This is the best rooftop bar in Seattle imo!!!! The view might not be as good as the Nest or Mbar but drinks are delicious, service is 10/10, the atmosphere is relaxing and intimate. They also have outdoor heaters, outdoor fireplace and you can make rsvp online. Definitely recommend!!! read more

First time at the Fog Room for my boyfriend and I's anniversary. We made the reservation about 2 weeks prior and left a note that it was a special day, if we could please get a nice spot in the restaurant. Staff did sit us right away, although great seating was available both inside and outside we were sat at the back near the kitchen entrance. Not the vibe we were going for at all. We also were just coming for drinks and dessert and the drink I had was great. My bf loves old fashions and they just did not have those down. Dessert was recommended by the waiter but did not mention it was a flourless, vegan/GF option. I always love hanging out at rooftop bars overlooking the city. The Fog Room isn't exactly on the roof, but it is still high enough to have great views of Second Avenue with some water views too. We were seated outside and they had a fireplace on a table, so it wasn't too cold. I enjoyed my cocktail that I got here and I liked how their ice says "FOG" on it, definitely a nice touch. Overall, service, drinks, and views were great so I would definitely come back here. read more

I took my family(3 ppl) to the Fog Room for a fancy cocktail when I visited on thanksgiving weekend. We ordered our drinks. We liked the music ( LDR) and the view. The server brought out two iced drinks, and said they were pulling the espresso for the third cocktail. We waited for the third cocktail. 30 minutes later the espresso based cocktail was brought. At this point our two early delivery drinks, which we did not partake, were diluted. We mentioned our dilemma to the server. She made NO attempt to compensate for the 30 minute delay in finding espresso for the third cocktail. We left all three drinks untouched on the table and decided to bail out. On the way out we passed a bar on the first floor which had an espresso machine! All they had to do was ride down get the espresso and make the cocktail at the same time so we would be served together. Were we two really supposed to drink in front of the third person for 30 minutes? Why were two drinks made and delivered to a party of three? I have worked as a server and always offered something if there was an unusual delay. In this case, she could have offered to remake our diluted drinks, offer an appetizer, something! But nooo! She brought out three more coworkers and none of them corrected her as to proper customer service. Proves the automatic gratuity results in less service than an earned gratuity. So we walked up the street to Provisions and enjoyed lovely cocktails with awesome service on point. read more

"Mid" is the best way to sum the joint up. In comparison to other rooftop bars around, The Nest has better views and everything tastes better at Frolik. Both have noticeably better service as well. Hostess seemed particularly unhappy upon arrival and servers were inconsistent and slow the whole evening. Ordered more than half the food menu, but the fries were the only item arguably good. Cocktails are strong, but something about the mix of ingredients doesn't come together perfectly. The Sazerac was noteworthy though and probably the one drink I'd come back for. Biggest gripe was the gnats. Just nasty and unmanageable swarms of them that come for your neck if you sit outside or next to the sliding window. You could sit away from those areas, but half the purpose of visiting the Fog Room is for the view and understandably, most people want to sit in the open on the rare sunny Seattle day. There's no way to win and that's essentially how the whole experience felt. If you still decide to check it out, I'd stay for a drink or two at most, but it's not somewhere worth spending considerable amount of time or money at. read more

On my last visit, the service seemed to have dipped again. I really hope they can work out these kinks, as this place has potential. Initially I was seated outside despite booking an indoor table but that was quickly rectified once the host was able to verify my initial booking. Unfortunately it took over 20 min to get my first drink and there were long waits to flag down staff to order and pay for the check. They didn't seem that busy, but maybe were short staffed. Now if this isn't hypocrisy, I don't know what is. Drinks: we got the fog room old fashioned which was pretty good. Their good fellas looked amazing as well with the kind of presentation. We had some time to kill before a Sunday night show at the Moore Theatre and decided to check out Fog Room. It is a bit unsuspecting sitting on top of the Charter hotel and boasts somewhat unobstructed views (for now.) It was admittedly pretty dead, but I wouldn't expect much different being a Sunday night. Here's where I'll dock the rating a bit- after making our way up the elevator and wandering in, we went mostly unnoticed and found our own cozy spot in a window corner. After a little while, a very friendly waitress came by to check on us and take our drink order. Ordered the downfall and the bank statement (or whatever it has been renamed to- couldn't find an updated cocktail list), and a dozen oysters. The drinks were decent, and the oysters were small but great. The waitress did check on us frequently and was excited for us (and jealous) about the James Blake show we were headed to. I can't speak yet for Fog Room on busier nights, but between the decor/ambiance, views, and hip rooftop offerings- I think this could become a solid choice for a more mature Seattle audience. From other recent reviews, it sounds like service could use some work- but assuming they are listening to feedback, there's hope. I'll try again, cheers! read more

Came here for a going away party and we had the back room reserved which was called the Treehouse . I mean it was a nice size room to have a mixer in, but the faint elevator music they had playing throughout the entire lounge was not so cool. We tried to request a music change for the backroom at least and they said all the music was linked together and couldn't. Everyone knows good music is what keeps the good vibes going. It was definitely a buzz kill that people tried to tune out! I had two glasses of Rose which was very good and a side of fresh fries that I devoured and realized how hungry I was LOL!!! It was a nice place, but would never come back because it's just not lively enough for me and way too relaxed for a weekend lounge/bar... But the waitress was super sweet and everyone was nice.. They closed down the bar downstairs and we walked up to the fog room to grab a couple beers to take back to the room, we were greeted by an a**hole of a manager that accused us of bringing in outside beers because the bartender failed to open them. He became very hostile towards my father and I. When we told him that we purchased them from the bar he became very defensive and insulting. This bar is located on the 16th floor of the Charter Hotel. It's a decent place to hang out and have a nightcap or a break from the shopping. We arrived here at around 4:30 on a Sunday. It was fairly empty, so we were able to sit anywhere wanted. We chose to sit as close to the window as possible. There is currently some construction that is obstructing the views, but overall, it's a great vantage point to get a good glimpse of the city. We ordered some beers and cocktails along with some fries. The fries were okay. A little salty for my liking, but I still ate it anyway! When we asked for the bill, I noticed that gratuity and tip were already included, but asked for an additional tip if necessary. I found it odd, as it's just a lounge, but I guess that's up to your own jurisdiction if you'd want to add an extra tip or not. read more

It takes one person to ruin your entire experience and that is why I'm giving this review 2 stars. I would understand if we occupied a table and didn't order anything, but we kept ordering drinks and food. So we occupied the table for 3 and a half hours all together. I came at 7:45 after work. At 8:15 the hostess came up to our table and told us we had 30 more minutes and had to leave due to another reservation. Our waitress told us they will accommodate and seat the reservation at another table. Upon leaving, a group of 5 or 6 guys came to our table and one of them looked at me and said "are you the group that stayed here for 5 hours?" I said "I don't know, probably." The guy looked at me and said "yea so we where informed by the hostess." The hostess Kris followed to clean our table with a very bad attitude. One we were not there for 5 hours. And second, you don't tattle on customers like that. Very awful customer service on her end. We had a great evening and it was ruined by Kris. It was embarrassing and made us all feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. We spent money there to have a great time. The drink menu is very abundant, the food menu is small. I must have made a note in the reservation about it being my boyfriend & I's anniversary because once we were seated (we were seated right away) the server and hostess gave us 2 free glasses of delicious champagne. We came to the Fog Room before our dinner reservation and had a great time. Our hostess recently moved to Seattle from the Bay Area and was such a delight! Her and our server gave us ideas for things to do on our last day in Seattle in addition to drink recommendations. My boyfriend had a moscow mule, which he loved and I had the Hotel Nacional which was perfect! The hotel nacional had great flavor & was just the right amount of sweet. We also enjoyed a side of fries. The prices were a little high but you're really paying for the breathtaking view!
