It is a really nice department store that sells Men's, Women's, Junior's, and Children's clothing, cosmetics, shoes, toys, books and gifts. They also had a sale going on for clothing. The staff greeted us when we walked in. The inside was one huge space that was decide into different departments. I was immediately drawn to the beautiful displays of stationary and gifts right when we walked into the store. This store reminded of me of a store called Gottschalks department store that used to exist in Fresno California. They closed in the early 2000's. I loved that store and this place brought back many good memories of shopping there. Everything was so orderly and displayed so beautifully. The staff were exceptionally personable and friendly. I loved it here! They had a really nice men's department and shoe department. I didn't have a chance to thoroughly look at the women's section. I'll have to do that, the next time I come. I loved the kitchen items they had on display for entertaining. I ended up finding some really cute kitchen towels with kitty's all over them. I also found a nice baseball style hat with a lovely floral design on it, in the stationary section. They had lots of great gift ideas and unique items. I would definitely come here again in the future. I saw online that they have more locations in the North and East Bay, as well as Stockton. I hope to check out some of the other locations when I'm visiting those cities.

How much does a tissue paper cost?…read more Today I took my 83 year old mother out shopping to buy a baby shower stuffed animal. Her total purchase was $31. (2 stuffed animals purchased separately) I also purchased 3 baby books totaling $31. My mother asked for one of the stuffed animals to be wrapped in tissue paper to stay clean, and the woman who assisted her was very friendly and very accommodating to her disabled condition. However, the manager, D.Green, who checked us out at the register was reluctant to give us one more piece of tissue paper for the second stuffed animal when my mother asked for it - because it did not make the $20 minimum purchase gift wrap requirement. My mother did not ask for it to be gift wrapped. She asked for a piece of tissue paper, just so the fuzzy animal stayed clean. When the manager told my mother the purchase did not qualify for a piece of tissue paper, I spoke up and said I just bought $31 of books, does that qualify? She replied, 'no, that's on a different receipt' We left without the piece of tissue paper. I called the Store, and coincidently the Manager is who checked us out. I spoke to her because my mother was very upset and is a local resident. I do not live in the area. The manager stated she was following the policy. McCaulou's on Clayton Road just lost a local customer over a 5 cent piece of tissue paper! As a Manager myself I would never argue with a customer over a piece of tissue paper. The woman who wrapped the first gift was great, the Manager, however, needs customer service training as we were not rude or inconsiderate at any time towards her or any staff members.

Michelle was extremely kind and helpful, especially with the Anime section that my son loves. She told me of all the great deals they had for it and others. When my arms were full with Anime apparel, she kindly held it for me and took it up front so I can shop for more. She also made sure when I closed out that I was a member, to get more great deals. I will definitely be back to shop for myself, for all the Wednesday Addams merchandise!

We've been to this Target in Walnut Creek a couple of times and it's fine. We used the free…read morecurbside pickup service once and it worked well. Recently, we returned and my wife was able to find what she was looking for. On a Saturday afternoon, the store was busy, but we were still able to get in and out fast. This is one of the busier Target stores I've been to. I think my sister prefers it to the one in Oakland. It reminds me of our Target at home in Atlanta (Atlantic Station) because it has a garage and you have to take escalators/stairs up to get into the store (however, at this location, if you park outside, there is no need to take the escalators/stairs).

I was walking into the store 15-20 min before closing and the employee working the closing shift on 10/6/25 was sweeping the floor and rudely told me they're closed, and I responded with "but your door isn't closed and there's still 15-20 minutes before closing" and she disrespectfully responded with "it's open because we want it open, we're closed" This exact scenario has happened TWO TIMES already, I would understand if it was 5 minutes before closing but they're doing an already struggling chain a disservice by treating their shoppers so disrespectfully just because they don't want to do their job. I went to another store after and asked the workers there if they've heard about the workers at Charlotte Russe being so rude, and she confirmed that she's heard stories herself as well, so that shows the level of disrespect, entitlement, and laziness of their employees and I hope the owner realizes that before another one of these stores shuts down.

I'm writing to formally express my disappointment with a very unpleasant experience at the BoxLunch…read morelocation in Sunvalley Mall, Concord. During a recent visit with my sister and boyfriend, we were browsing the store when a young female employee approached us to ask if we needed assistance. We declined, letting her know we were just browsing. She then proceeded to ask if we were shopping for bags for ourselves. Again, we said no, at which point I replied, "It doesn't matter, we're just browsing." My boyfriend then asked her where the nearest restroom was, and she did assist him. However, as he walked away, she muttered to my sister and me, "Good luck, you're going to need it." We were completely caught off guard by this inappropriate and confusing comment. Her tone and attitude throughout the interaction were standoffish and rude. I take accountability that we too started to act frustrated, we understand her job is to sell us things but as customers if we decline help, employees should definitely take a step back and just let us browse the store. Already frustrated by her persistence after we had declined help, her unnecessary remark escalated the situation. We asked her to clarify what she meant and questioned her behavior, but she began avoiding us. When we told her we felt her customer service was unacceptable, she replied sarcastically with, "Yours too," which only added to our confusion and concern. Shockingly, she then called mall security on us, claiming we were being disruptive. This accusation was completely unfounded -- we were not loud, or aggressive. There were other customers nearby who could attest to this. When we asked to speak to a supervisor, she stated that she herself was the manager. If that is indeed true, her conduct is especially concerning. A manager should be held to a higher standard, and her behavior was anything but professional. She also refused to provide her name when asked, so I informed her I would be taking a photo of her in order to submit a formal complaint. She objected, claiming she was afraid of being posted online -- despite already appearing on the official sun valley BoxLunch Instagram account. So out of respect I won't upload the photo I took of her, but I did find her on the main page and her name is Hailey. This contradiction only added to the lack of accountability she displayed throughout the encounter. On top of that we were asking her to provide us with a phone number to higher management to call in a complaint and she gave us 2 non working numbers and at the end just gave us the general customer service number. I've always enjoyed shopping at BoxLunch, but this experience has completely changed my view. It is extremely disappointing to see someone in a managerial role act so unprofessionally and disrespectfully toward customers. I hope this matter is taken seriously and properly addressed by upper management.

We wanted to know the price so my sisters boyfriend brought the backpack down and checked for us. The employee, Hailey, asked us "are you looking for something specific?" My sister answered her by stating "no, we were just wondering what the price was for this backpack." Since we had figured it out then we didn't need more help. Of course, as any retail worker knows, it is important to sell products but ALSO make sure that the customer feels comfortable enough to browse around the store freely. Soon, she asked us AGAIN, "are you looking for something specific" to which my sister answered her by saying "no we are just browsing." Instead of accepting that answer, she was persistent and then asked us a THIRD TIME, "but are you looking for yourself or for someone else" by now, we were a little confused why it took three times for her to ask something we had already simply answered that we were browsing. My sister then answered her by saying "it doesn't matter because we are just browsing." If we were shopping for ourselves (which we weren't, just browsing as it was stated) then us saying that we were browsing should've been enough. By now, we were just confused and wanted to freely roam the store as we didn't have anything specific we were looking for. My sisters boyfriend had to use the restroom so he asked her where the nearest bathroom was located. She did direct him and he proceeded to leave the store. Maybe she was upset that we didn't answer her question the way she wanted us to and led her to say out loud "Good luck! You're gonna need it" Now, if you are confused by this response then imagine how we felt. I responded by saying "what do you mean by that?" As I was genuinely confused. She then started saying in a very rude and condescending way that she was just trying to be helpful. Okay, let's round it back. So she did feel some type of way about the way that our interaction happened. Never in my entire life have I encountered someone who got upset by a customer stating "we are just browsing" I thought that was a pretty common response to being asked if we need help. We then repeated that we did not need help we were simply just looking. Is that so wrong? Given her tone and attitude, I then simply stated "You know what, I feel like you just gave us pretty bad customer service" .... Her response? "You have very bad customer service too" what?? I didn't know that I was on the clock. Immediately, even more confused than before, I said "what do you mean by that? She never answered me. Instead, she proceed to call mall security and told them that we were being "disruptive." Excuse me? I didn't know asking a question to gain some clarity was disruption but to each their own. The entire time she was very condescending. I did start to record the situation for MY own protection. It's my right. Once she saw this, she immediately started saying that security was going to take a while and we should just go. We probably could've just left but we knew we had done nothing wrong so speaking to security was something we didn't mind. Security then came and guess what? She started playing the victim mentality card, big surprise. She started mentioning some personal things she was going through in her life. Which, sorry to her but don't we all have problems we are going through? I really wish some accountability would've been taken but there was no remorse. She had no idea some of the things we are going through because instead of making things super personal, she should've focused on the actual situation at hand. There was complete deflection from her side. She even lied to security and told them that she said the "Good luck, you're gonna need it comment" to my sisters boyfriend who had asked where the restroom was at. Like okay? Even if it was that context, why would anyone tell someone that in response to them asking where the bathroom is. Thankfully, my sisters boyfriend did confirm to us later that she did not say that to him so it was directed to us. Again, why? I guess we'll never know. She even mentioned she is a manager so that made her behavior even worse. She never should have made it personal. I wish she could've just apologized for her behavior but she never did. Out of respect, I will not be posting her picture. However, I want to make it very clear that she mentioned she could not have her picture posted online because of some personal issues she's dealing with.
