    Flavorless Mac n cheese
    Kris B.

These days airports have no excuse to provide bad food. There's so much out there, wonderful franchises with delicious choices. This is not it. Order at kiosks, no human engagement, which is fine. But why ask for a tip? Choices were no tip, 18%, 20%, 25%. Not a choice to customize tip or give 15. Do you think that kiosk is going to see that money, nope! I got The Standard - just bun, chicken, lettuce, tomato, pickles and added honey mustard. Bun was stale, chicken was moist but the sandwich was ruined with bad bread. I upgraded $2 to get Mac n Cheese. This was flavorless and the pasta was mushy/not drained well. I have never in my life not finished a serving of Mac n Cheese, but today was the day. So it was uninspired food, that was of course, airport prices. Disappointing.

The chicken and bread were and there wasn't much sauce. The fries were unusual shape and okay. I didn't interact much with the staff so unsure about them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a walk up so ambience was crappy plus there was so construction which was noisy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

3.5 Due to long wait time and limited seating. My husband and I stopped at Flyrite Chicken while waiting for our flight at the airport. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was really warm in this location of the airport.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We walked up to the restaurant and there was a line. We waited for a good 15 minutes as the line went slow. There was an ordering kiosk that you place your order on and pay for your meal. You put your name on the order and then move out of the way. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are a limited number of tables to sit at so there were a lot of people standing around waiting for their food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Eventually after about a 15 minute wait they called my husband's name and we got our order and left to find a place to sit In the cooler area of the airport. I ordered the Standard Chicken Sandwich which comes with Chicken, Lettuce, Tomates, and Pickles. I ordered my sandwich with the Hoss Sauce. My meal came with a side of the Sidewinder Fries. I also ordered a Bottled Water to drink. The Sandwich was decent. The chicken was a good size and it was tender on the inside. The lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles were fresh. The Hoss Sauce that was in the Sandwich was tasty. The Sidewinder Fries were thick and very filling. Overall it was an okay experience. The food was decent for Airport food. The whole process from waiting to order to getting our food took about 30 minutes which is kind of long. It was a good thing we had time to wait before our flight.

I was starving and remembered I used to love flyrite in Austin, so I swung by.. Well.. the chicken tenders looked like they'd been in the back of the freezer and then got cooked twice and the fries had green(!!!!) ends? $21 for water and that. I ate it - we'll pray I don't get sick.

Very good tenders and fries. They were pretty busy and some other people were unhappy with the service but I don't care about that at an airport food court. The food was hot and really good, we went back and got a second order.

Grabbed dinner here while waiting for my flight to board. The photos they had on display and on the ordering kiosk look nothing like the actual food. I got the cowboy with fries and also got extra sauce. Food was ready in about 5-10 minutes. Fries were solid, good crisp. I like the shape, but will note it definitely doesn't look like the straight cut shown on the menu. Chicken sandwich was a huge disappointment -- there was literally no flavor at all. The sauce was the only thing saving it. Would only come back for the fries.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]seating was slim to none, we had to find elsewhere to sit and eat our food[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] ordering was easy as it was through a self service tablet $12.49 for three tenders and a small bag of fries is the cost of regret and still being hungry defo should've checked yelp before settling for this

I was flying home to Indy from Atlanta, and had a connection flight in Austin. I needed a quick bite to eat before the flight, and I noticed Flyrite was nearby, so I decided to grab something from there. Apparently, this is a well known chicken sandwich chain in Austin, similar to Chick-fil-A, but much more upscale. I ordered through the kiosk, and then waited for my order for pick up. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. The buffalo chicken sandwich was definitely spicy, but it was fantastic! The texture of the chicken was good and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The fries were Ok but nothing too exciting. Since I ordered through the kiosk, I cannot really speak to the customer service, but the kiosk was very easy to use and placing my order was not difficult to do at all. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is nothing to write home about because this is an airport vendor restaurant and you are basically picking up your food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vendor itself is very colorful and stands out among the other airport vendors in the Austin Airport terminal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That is really all I can say about the ambiance. Flyrite is a great restaurant at the Austin Airport if you want something to go before your flight. The chicken sandwiches are wonderful and you get the quality and value for your money. A great place overall for a sandwich!

Yowza, this place...the experience I had in November of last year really makes the top ten worst airport meals I've experienced. The food served in this establishment is not the same as what's served in the east or north ATX locations. What I ordered was a chicken sandwich with cheese. What I received (as pictured) was a dry processed piece of chicken with congealed orange cheese and jalapeno slices. Two stars were given for the speed of which this calamity was given to me and the friendliness of the self-serve kiosk that I ordered my food on (insert sarcastic eye roll here). Please forgo this option when at ABIA. Total for this calamity: $12.88

I understand that the Austin airport location may be different from the actual brick & mortar location. This was a pretty good option (but we might have been better off getting more food from Salt Lick). The ordering was quick and easy but there weren't a tons of items to choose from. The food was ready within a few minutes. The chicken sandwich was okay and the tots and dipping sauce were good. The value was not on point.

Spicy Boys has four locations in the Austin area, with probably their most popular at Zilker Brewing. They are a spicy chicken establishment and their spicy chicken comes in different shapes and sizes from bone-in fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, and nuggets. I have only ever ordered their fried chicken sandwich and every time, I have been a fan. I always get their middle option in heat, the Hot Gai, which is sandwiched between the OG and the Tingly Gai. It hits every time. The mayonnaise, the pickles, the perfectly crisp chicken: you can't miss it. As a side, I ALWAYS without fail get their Tater Tots. They are consistently crispy while remaining soft on the inside. Sometimes I will get it seasoned with their Tingly Sichuan, but the heat is sometimes too much. I cannot recommend the tots enough. Spicy Boys is one of those places that is always there for you. They are consistently open and the people making the orders are putting a ton of dedication into making them smack every time. The sandwich alone comes at $9.50 with the tots at $3.50, which seems on par or slightly lower than a typical food truck if my memory serves me right. I recommend giving them a shot whether you are at Spokesman in Pflugerville, St. Elmo Brewing, or Zilker off 6th Street. It's in the upper echelon of food trucks. RIYL: peak chicken sammys
