Forest Cafe is easily one of my favorite cafes in Forest Hills. When it opened, it was very much needed in the area, since most cafes are closer to the Forest Hills Train Station! The drinks are superb and I especially love the seasonal options. Today I had the "Sweetheart Latte" in honor of Valentines Day week, which was a latte with some strawberries and white chocolate. The service is the best of the best. The workers clearly care about the cafe and are extremely friendly, thoughtful and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is calming with many plants, great music, and big windows. The bathroom is clean and large. Like many before me said, the place gets busy (for good reason) and I hope they set up some more seating in the future. I think they could squeeze a few more tables and chairs! The food was unique. For example they have something called a croffle which is supposed to be a mix between a waffle and a croissant. Although I thought the texture was like of a mochi. They are very chewy. They also have drinks that I have never heard of/are really rare, like an ube latte. They also have many different types of sugar and syrup. For example they had lavender syrup, and many types of sugars. The service was nice and fun. Even though it's early in the morning they take time to talk to the customers. A solid gem of a cafe in the Forest Hills neighborhood that is nicely tucked away on a street with two laundromats making it such a convenient/strategic location for residents in the neighborhood. Located on a residential block, this cute café offers delicious handcrafted, coffee drinks with a serene and relaxing atmosphere. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for a cold brew. The place was bustling with people. I ordered a cold brew black and light ice. It took about 12 minutes for me to get my very simple order so I don't know if that's typical or if they were just behind. I asked for light ice, but it was loaded with ice, so I'm not too sure if that message was relayed on my order since it didn't really look like that. Also, the taste of the coffee is it too strong so I'm not sure of the roast that they used for the cold brew but I prefer something a bit stronger. read more

It is my first time at this new coffee shop. It looks nice and spacious and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, it seems that the full neighborhood had the same idea as me: I have rarely seen that many people in a coffee shop, with anxious coffee drinkers waiting for a table to free up (there are only five of them). I am one of those who was planning to do work with my laptop there. But, helas, the competition for tables is fierce. I love this cafe. When I initially saw the "opening soon" sign, I was really excited. It's great to have a cafe right around the corner with delicious coffee. My go-to is the Forest Latte and the Salted Caramel Latte. Their croffles are to die for! Super pumped to see Forest Cafe in the neighborhood. A cute cafe w/ space to hang out was sorely missing in Forest Hills! The only thing missing was some more food options - they serve croffles but some other pastries and sandwiches would be awesome! The space is minimalist and *aesthetic*. White oak with accents of hunter green. Benches along one side and well thought out cozy nooks. Really well done! Loved the fact that they offer simple syrup or maple syrup for their drinks! Super unique. I ordered a Iced Shakerato (essentially a Iced Espresso with hints of chocolate). I'm not a big sweets drinker so I asked for light maple syrup and it was perfect. Hubs got the Hojicha Latte with Oat milk. Both drinks came out to be $14 (but pricey but Forest Hills rent cannot be cheap! Also, drinks were made with love and were pretty big as compared with other coffee shops). I sincerely hope they do well and can't wait to return. Clean bathroom + free wifi as well! This place just opened and I know that a lot of new businesses have their friends leave glowing yelp reviews but I'm just a typical customer that happened to stroll in and felt the need to leave them a good review because I liked it here so much. The cafe decor is very hip yet laid back. The vibe inside is chill and friendly and the space is immaculate. For drinks, they have your typical coffee house standards as well as some fun inspired drinks such as an Ube latte. They also have a full menu of milk alternatives (soy, oat, almond, etc). My drink was on point and the service is warm and friendly. Sadly, I didn't get to try a pastry because I got there late in the day they were all sold out, but what people were eating looked delish.
