The vibe was super cute inside, and the outdoor seating wasn't cold at all it had an incredible view. I didn't know what to get so I just asked the server a recommendation and gave her my preferences and she picked my drink for me and I ended up really liking my drink. Their drinks have a good amount of alcohol in them. My friends got the chai martini and espresso martini which they liked and said was very strong.

Beautiful space, good music, service was great. View was beautiful but depending on your preference of the view for a "roof top" it's a bit restricted. We ordered drinks-old fashion and a cosmopolitan. For food totnacho delicious chipotle chicken, cheese, beans, corn, and tots with a side of sour cream and guacamole.

Margaritas - made just right!

Such a fun night for dinner and drinks in Seattle at the Fog Room! Great views from the patio, good drinks, appetizers and great service! So glad we gave it a try!

Great selection of food. The seared Ahi was fresh, tasty and a good portion. Always great service here. Friendly staff and super helpful. The vibe is mid-century modern with some indoor and outdoor seating. Great views of the city, water, and ferry traffic. Definitely recommend for a cocktail and a bite to eat.

Fog Room is located on the 16th floor of the Charter Hotel, and it has such a cool vibe with some of the best views of the city! I'd highly recommend for date night after dinner if you're looking to keep a good time going. Fortunately, my partner and I stayed at the Charter and through AMEX, we had a $100 credit per night, which we could redeem at Fog Room. I booked a 9:30 reservation through Resy, and the experience was seamless from start to finish! We were greeted, ID-ed, and seated at a high top table for two close by the bar area, which had amazing views of the city. Service was quick, and we were told upfront to save room for the complimentary birthday dessert. I appreciated their attention to detail, especially since the purpose of our trip was to celebrate the occasion. We ordered the half dozen raw oysters, chicken wings, and two cocktails. While we waited, we took pictures outside on the patio and by the time we were done, our food was waiting for us at the table. The oysters were so fresh and flavorful, and I received more than six since they were on the smaller size. For dessert, I had the option of either the carrot cake or Ube cheesecake. The cheesecake was delicious and one of my favorite bites from our weekend getaway! Thank you, Fog Room, for making my birthday celebration so special.

Had a late-night drink date with my hubby here, and it was perfect. We didn't make a reservation but managed to snag a table outside. The servers were all super nice, and the city view from our table gave off that quintessential "I'm in Seattle" vibe. I ordered an Old Fashioned--and ended up having three. The first one was great, but I noticed the taste varied slightly with each round, which I learned was due to different bartenders. As someone who orders Old Fashioneds often, I can say they know what they're doing here. I'll definitely be back for a quick drink date and some relaxed chit-chat.

Came to Fog Room after a long day of work and made sure to be here right when they opened. At 4:30 it was surprisingly quiet, which meant I had the space to myself to enjoy the stunning water view overlooking the Seattle pier. The vibe is laid-back yet classy, service was quick, and everything came out hot and fresh. I ordered the Fog Old Fashioned and raw oysters--the drink came with both an orange and lemon twist, fragrant with a strong yet balanced flavor, while the oysters were fresh and sweet, just as PNW oysters should be. Toward the end of summer in Seattle, rooftop bars like Fog Room are unbeatable. With fabulous weather, great cocktails, and sweeping views, this is one of the nicest rooftops in the city. Highly recommend for small bites or drinks before dinner.

Service: staff was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable of what to recommend. Food/drinks: we didn't eat anything but the drinks are amazing!!! Ambiance: very modern decor. You have a decent view of the city, it does get pretty loud, it seem like this is a go to for birthdays and also to pre drink prior going to a different bar. No dress code.

Our server was really nice but maybe stretched too thin bc she forgot to put our order in and threw away her paper that she wrote it on so she had to come re take our order. We had full intentions of ordering entrees from here but they were out of the main dishes. Just seems like the kitchen manager isn't planning well, staff doesn't have help from management. The First Gentleman was attentive and we got our drinks and an appetizer timely. We ordered our second appetizer with our first server and thats where the service deteriorated. I could hear the table next to us ordered the exact same appetizer as we did 10-15 mins after we did and a new server who must had just clocked in brings them the order literally within 2-3 mins later and the male commented, "oh that was fast" and I thought to myself they got our order. Another 10-15 mins go by and I had to ask "do you know how long our order will take to which she seemed to get annoyed. It could have my energy because by that time I was annoyed. I'm not sure what happened to our original server but he must have gotten off. About 5-10 mins goes by and here it comes. That confirmed the table next to us got our order because of how long it took. They never apologized for their mistake. Doing all that time they never came back to see if we would like another drink. I had to flag someone down. The clincher was we got our bill and there was 22% service charge. That was on me because if I would have seen it I might not have gone. I'm not a fan of automatically charging a service charge. I'm a great tipper but it must be earned. By than I was really annoyed and thought to have a conversation with the manager but let it go. I would not go back. The craft cocktails are spendy but I had no problem with that because they're creative and they earned it by being creative. But the energy and the environment wasn't like the other speak easy bars I visited. It was boring and to top it off the service charge of 22% and the service that came with it sealed it for me. Make sure to read the website on their thought around the 22%.

As a self-appointed connoisseur of speakeasies (a title I awarded myself after extensive…read more"research") Needle and Thread sits comfortably at the top of my list. While reservations aren't technically required, let me save you some heartbreak, make one. They only open reservations six days in advance, and this place fills up faster than brunch spots when the sun comes out in Seattle. Totally worth the planning. The experience starts downstairs at Tavern Law restaurant, where you let the host know you're headed to Needle and Thread. From there, you're directed to a mysterious locked door next to a telephone. Yes, an actual phone. Pick it up, give your reservation name once someone answers, and bam! You're buzzed upstairs like you've just passed a very classy secret test. Once inside, you're greeted and escorted to your seat, and the magic really begins. There's no drink menu because why limit creativity? Instead, the staff plays cocktail therapist, asking about your favorite spirits, flavors, and moods. Based on your answers, they craft a completely custom drink tailored to your palate. Every cocktail we tried was spot-on. Balanced, intentional, and clearly made by people who treat mixology like an art form rather than a guessing game. Bonus points: You can request the coaster they took your order on, which lists the ingredients so you can attempt to recreate it at home (results may vary depending on your confidence and liquor cabinet.) Not to be overshadowed by the drinks, the Sockeye Salmon Crostini was a fantastic fresh, flavorful appetizer and the perfect companion to a night of bespoke cocktails. They have other heartier food as well, but we had dinner reservations elsewhere for the evening. Between the immersive entrance, outstanding service, thoughtful drinks, and authentic speakeasy atmosphere, this isn't just a bar, it's an experience. If you're in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Needle and Thread is a must try.

Instagram : @yeapeats…read more I was excited to try Needle & Thread since it's often described as a speakeasy, but the "hidden" aspect didn't quite live up to expectations. Unlike other speakeasies that feel truly hidden, you actually just walk into Tavern Law, check in with the hostess, and let them know you have a reservation. They then guide you to a telephone where you repeat your reservation name before being let upstairs. It's a fun concept, but not especially secretive, and they're pretty strict about not letting you up early unless it's very empty. Once seated, we actually waited almost 20 minutes before being served with no acknowledgement. We ended up having to flag down the manager just to bring attention to our table, which was disappointing given the experience they're aiming for. The waitress asks a series of questions about your preferences--likes, dislikes, and flavor inspirations--so the bartenders can create custom cocktails for you. If you're knowledgeable about alcohol, this is probably a dream. If you're not (like me), it can feel a little intimidating, but our waitress was patient and did her best to guide us through it. The drinks themselves were excellent. Even the shots were customized, which was a nice touch. The vibe upstairs is chill and relatively quiet, making it a great place to relax and talk. Food is the same menu as downstairs at Tavern Law, so nothing new there. The only downside--and unfortunately a noticeable one--was an interaction with the female bartender (not our waitress). Based on the questions we were asked, my friend gave a mix of savory and sweet preferences, since we were told these were just inspirations. However, the female bartender came over sounding visibly annoyed and said, "So do you want savory or sweet? You're giving contradicting answers." The tone felt unnecessarily rude, especially since we were just following the process as it was explained to us. Overall, the drinks were great and the concept is unique, but between the delayed service and that negative interaction, it definitely put a damper on the experience.
