My 3pc Chicken Tenders
Gary W.

I ordered the 3pc Chicken Tenders. This is what I received, not tenders. They were all coating, overcooked and hard. Whataburger has gone so downhill since being bought out.

I had come to the airport to pick up my wife Shana and my step child who were both coming back from Japan. Shana had helped and added to many of my reviews on here and will have some reviews of places in Japan later. This was not a bad place. Lobby was a decent size, food was good and at the time I was there it came out faster than any other Whataburger I've been at. It wasn't crowded but it had a steady stream of people. The staff was fine. More talking to each other than the guests but not rude and got my order correct. It was mostly clean, a few tables were dirty and both trash cans were full. Overall a soild idea and placement. The hours are weird, 7 am to 10 pm but still not bad.

First timers as we are not from the area. It literally was the closest food place coming out of the airport and we were starving. Breakfast appealed to me as its was close to midnight.

I was at the airport cellphone lot and there is a Whataburger! What?! Nice, so if you have a long wait like me it was great to grab a snack. I got French fries with no salt and they were very temperature hot and served right away and very tasty! I recommend the fries with no salt. Restaurant Cleanliness: The place is not the cleanest and flies are zipping around. Bathroom cleanliness: below average, the public bathroom around the corner is cleaner.

On my second night in Austin, I was asked what I had done so far and where had I eaten? At that point, all I had was In and Out. I was told I had to try Whataburger-- so when we went to put gas in the rental truck, I saw it, and I fired I had to give it a shot. The wait was a little long, but I orders a basic cheeseburger with fries and onion rings. It was a little costly, for what I anticipated, but the food was great. The only thing I found odd was I told her I didn't want pickles, only lettuce, tomato and onions. She said what about mustard-- I was a little confused, but the. I remembered last year when I went to Atlanta, and tried Krystal, they too, put mustard on my burger. I just chalked it up as maybe it's a Southern thing, lol. Nonetheless; I was pleased with the food and the cleanliness, which you don't really see in most fast food places. Well, in NYC, I should say...

One last run at Whataburger before catching a flight back to SoCal. I try not to miss a stop at one of these spots whenever I'm in Texas, so it was the perfect place to be given a couple of hours to kill before the trip. I thought it was convenient since it's literally a minute away from the terminals. Not a lot of customers - it was some random mid-week late afternoon, so needless to say, we were the only customers on hand. I didn't want anything different so I went for my usual #2 combo (double meat, no cheese, no pickles, add ketchup with fries and drink.) And since my party of 4 were the only ones here, our food came out rather quickly. It is as expected: food had that "Whataburger" flavor and taste. However, my patties felt a little overcooked, but nothing detrimental. Fries were cooked to a great crisp. It definitely hit that teenee hunger pangs I was having before hopping on the trip home. FOOD: 3.5. VALUE: 3. SERVICE: 5. Staff was friendly, food came out fast. What's there not to like?! PARKING: It is mainly an airport stop for the most part, so if spots get taken, it won't be long before another opens up. Wasn't an issue for this stop, though. OVERALL: 3.75. I should make a vow to try something else next time - maybe that patty melt Big Bro opted for... but yeah, there most likely will be another visit, a "grub-before-a-flight" stop of sorts... I shall return!

Soggy bun
Morgann G.

Restaurant is at Airport. Very busy and long lines. Ridiculous in my opinion. I was in line for over 25 minutes. Then when I finally got my burger, the bun was soggy. Really!!! I was at the actual window for over 5 minutes. No food was on site. How was my bun soggy!!! Never eating here again. $12 for a soggy burger, cold floppy fries, and a drink. Totally NOT worth the money.

21 minute wait for a fajita taco and fries Lukewarm food Hate it No reason it should happen Girl with red/black hair was eating while making food-shoving chicken tenders with gravy on her mouth. Disgusting step off line and eat or DONT eat. Simple Later She was standing around playing with her phone leaning against the counter SMH Cheese was congealed inside which means it was made hot and sat around and cooler off We sat around waiting on each other apparently But no one told me food was ready I had so much time in my hands I timed 5 other people and average wait was 18 mins for 6 of us That's people who walked in, ordered and intended to eat here I can't comment on call in or app orders as there seemed to be many people 6-8 who also did that and got food faster. So tho use of us who wanted to eat in were punished ? Table of 5 waited more than 35 mins Glad I was solo....geez I counted at Least 5 employees plus guy taking orders Mr K I guess they were playing their version of the quiet game cause they hardly said two words to ANYONE Blonde from kitchen delivered three orders and never said as much as Screw your guys here is you food NO WORDS She brought out my order, started at my number tent, walked away and I said Is that 86? She did nothing No acknowledgement 5 mins later Same size and folded bag, brought it to me. cmon WB, you gotta do better than this Airport or No airport this adventure was crappy Trash outside drive through was allllll over the ground Over flowing Fries were hot....only redeeming thing. I recommend you bring your own food and skip this joint Tim Where the hell wall Alivin? Cause there was nothing good about employees tonight.....glad your review was pleasant but the overwhelming sentiment is poor Yours is rare

Waiting for way to long for a bad burger

40 min.... yes 40 min in the drive thru for a single combo meal. There's no way to turn around or get out. It's like a time vortex for really bad fast food. Dang I hate late nights needing food and having no options. AVOID THIS PLACE. Not worth the time or money!

These are nuggets, mostly breading.

Meh. Food is uninspired. I do not understand why it's packed. Except that there's not an In-N-Out nearby.

Spent an hour in the drive through just for my food to be cold when I get home. Sorry whataburger that's my fault.

Bird Bird Biscuit - Queen Beak

We ordered the Firebird chicken biscuit sandwich, and it was absolutely incredible. The spicy chicken breast was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, and the combo of fresh dill mayo, house pickles, and cilantro tied everything together so well. Every bite was bold, fresh, and seriously addictive. And the biscuits... unreal!! They were so buttery and flaky that I couldn't leave without taking some home, along with their house jam. Easily some of the best biscuits I've ever had. If you're in Austin, this is a must! No question!

Our daughter used to live a few minutes from the Lamar location, but we've also been to the OG Manor Road location (as we did today). I've yet to try something I didn't like, but the favorite is Bird Bird Bacon. The biscuit is all you could ask for - flaky, buttery, a bit of salt - and if you can't eat it for a little while, it's still good (not all biscuits age well - some are only good as they come out of the oven). The "bird" in this case is the egg, over medium so it doesn't run all over the place, but not dry like a hard boiled egg. The generous stack of bacon is smoky but not overly so. All together, it's an amazing sandwich. If you're hungrier, I suggest the Queen Beak or Theodore. Check the www site for details and click on the Story link too. The chicken is crunchy and fried perfectly. For me, it's a lot to eat, but I have indulged on occasion. Finally, you need to try the Dough Doughs. They're biscuit balls fried up like donuts, about 3xthe size of a donut hole and covered with cinnamon sugar. Absolutely amazing. (I've tried to replicate these at home between visits, but mine are not as good.) Go. Enjoy!!
