This was the perfect restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday luncheon. His daughter and her dog accompanied us and were welcomed on the very pretty patio, with very nice seating. They had a great menu with so many choices that were perfect for lunch. I opted for the Cobb Salad, which came with delicious ranch dressing. His daughter had the seared Ahi tuna salad, which is their version of a Chinese chicken salad, but elevated by the beautiful tuna. And my boyfriend had the very best fish and chips I have ever tasted, including in London. The taste of their special batter still lingers in my mind. And, they had a phenomenal, huge, complimentary, hot fudge sundae with a giant sparkler for the birthday boy at the end. Our waiter Travis seemed to anticipate everything we needed before we asked for it. He could not have been more perfect. Ambiance is what got me to come in initially. I'd seen this place many times and wondered why I hadn't taken advantage of all they have to offer! Came on a Saturday. It was hot, the air conditioner was on blast inside but that's not why I wanted to be here. Requested outdoor seating by the largest fan they could buy i think, and next to a large tv. Wonderful. Order a carafe of mimosa corned beef hash with three eggs. Now it's on! Everyone in my party of three enjoyed the food. No qualms there so why the 4 stars? Unsure who was really responsible for our party. We had at least 4 different people tend to us and when we ordered dessert they forgot utensils. I have to say my one bite if the creme brulee was yummy, so it is worth the wait. Fortunately when we got the bill the dessert was comped for the overlooked utensils! Absolutely not. All of my meals, up until this place were amazing. Don't waste your time or money, just go somewhere else. It was Mother's Day weekend and maybe that's why my food was cold, but, they weren't that busy. There was nothing on the menu that I wanted so I settled for settled for French toast, it was awful. Lovely spot in Pasadena with a pretty outdoor patio and cozy indoor seating. A solid choice for a dinner date or girls night (have yet to try brunch). We were seated right away on a Tuesday night for two and there is a small parking lot in the back. We ordered the lemon chicken, grilled salmon, calamari, and ceviche. Last night was the first time I dined at foothill. I've driven by here many times, and I frequently visit the McDonald's next door too and I've only seen the signs to not park at McDonalds to eat at foothill. I just dined in with a group of friends. I was surprised how big it was and it was able to accommodate our party of twelve. There were also a couple of other larger parties there as well and it's a fairly big space even though it doesn't look like it from the outside. The only problem is parking can be a little bit dicey in the parking lot but there are some options for street parking if you got lucky. For my food I got the steak frites. it came with butter and marrow on top. And the fries were really good as well. Because of other items that other people in the party got were the pork chop, the fish tacos, and the shepherd's pie. Overall, everyone seemed to enjoy their food. The service was really good. For the larger groups, keep in mind that they charge a 20% gratuity fee that's included. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Met some friends for Sunday brunch. Were going to sit outside but it was a rainy day! Inside was nice. Lots of small groups. There were 4 of us and we had a nice tall table in the corner. Our server was very nice and friendly, and gave us time t9 catch up with drinks before we placed our order. The food was delicious. My husband had the short rib hash which he loved and has been talking about since. He said next time he will ask for the eggs over easy or poached, so more yolk can run into the dish. I had the chicken chilaquiles with green sauce, and they were amazing. Loved them so much! My partner and I have come here a few times. I don't know if the January fires affected the crowd but it was pretty empty when we arrived at 9:30am. We were seated right away on the patio. Our server was very friendly and attentive and our food came out in a timely manner. The Chilaquiles had a good kick of flavor and had some spice to it. My partner wanted good ol' eggs and potatoes. This is hidden gem on Foothill boulevard. I have been here a few times. This evening, we came to try their happy hour. There is a good selection on happy hour small bites and plenty of drinks to choose from. I ordered the fried fish taco and short ribs taco. My boyfriend had the fried shrimp taco and the Mediterranean shrimp. I had a glass of red. While eating for our food, we admired the decor of the restaurant. It has a casual vibe and I love the dark wood with grey and complimented well with the brick facade. The server was very attentive. Even though she knew we were here for happy hour, she was nice to share with us the dinner special. The food came out promptly. One thing I'd really like was the food temperature. The waitress was friendly and I appreciated the attention she gave to my dogs, who came out from under the table to say hi :) The restaurant was still on their brunch menu when we arrived at 1pm on a Saturday. I ordered the garden wrap, one of the few non-breakfast type items listed on the menu (I was not in the mood for breakfast or eggs). Going to split this review into 2: Breakfast/Brunch: - Great experience since the food options are diverse and generously portioned and wait staff is very attentive and personable. Great way to spend your mornings on the outdoor patio. Weekends are a bit crowded but, the outdoor patio seating area is perfect for family gatherings and/or bringing your fur baby (yes, this restaurant is pet friendly and the wait staff love the fur babies). Dinner: - Evenings are a bit "bland" in comparison. My main complain is that the front desk people are not as welcoming and give the impression that the hostess would rather not be working / interacting with guests. It gives a bad impression especially if, as a repeat patron, I wanted to bring anyone to the restaurant. - waitstaff remains to be attentive and personable. I would definitely buy the 2 waitresses that came over to say hi to my partner and I + our fur baby a couple of drinks. - I recommend sticking to the appetizers for dinner. The Steak Frites was a bit too salty and had more fatty bits than I would have preferred (the fries are bomb tho). Wings and veggies are a hit! The charcuterie felt it was missing something but, it was a cute snack to enjoy with some wine. Where do all the locals go? And the visitors? Well, they go to Foothill who is open from early in the morning to dessert time in the evening. The menu was clear, short and to the point. The food was prepared as described and above par. The service (I sat at the bar) was good. I tried their Chorizo Chilaquilles which was absolutely delightful. I had them scramble my eggs however, an afterthought told me to try it again next time and get my eggs poached instead. Their Mimosa carafes were priced right. And the amount is perfect for 4 people to have a couple eye openers in the morning or for 1 person = whatever you decided to do. They are a sportsbar and american diner type location. So expect noise. So expect sports talk. They have a separate private room if you are interested in group events and they do have an outdoor patio dining area. Parking in the rear of the building. I expect they will run out of parking during their busier times. I am not sure if it was mentioned on the menu proper (it should have been, or I think you could argue it) but since I didn't have a "large" group I can't speak to the automatic gratuity of 20% and if you weren't told in advance, I think it's an arguable point as well. First time at this place. Celebrated our company holiday get together here. Travis our waiter was super awesome. Took care of our 15 people group with the most exceptional service all around! My wagyu burger medium-rare was cooked to perfection and the side of onion rings were solid as well. The standout star at our table was definitely the portabello mushroom appetizer. Big thick slices deep fried and topped with garlic parmesan cheese and other house seasonings paired with a side of mayo based creamy yet a bit tangy side sauce. DEE-Licious and would highly recommend. Great spot with a large outdoor patio area that can accomodate large groups. The only negative is the parking here is very limited and during prime time lunch and dinner times is nearly impossible to park in their 10 spot lot. We came here at the suggestion of a friend to celebrate her birthday. I ordered the salmon and was quite happy with it. Salmon was cooked perfectly, and it came on a bed of fresh spinach and silky mashed potatoes. The lemony buerre bland sauce on top was unctuous with the right touch of acidity. It was a generous portion and I took half home with me. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich, which was also a generous portion. The chicken breast was fried to a nice golden crisp, and he said it was good but not great. He enjoyed half of it for lunch the next day. The fries were OK - nothing out of the ordinary. Our birthday guest had fish and chips, which looked a bit beige and uninspired to me but she enjoyed it thoroughly. I didn't try that dish so I can't comment on the taste. They brought out ice cream with hot chocolate sauce as a birthday surprise for our friend, which she enjoyed very much. Came back to foothill on a sunny Saturday for brunch with the bestie. Party of 2 + 2 (with the doggos). We lucked out on the most perfect sunny day, and sitting outside in the patio area was a dream. Parking is a bit tight with a small lot, but we easily found street parking nearby, so no biggie. I got the classic, which they call "the Standard," an egg, hash brown, and bacon breakfast. I also got a side of Caesar Salad to get my greens in. Everything was delicious, but my small bowl of Caesar salad was $9, which felt a little steep. My bestie got the eggs benedict and she gives it a thumbs up. To drink, I got the chai with almond milk, and it was great! The real highlight, though, was the service. Our awiter, Traviss, was great - super attentive, constantly refilling our waters, and checking to make sure we were happy. Been living around these parts for years but haven't bothered checking this place out. A company party made it happen and so here I am. First off, parking is a problem. The lot in back is small and it's shared with other adjacent businesses. Your best bet is out front in the street or across the street in the business strip mall area. Anyway, it doesn't look big from the outside, but there's a lot of room inside for sure. Very stylish, classy decor. They have copper plated tables here, which is kind of cool but it gives off a little bit if a scent. There's also a spacious outdoor patio with cafe style lighting. Classic Americana dishes on the menu and a nice selection of mixed spirits. This is a great choice for company parties or even a date. Ordered the following: - Cobb salad - 7.5/10: pretty standard, nothing outstanding. Bountiful serving that will definitely fill you up. - Old Fashioned - 9/10: now this is what I'm talking about. Later discovered you can keep going west on Foothill then turn right on Daisy and park there for free. Sat inside. Mel and Val came and we all ordered breakfast. I ordered the chicken chilaquiles with the jalapeño green sauce on the side (since I can't eat spicy) and added avocado. All of our food came together. Mine came without avocado. Asked the server who dropped it off and they went back to the kitchen to get it. Avocado came and I started to dig in to my chilaquiles. Then I realized, I couldn't find the chicken. Was it so so so tiny and mixed in with the white cheese? Maybe it blended so easily with the rest of the food that I couldn't see it? Maybe I need new contacts. I then asked our server where the chicken was. Because I couldn't see it. She took it back, told me that they were making a brand new chilaquiles because she also couldn't see the chicken. The chicken was invisible. She apologized for the delay. She thanked us for being patient with them. But while waiting, Mel and Val almost finished their food. The 7 of us came for brunch on a recent Sunday AM with a reservation made online. We were seated right away, after about 30 mins into our meal the place was packed! Foothill is definitely popular for weekend brunch. It was also VERY noisy, something with their walls where everyone's conversation just echoed off each other. I can only hear my hubby who sits across from me, but no one else at our table unfortunately. Would love to come back when it's not a hot day so we can enjoy the outdoor patio with our dog. Onto the food, I got a chicken chilaquiles that comes with 2 eggs and I swap the spicy verde green sauce for the tomato red sauce. I think this may just be regular enchilada sauce, but it was very good and glad it's not spicy. Hubby ordered a cheeseburger and his plate was empty pretty quickly. Couple people in our group ordered the chicken and waffles and both agreed the chicken was a bit dry. Another person ordered the crab cake benedict and they enjoyed it.
