You know I've been coming to Foothill for quite sometime now, and my experiences were always good!! The bartenders and service were usually good. However, I came tonight with my sister, and it started off wrong. The valet guy was very unprofessional and disrespectful towards my sister. He let a person in front of her valet park, and then when she came after that person/car, he had told her that the valet was full. However, it was two people/cars behind her that he told them they can park and he will be right with them. He had said that it's because they are related to the owners, but I felt that was quite unreasonable to say mainly when you have people dining out to have a good experience, and spend their money. This put a bad taste in my mouth, but we still decided to stay because we love the food and we haven't been for a while. Luckily, out of all the employees the hostess was the best. Very nice and sat us down rapidly. Unfortunately, for our server, Carolyn I'll give a 2 1/2 star for her. I felt that she kept moving fast and wasn't really passionate about her job. We wanted light sauce and no cheese on one of our entrees and she basically said that it's best to order something else since the chef couldn't do it. She took the plate back, and my sister decide to get devil eggs. They were delicious though, I Just felt she wasn't accommodating at all. Even when we ordered the lava cake and on the menu it didn't mention that it had caramel on it, we don't eat caramel at all and it did not mention on menu, and she simply said all the ingredients are not on the menu all the time. So what made this annoying is that we asked her about and what was on the lava cake and she said it was just a plain lava cake. Hmmm just felt that she was very dry and nonchalant and did not care. Made me feel uncomfortable to tell her about the food. Shouldn't feel that way as a patron. I ordered the lemon herb chicken w/ sautéed spinach and roasted potatoes. It was great and tasted delicious!! Happy of my choice! For my drink I had Prosecco and a lemon drop, that was very tasty. Will try that again the bartender was on point. The ambiance was perfect they have a nice seating outside with tv, and nice indoor seating. The bar has a tv and a good hang out spot. They have brunch on the weekends that looks delicious so I would want to try again, but after today I'm not sure because of the service from valet and our server. I really love Foothill!! Good food and atmosphere, but tonight was not it!!! Valet is $5.00 and they do cash or zelle only. -Dr. Marshay Dede

Beautiful evening under the stars celebrating our 30th anniversary with this incredible woman at FOOTHILL On this 30th anniversary, she still takes my breath away. Grateful for every memory we've built and excited for all the adventures still ahead of us. Raul, our server, was excellent, attentive and made the night feel extra special. We enjoyed a crisp pinot grigio alongside the shared seafood special with seasoned small potatoes and green beans. Topped it all off with apple pie à la mode the perfect ending to a memorable night with tingling feet..

I came here on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch with my partner. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful when it came to guiding us through the menu, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the fish and chips, and honestly, they were some of the worst I've had. The fish itself was not seasoned, and the beer batter was soggy and overwhelmingly tasted like beer--as if they were relying on it to provide all the flavor. Instead of enhancing the dish, it completely overpowered it. I also tried the Wagyu burger, and it seemed like the char on the patty was meant to be the main source of flavor. The fries were okay--nothing particularly memorable. I even tried eating the fish without the batter, hoping it would improve the taste, but it still fell flat. For the price, I expected much more in terms of flavor. Visually, the dishes looked great and were very appetizing, but the taste just didn't match. The restaurant itself is beautiful--the lighting is low, the ambiance is nice, and the music is pleasant. However, I came for the food, and for me, that's the most important part. I might consider coming back to try something else, but it won't be anytime soon.

Came here for Mother's Day brunch and the ambiance was pleasant. We sat outside on the patio and the weather was perfect. Our food took about an hour to come out and when we received it, there was a mix up on our ribeye steak and one was cooked medium when we requested medium rare. The cobb salad, lox avocado toast and short rib hash was tasty! The steak and burrito was okay, My son also did not like his burger. This is my 2nd time here and I honestly do not see what's so special about this place and probably wouldn't come back since food is okay and there's limited parking.

The food I got was the lox avocado toast. The toast was crunchy NOT soggy, scottish salmon was not fishy at all, and the blend of seasonings, micro greens, and garnishing blended all the flavors wonderfully. I also got their vanilla iced latte with oatmilk. The coffee was okay, probably not their specialty. It was a bit watered down and there wasn't a strong coffee flavor. The service was great. I made reservations the day before and they were very accommodating when I needed to change the time. One of our girlies was running a little late but they still sat us at our table and started taking our orders! Very friendly and personable staff The outside seating area is perfect for a brunch day. I wish we were able to sit outside but it was really windy the day I went. Inside is a little dark but each table was spacious enough for large group seating.

foothill has been a solid spot for quite some time now and it continues to shine in an area that could use more of these types of places. Comfortable, homey vibes + attentive service + well made, creative food is the combination for being a neighborhood favorite. The only "issue" I had was the burger being too big!

The restaurant has a small parking lot in the back or street parking. They have an outdoor patio and indoor seating both with good ambience and vibes. We sat in the patio and nicely shaded with alot of umbrellas and cute decor with lots of greenery. We tried the og waffle, chicken chilaquiles and short rib quesadilla - all delicious. Staff was very attentive and super friendly.

1st time here: Celebrating a Birthday Back parking lot had parking available for Saturday Brunch (different menu for dinner). Our server "Reiko" was so patient- 10 of us ! Great service and drinks flowing (they offer carafes of mimosas) she didn't miss a beat (TY). Everyone enjoyed their food, nothing fancy but well prepared! Day turned into Evening, acoustic guitar player was a nice touch, lights came on and dinner menus were just as good. Appetizer's ; Deviled Eggs, Short Rib Tacos and Wings (shareable) ! Definitely will come back and a great spot to enjoy the day if you're in the Pasadena area!!

I have not been here in a while. I was very disappointed from the time I drove up to the valet. The alert guy was rude and told me the lot was full, but he took the person behind me and let them park. I asked why he took the lady and he said it's the owner's mom. That really upset me. I did not move so eventually he took my car and parked it. Once inside our waitress Carolina was not too attentive and pushy. I felt rushed for her to take my order. I ordered the beef stroganoff with light sauce and no cheese and they brought it out full of sauce and cheese. Per the waiter, the chef said he can't make it with less sauce so I should order something else. I was just beyond disappointed after hearing that. So I just ordered devil eggs instead with a expresso Martini. Those items were good. I then ordered a chocolate lava cake and it had caramel all over it. On the menu and when I asked the waiter nothing on the menu or per the waiter stated it had caramel. So I had to send it back and get a plain one. It was hot and delicious. The place was cool with plenty of outside seating and small inside seating. I never had these experiences here before but this time I did not have a good time.

    Prime Rib Dip Sandwich

Came here in a very wet midmorning for brunch after a 5K. Got seated right away and the server was very nice because we had to wait a while for our whole party to get there. We never felt rushed or like we were a bother though. Got coffees. $7.50 a pop but they tasted fine. Starbucks would probably be better but you got a nice big cup. For lunch, my kids each had a pancake order. They were large and fluffy and I thought tasted pretty good. They come with fresh fruit, but the fruit was a little tinny. My husband got the prime rib sandwich. The bread is super crispy like rough on your mouth crispy, but in a good way. The meat was cold and he wanted it to be hot, but it was also pink which I like to see. The au jus tasted fair, but also it was not hot. The french fries were delicious. I got the garden wrap. It has a red beet Hummus, which I was very dubious about because I hate beet. But I was able to get a sample and it was unbelievable. Beautiful vibrant, color and super garlic. It didn't taste like beef and I love the texture. The wrap itself had arugula and allegedly avocado, red onion, and bell pepper. I mostly just found arugula and the hummus. Size wise it was fine, but could've used some more actual veggies. The onion rings were super crispy and delicious. I wish I had gotten a few more, but it was a sub for salad without an up charge so I won't complain too much. If you like onion rings at The Hat you will like these. My other friend got the lox avocado toast. The salmon was nice and the toast was good but the avocado it itself was underwhelming. There's no real accoutrement and the layer of avocado was pretty thin. It also looks like avocado you get premade in the packages at the store. Overall, the vibe was really cute and there were enough decent things to say it was fine. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go again because it was pretty pricey, but it was OK. Service was excellent. 10/10.

I love everything about foothill. The entrance is inviting. As you walk up, you see that you have the option to sit indoors or outside. We chose to sit outdoors on the open-air patio. As soon as I sat down, I felt very chill. The patio was clean, spacious and welcomes furry friends. I ordered the egg & avocado croissant with a side of fresh fruit. Very tasty. I highly recommend.

Recommendation by my amazing wife, visited on a packed Friday evening with a reservation, and definitely recommended to make a reservation to avoid any waiting times. Parking here is a bit strange, looks like theres a small valet parking lot behind the establishment, I see some parking next door in the McDonalds plaza (free) but that could be a bit complicated. I would recommend parking in the nearby residential streets and walking over if there's non available. Foothill is very pretty inside, and outdoor seating looks ideal as well. We decided on having a indoor table as outside was a bit chilly. Our server was pretty attentive and fast. Plenty of times did he made conversation with us, very friendly and professional. 1. PORTABELLA FRIES ($18) A nice appetizer dish, can be a bit fulfilling but most definitely a shareable dish that serves 1-2 people. Mushrooms are mixed really well with all the toppings. Has a slightly sweet/salty combo along with the mushroom and garlic taste. Very well presented and definitely recommend if you like mushrooms and fries. 2. LEMON HERB GRILLED CHICKEN ($30) By far my favorite dish for this visit. Marinated extremely well, the chicken is very tender, easy to cute, and portions are pretty big for the chicken given. The two types of potatoes provided on the side is great because it soaks in the flavoring, a very nice compliment to the chicken. The lemon definitely adds a very nice layer of flavor, perfect entree and highly recommend to give it a try. 3. BEEF STROGANOFF ($30) Short ribs at its finest. The herb cream sauce is very flavorful, pappardelle noodle style is perfect to mix with the provided toast. Highly recommend eating it as a combo for more flavor. Overall, love the restaurant. Beautiful interior & exterior, great quality food, great service, and overall a very nice visit. Will be visiting again whenever in the area or even to celebrate a occasion. Only negative here is that the parking can be complicated, besides that...10/10

Love love love! I came here after a crazy night out in the pasadena party scene. I heard they had brunch so I decided to take a whirl, what's life without a morning tipsy lol. The bar area was lovely and the place was very lively. Music, conversational people, thr game was on. Felt very welcoming. The bartender was very attentive and fast. I asked for a Chardonnay and he served it up in an instant. What caught my eye about the menu was the crab cake Benedict. I've heard of an eggs Benedict but never a crabcake Benedict. The cake was so tender, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The hollandaise sauce was very creamy very rich. Paired really well with the Chardonnay if I must add. Will come back again to try other things on the menu. Thank you guys so much!

    Ask the Community - foothill

    Is there parking?

There is a very small parking lot through the back alley and there is street parking. Can be pretty hard to find parking near by the business on a busy day.

Is it ok to bring a cake?

Yes! However we do charge a dessert fee of $2.50 per guest for any outside desserts.

Is there music during Sunday brunch?

Just over the speakers, not live (as of about a month ago)

Can you order off the regular menu during brunch?

We were told "no" when we asked about a month ago.

Can they accommodate a large group? Maybe about 30 people?

Overall, yes. Inside seating is a maybe but their outside patio is spacious and seemingly flexible.

Is there a weekday brunch menu?

We serve brunch on the weekends, Sat & Sun. Our lunch menu is available during the day from 11am - 3pm!

    Is there still outdoor seating?

Yes! A nicely (somewhat) covered patio.

Do you guys have bottomless mimosas?

In my experience the answer is no. But they sell their mimosas by the glass or carafe.

    Can I make a reservation?

Absolutely! Just visit our website: foothill.co or give us a call at (626) 449-2337

Is there happy hour during the week? If so, what time? Thanks..

    Yes, 4:00

What time do you start serving dinner?

    4pm

Is this restaurant affiliated with Twohey's?

Yes. Same owner(s), but they changed the name from Twohey's Tavern because people kept coming in looking for the same type establishment as the original Twoheys. The Foothill is more upscale.

    Are Reservations needed?

NO, but if you have a large party I'd recommend it.

    What is the parking situation?

We have some parking in the lot, and there is street parking.

Trying to avoid heavy crowds during the pandemic, what's a good time to go on a weekend when it's less crowded?

I went in as a party of four on a Sunday about 9 o; clock. It was not crowded at all at that time...

Do they offer bottomless mimosa brunch?

We offer carafes of mimosas at brunch. Thank you.

Can we order food from the dinner menu during brunch?

    No.

If we do take out, can we also order cocktails to-go?

I am not sure about takeout cocktails. We have ordered take out from them several times and everything was very good but we did not order cocktails. You might call them and ask.

Hi! Do you serve your regular cocktail menu during brunch hours, or do you only offer mimosas and bloody Marys during brunch?

Hi. Thank you for your question. We serve a full bar all day.

    Are there vegan options?

Good afternoon! Yes. We have a vegetable medley plate that's amazing and vegan. We can also do veggie tacos that are delicious, and we're happy to make adjustments to any dish to meet your dietary needs. Thank you!

This spot opened about a year ago, and has a cool speakeasy style entrance at the Highland Park Bowl bowling alley. It is a small space, and I would highly recommend making a reservation on Resy. You have 90 minutes to drink and dine. I parked behind the bowling alley where there is a medium sized pay parking lot. Park in a space, remember your space number painted on the ground, and go to the pay station at the end of the lot. I found the parking machine to be extremely finicky as did other people. After ten minutes of failure, I ended up moving my car to another space, and then it worked. This has nothing to do with the Lucky Tiki, but FYI if you park there. We walked around to the front of the bowling alley, and checked in. Seating options include at the bar, tiki hut booths, and high top tables. The décor inside is a tiki lovers paradise. The room has a high ceiling with many tiki lamps, floats, puffer fish, tiki huts, thatch, ropes, barrels, netting, carvings, a hanging canoe, and a large tiki right in the middle of the space. In addition to the great décor, when you order certain drinks, special effects are triggered. There was also great tiki music playing all evening. We sat at the bar since we always enjoy talking to the bartenders. We actually ran into Skipper Christian in the parking lot on the way in, and he ended up being our main bartender, with Nick and Jo also working behind the bar. We put in a food order right away. The chicken potstickers ($12) came with five tasty bites, and the garlic teriyaki dipping sauce was good. We also had the giant pretzel ($16) which comes with mustard, beer cheese, and ranch sauces. This was excellent, and the perfect filling snack before a bunch of drinks. My first drink was the Siren's Song (Flor de Cana Eco rum, lemon juice, cassis, Oloroso sherry, apricot foam topper, $19). This drink is served in a great mermaid with skull mug and triggers special sound effects and bubbles fill the air. Those bubbles on top of the drink had a great light citrusy apricot flavor, probably the best flavored bubbles I've ever had. The drink itself was very good and balanced with some complexity. She wasn't sure what to order at first, and Christian asked her what flavors she liked. He ended up making a spin on a Tradewinds with some mango and pineapple to go along with the apricot and coconut. It was nicely balanced and not too sweet, even with all that fruit in there. My second drink was the Sun of Suns (Tierra de Acre mezcal, coconut cream, Giffard mango liqueur, pineapple juice, lime juice, $17). This was coconut and pineapple forward with some good smokiness in the background. Her second drink was the Whatever Floats Your Boat (Ford's gin, lemon juice, velvet falernum, orgeat, passion fruit syrup, guava soda, topped with hazelnut passion fruit foam, $19). It is served in a cool boat mug, and triggers thunder sound effects and lighted mechanical Polynesian tiki characters paddling a canoe over the bar. This was another good balanced drink. It was a little gin forward and the passion fruit popped out, maybe from being both in the drink and the foam top. That creamy hazelnut passion fruit form on top is delicious. I'd happily have a glass of that on its own. We were still a little hungry so we ordered the Hawaiian pizza (marinara, diced pepperoni, red onion, pineapple chunks, hot capicola ham, $16). It was another good tasting, perfectly sized snack, and the crust was light and airy. We were already fifteen minutes over our time limit, but we got the green light to stay longer to order a third drink to share. We ordered the Tiki Diablo (Flor de Cana Eco rum, Worthy Park 109 rum, Alma Tepecha chile liqueur, orange juice, lime juice, mango syrup, guava soda, $24). This drink serves two people, is served in a cool volcano bowl with glowing red lava around it, and comes with a fire show. Unfortunately, right after it was served, the host came over and said we were over our time and had to leave shortly. Christian made up for it by giving us two tall pours to go enjoy in the bowling alley bar area which was fine. We were happy we got some extra time inside. The drink was also very good, balanced with a little complexity. We had a great time. There is so much great décor to look at. The drinks and food were very good, and some of the the drink presentations and special effects were the icing on the cake. All of the bartenders were very friendly and a lot of fun. We purchased up a few zombie glasses to take home as a souvenir. I'd definitely recommend visiting the Lucky Tiki in Highland Park!

Brian was the standout star of the whole experience! His energy was exceptional and he is such a great conversationalist. My son got the American Dream cocktail along with some water. We skipped on dessert. From 4-6pm, they have a happy hour menu with some of their cocktails and shareable plates. The portions are just a bit smaller and the prices are a little lower. It's a good way to sample different items. I think we got a good variety of food to enjoy. To start, we got the Little Gem Salad. It was such a unique combination of flavors and SUPER delicate/light. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The next starter was the Zucchini and Feta Fritters, which was good but not the best out of everything else we ordered. The zucchini was a bit mushy but the batter it was fried in was crispy. Another starter we shared were the Moroccan Spiced Chicken Wings. These wings are gigantic and very flavorful. They definitely pack some heat, so be careful. I don't think the A/C was NOT working to begin with, so the place was already hot. The wings made us sweat even more. For entrées, we got the burger and the pork belly. Brian said they are known for their burger and after taking the first bite, it's clear as to why. It was absolutely PERFRCTION. So delicious! The bun, the meat, the cheese, the onions, and the crispy bacon...all of it mixed together into the perfect burger. I had wanted to add some mushrooms and avocado to it, but Kiana said they were unable to do it. I also asked for lettuce and she said that would be an extra charge. What extra charge for lettuce? We still got charged for avocado when the bill came, but they took it off once we mentioned it. The pork belly was also very tender, flavorful, and crispy. It's just hard to compete with the burger! We also got an order of the Belgian Fries to share and we were both pleasantly surprised at how good they were. The fries are salty and cut pretty thick. The sauce that came on the side was so yummy. We asked for a small extra cup to-go. All in all, the food was great and we liked everything. The vibe of the restaurant wasn't really all that for me. Brian genuinely made up for anything that was lacking in the atmosphere. He is such a wonderful asset to the restaurant and their company. The restaurant itself has been here for about 15 years now and it used to be a very old house. You can tell when you look around. They did a good job with the renovations, but you can see the different areas/rooms. I think they tried to keep the casual comfort of a home, while making it a slightly elevated experience. It was very clean everywhere, especially the bathrooms. They have one gender neutral bathroom, one for men, and one for women. No private parking, so you'll have to park on the street and put money in the kiosk. They also had an outdoor seating. Pretty BIG, only took picture of one side. They also have 2 small TVs. In the bar area and inside their cute lounge. I normally like to try new places, especially when I'm in Pasadena, so I'm not sure if I'll come back here. Maybe if Brian is working, it would definitely be worth stopping by again! Thank you all..

I think this might be my new favorite brewery! Love the wide selection of just really great beers…read morethat they consistently roll out; present favorites are the sours and IPAs! Love that they have their own kitchen serving yummy food (the brat and chicken quesadilla are our favs!) so we're not scrambling when a food truck cancels last minute. Love how genuinely friendly everyone who we've met working here has been (thanks Joe, Ian and Clarissa for making us feel so welcome!)! Love the super chill vibe of this whole establishment! Love that they have a parking lot! Love the cookies! In short, I'm just so grateful that our friends invited us to join them here for weekly trivia fun on Tuesdays! This is such an amazing brewery! Highly, highly recommend!!

It is now our favorite local place to unwind with a few libations, some games and usually an enormous, delicious pretzel. The staff is next-level friendly, and it rubs off on the customers, most of which are regulars. They host so many events and always keep the menu exciting. Plus they have an awesome dog-friendly patio! Love this place. The only negative thing I'd say is that the roar of the customers against the hard-surfaced walls and ceiling can really get overwhelming at times, but whatever. Not usually a big deal. Just hit the patio if it's too noisy inside. Definitely check out the place if you haven't yet.
