Really delicious brunch in Austin! Food was really tasty and it was a pretty small and casual place, def a hidden gem! Servers were really friendly! Definitely more difficult if you're gluten free however, menu said they had gluten free wraps but didn't end up having them

I love brunch spots in Austin! The parking for this place is annoying obviously because it's in the city, but I think the food was worth it. We also got there pretty early so it wasn't too busy and the workers were especially attentive. A cute little brunch spot but the seating was slightly tight. The chicken and waffles were pretty standard. The star of the show was definately the coconut chia pudding. So light, refreshing, just the right amount of sweet, and perfectly shareable with friends. It could totally be eaten on its own though! I also really loved my burrito. It had a nice crunch to it with the tater tots, and a lot of depth to its flavor because of how much is in it. The roja salsa with it only elevated the flavors. And for its price, this was extremely worth it. The burrito was loaded, and I had leftovers for a second meal later.

Servers were attentive but not very knowledgeable about vegan options on the menu. I ordered the avocado toast with vegan egg and it was good but pricey! The menu states that they have vegan burger patties and eggs upon request.

Cute brunch spot tucked between The Line Austin and Four Seasons Hotel. Like a typical millennial, I'm a fan of their avocado toast. Forthright takes it up a notch and tops their creamy toast with crunchy pumpkin seeds, colorful watermelon radish, and two perfectly gooey poached eggs. The dressed salad is a nice side. Friendly and attentive service. Excellent A/C but also plenty of outdoor patio seating underneath beautiful trees.

I was pleasantly greeted and immediately seated. Everything on the menu looked amazing. I went with a Latte and Avocado Toast. It did take a little while for someone to take my order, and after my food came, after I wrote this, finally someone made sure I was ok. The restaurant is small and cozy, there's also an outside patio not too far from the river. It has a modern, clean farmhouse vibe. The soundtrack was mostly Van Morrison and Lou Rawls and similar sounds. The coffee and food was so tasty. I heard they were training when they took the order of the table next to me and it's a Wednesday Morning so they probably aren't on their A-game since it's really not busy. Bet it's a different experience on the weekend.

Great little cafe right by a lot of hotels! We checked out this spot the first day of our trip and were pleasantly surprised by the extremely fast service, delish food, and yummy coffee. If I'm ever back in town, I would come back here! Their pop tart flavor changes depending on the day. I got the strawberry one when I was visiting (would recommend!)

Wow! First time coming here and food is delicious! Got the Matcha Latte and Forthright French Toast. The cup is huge and the latte is so warm and creamy. French toast is great! It has the right amount of berries and I devoured the whole plate. They have parking for up to an hour. Great place for breakfast/brunch. I definitely wanna come back again and try more!

Truly a hidden gem! Forthright is located right beside 98 San Jacinto Center and if you aren't looking closely you might miss it. All of the staff was so kind, hard working and quick. The vibe in the restaurant is very chill and low key. If you are in a rush but need good food this is a great place for you! The food was awesome and for being ATX brunch it was pretty reasonably priced. We were seated and served quickly. Extra points for forthright because dogs usually get outside seating but they let our mochi sit inside with us definitely recommend.

Forthright was a few blocks from our hotel and had good reviews, so it made sense to check it out for breakfast one cold morning. The space itself is bright and clean, though breezy if you're not tucked away to the side and out of the door's path. The service was great, everyone was super friendly and gave us space to be. The coffee was superb. My macchiato was smooth, hot, presented beautifully, and the hubby's drip was strong and kept flowing. Unfortunately the food wasn't that good. It was pretty, but that's about it. I ordered the coconut chia seed pudding. I eat this pretty regularly and was shocked by how sweet and runny it was. The fruit was swimming in honey and there wasn't any thickness to the pudding itself. I also ordered a side of scrambled eggs which were lukewarm and near cold by the time they were served. My husband ordered the avocado toast which was presented well but different. It was more like guacamole and an odd flavor profile with eggs. The eggs themselves were poached and slightly overcooked, not runny, and cold as well. The restaurant was not busy and we commented how over staffed they seemed, so not sure why it was so difficult to get warm eggs for breakfast.

Forthright came highly recommended, and we totally saw why! This cafe is not too far into Downtown from Lady Bird Lake and is at the base of what looked like an office building. Super cute, small modern cafe with a full bar. We shared the zucchini bread and homemade poptart (strawberry) and I ordered the avocado toast for myself. The greens on the side came dressed in some sort of citrus-y vinaigrette I wish I could have bottled and taken home with me. The Vital Farms eggs were poached on top and I loved getting to poke them open and eat my toast with runny egg. The toast was great, the zucchini bread was nice and soft, but the poptart was definitely the star of the show. SO good, warm, but not too overly sweet! I wanted an iced black tea but they use a sweetened concentrate so ended up just getting a hot tea instead.

Getting bbq in Austin is a no-brainer, but let's be honest... NOBODY wants all the bbq for breakfast. So here is a happy medium!! Forthright is tucked right near The Four Seasons, and is an unassuming but chic breakfast spot. My crew and I stumbled in seeking quality coffee and comfort food - and we got both in spades!! The coffee was perfectly brewed - neither burnt nor overly acidic. My acid reflux was oh so grateful. The Texas pastrami hash should not be missed. First of all, where else are you going to get a smoked pastrami dish like this?? I have never come across one! It had layers of flavor that kept building. The kind of dish you have to consciously slow down between bites because all you want to do is inhale it. So so SO good. My only feedback is that the lil biscuits were oh so dry. Like, almost couldn't eat them dry. So skip those if they're calling your name. Everything else? *chefs kiss* Will I go back? Definitely. Would I recommend? Absolutely.

Loved this place. Their ambient is nice and the pasta even better. I ordered the pappardele and it was amazing! I will be right right b

Do they have bottomless mimosa's for brunch?

They do not have bottomless mimosas. They sell them in single and doubles by the glass and also have a a choice where you can get a bottle with fresh juices on the side.

So they have the GF bread available?

We do! It’s a local Austin brand called GFY Kitchen. We also do our waffles gluten free and have a couple of gluten free pastries as well.

I see that they're open until 8pm. Do they have a dinner menu?

They are only open until 8 a couple days and serve some small plates, but no dinner menu.

Unfortunately, the kitchen just wasn't on their game this day. We went for brunch and it is a lovely restaurant with some amazing looking pastries. My ratings of the food we got are below. Overall, everything was just okay and not something I would order again. Our order: Salami and cheese - 1/10, not even edible with how much olive oil they dumped on it. Hard cheese and meat. None of us touched it. Frites - 9/10, hard to go wrong here. Nice and crispy French cruller - 7/10, I think this is just personal presence here I wished it was warmed up. Flavor was good but it was a little dry. Burger - 5/10, the flavor is there and definitely has potential but it was so bloody and rare which is not what we asked for. My friend has a gluten allergy and she asked for the burger lettuce wrapped and it just came on top of a huge chunk of iceberg so wouldn't recommend that if you want it lettuce wrapped. Chicken sandwich - 8/10, this was good with a nice crispy chicken. It could have used something sweet to balance the spice though it was a little one dimensional.

We were both starving and this place is open 24/7. I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.

It's a small space, with only around eight tables and a tiny kitchen behind the counter. It's a bit hard to locate from outside. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there.
