a couple of years ago, I thought the prices were a tad high for the portion, but now I think the prices are normalized. Foodflation can be such a jerk sometimes. I do think that Underbelly Burger still serves as a necessary option at the Farmers Market. I am thrilled for their second location in Spring Branch and hope that it can deliver on some of the things that this original spot missed.

No frills restaurant in the Houston Farmers market area for a light snack. Ordered a chicken nuggets with fries and drink for about $13. I heard the burgers were good but my daughter loves nuggets. They came out piping hot and were crunchy and juicy with a ton of fries. Service was quick and friendly although the tables were in dire need of a good wipe down. For a bit of an escape from the hustle and bustle of the market this was a good option to fill your belly

Despite the initial look of this burger, it was delicious! I had the wagyu burger combo, which will set you back a total of $20 with tax. It's not a ton of food, but it's plenty. The burger itself is wonderful, no suggestions on how to make it better. The ranch fries while perfectly cooked, could have used a bit more of that ranch flavor. It looks like they had tea available, but no sweetener. Also the only sauce I saw was ketchup despite a review that talked about other sauces. ‍ The interior of the restaurant has a fast food, almost five guys vibe. However it looks like it just wasn't finished being decorated. Not sure if that was the aesthetic that they are going for or if my friend put it, "It looks like their tile guy just kind of quit." A little pricey for casual dining, but I did get a whole combo with a burger, fries and a drink. Put a little more flavor on the fries, let me know there's other sauces to try, and some sweetener for the tea and this place could be a five.

I've been meaning to get by here for a while now after hearing about this restaurants' opening. It's located at the Houston Farmers Market on Airline with a lot of parking available (unless it's a weekend when it get very busy). Underbelly Burger is located behind the produce market on the north side. Inside it is small with seating for about 14 people and is a counter service restaurant with a self serve fountain drink machine along with ice tea. A couple of ice tubs offers a few beers and hard ciders too. I ordered the Angus Burger for $12 and added the combo (fries and drink) for another $5. With tax the meal was a little over $18 and they offer a Wagyu burger for $2 more. My meal was ready in about 10 minutes and with no seating available inside I was forced to go outside on a very windy day. There, the Farmers Market has several uncovered tables and chairs. The burger is a double meat patty job that was dressed with lettuce, tomato and pickle but no onion offered. Also it comes with cheese which I had them hold. Those ingredients are then put on a small sized sesame seed bun. The burger was good tasting and while small it was also thick with the two beef patties. The fries were of an unusual design as they resembled curly potato logs in their thickness and were seasoned. I liked them too. By the way, ketchup is offered at the counter in small containers and be sure to ask for two as they are small. This was a decent meal that I feel deserves a 3 score. If you come here take into consideration the weather (if you are not getting it to go) as you will probably have to sit outside to eat it. This restaurant really should have more inside seating. The other consideration is cost. Without beer or a milkshake a meal will cost over $18 and it didn't stand out to me as being worth that price point. IF you are coming to the Farmers Market to shop AND you are hungry for a burger consider eating here. If not, I wouldn't make a special trip to just come eat at Underbelly Burger.

Underbelly Burger is located within the Houston Farmers Market in the Heights area. I'll be honest, I didn't even know there was a farmers market here, so it was pretty exciting to see something like this in Houston. The restaurant is smaller with very minimal seating, but there were plenty of outdoor seating. My first impression of the menu was that it was pricy for a diner-casual fast food-type vibe. We ordered the wagyu burger combo that comes with ranch seasoned fries and a fountain drink. Wagyu burger - 3/5 - do yourself a favor and opt for the angus burger, I couldn't even tell this was Wagyu. Meat felt over cooked and toppings were subpar quality ingredients. For a $14 burger, I didn't expect cheap shredded iceberg lettuce and a sesame burger bun. Fries - 4/5 - perfectly crispy and potatoey. Seasoning flavor was not strong enough but it was also pretty salty. This was better than the burger. Overall, I would probably not come back. I know Underbelly to be a great chain but the price is not worth the quality you get here. My actual rating would be a 3.5 star but rounding up for Underbelly name.

At first I had a little trouble finding the place. It's nestled away deep in the farmers market - and you won't see it from the street. I ordered a wagyu combo. The burger had an excellent balance of ooziness, cheese, and flavor. As far as the burger is concerned, this one is solid. It is a little pricey for what you get, but so are most burgers at gourmet burger restaurants. The fries? I could eat them or I could pass next time. They did have flavor, but after tasting the burger, I didn't need them. On the topic of speed, the cooking process isn't quick, but the food is fresh which I'll take any day. Honestly, would give this place 4.5 stars.

Tried out underbelly at the Houston farmers market and it was pretty tasty. It's located towards the back and they have some space in side for seating. They had some oldies playing and it had that old timer diner feel which was cool. I had the 44 farms angus burger which has two patties and it was tasty but I didn't really like the sesame bun but was good none the less. I also ordered some fries which are really potato wedges and I didn't really like that but they had good seasoning. If you love burgers like I do check this place out. You may end up added it on your top five list!!

The burgers at Underbelly Burger did not disappoint. First have to start off by saying service was 10/10. I wish I got her name, but the cashier was so kind and asked us mid meal if everything was okay. Burgers were a little pricey, but worth it. My husband got the wagyu cheeseburger and I got the angus cheeseburger. Cheese was perfectly melted, burger was cooked to medium perfection, meaty and flavorful. Took the cashiers advice and ordered one fries to share and it was the perfect amount, loved the ranch seasoning. Would definitely come back here!

A standard smashed Double cheeseburger and generous extra crispy impressively seasoned waffle fries as you want it cost $16 which is fair since adding the fries vs standalone burger is only $1 price differential. Clutch City Grill sits next to Burger Chan (the most recent title holder of best burger for my son) but this Sunday, they were not open so we tried the one we didn't try last time--CCG. And let me just say that this place tucked away inside a collective indoor food concession aka The Conservatory Galleria, has every right to boldly don the clutch city burger title. Inside this perfectly grilled almost Hawaiian role type hint of sweet homemade bun is a masterclass of burger perfection, made right in front of you and to your liking based on your selections from the order tap screens. While, waiting, I looked at everything I didn't order as it was being served and I'm almost certain that anything you order at CCG is delicious. Presentation is superb because others were sitting with large selections in front of them that caused me a bit of buyers remorse--I couldn't decide. The vibe is chill enough to talk to the grill master while my son was figuring out his massive burger order--he randomly had a hash brown added to a patty melt. And ordered something to take home or in case one order wasn't enough for the teen appetite. But the food is massive. I cannot stress that enough. Portions of everything there are beyond generous from what we saw and this is the kind of place where there's delivery guys picking up, people working on their laptops and the average joe grabbing takeout after work as well as families having dinner but not crowded. We sat and reflected on a great shopping day in a chill environment and reminisced on the old days of Galleria area last minute back to school night before/we should do this more type of memories in the making. The take something to go plus my own leftover (cutting the burger in half is an open from the order touch screen) and it passed the ultimate test of being really good cold the next day. This place begs the question--where is everybody? I can't be the only one who knows about it. But also was inviting enough to silently confirm that I think we've found our place. One that even has a cool bathroom with a mirror that says "you look amazing." Exactly how you're going to feel about the food that looks even better than it does in its promo photos
