Order at the counter with a nice person and find a seat. Can be crowded at mealtime. Parking is extremely limited and is one way in and one way out. Food is good. Hush puppies were great. Absolutely clean, delicious food and I definitely recommend coming here. I sampled 4 random dishes and I was not disappointed at all. And their Micheladas were so delicious it's so hard to find a place that makes a great drink but this was too tear! Service was with a smile and so easy. Shout out to GM David and his kind brother for making our visit so wonderful. I live roughly 45 min to an hour away but definitely worth the drive. Oh and side note the cleanest bathrooms I have came across and that alone is a huge thing for me since I am a germaphobe. You can not go wrong with anything in this menu. So fresh and cooked well. Delicious food! Friendly people! Great atmosphere! I couldn't eat fish but they had great options for vegetarians and vegans. I got the veggie plate with 4 items; the rice and beans, grilled zucchini, corn and potatoes. All were plainly seasoned but were delicious! I believe they have multiple locations in DFW area but this location is awesome. Due to COVID-19, masks were required and you can sit wherever you want in the restaurant either inside or outside. They have a lot of options for seafood so if you like seafood this is the place to go! I highly recommend all the food here it was delicious. Customer service was great too! Me and 3 other coworkers went for lunch today. We sat down and waited for our food, everyone received theirs except me. I walk up with my buzzer and receipt, the manager says oh yeah your order is coming I told him I seen people that were in line well after I ordered receive their food. He said it's coming, I continued to stand and wait and he proceeded to give others their food instead of making sure my order was being made. He served about 6 more customers and I got tired and asked for my refund, at that time he tried to give me my order and I told him no I don't want it now just give me a refund. He didn't try to make it right or anything. Very poor customer service!!!! read more

The food was just okay. We really enjoyed the lobster stew, the real homemade jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon and fried, yummmm. The side coleslaw was also good. Now, the catfish with the shrimp was very disappointing. The thinnest fish you can imagine, basically you "bite" in unseasoned breadcrumbs :( Come on guys, catfish is a very nice fish, how could you mess it up like that??? Shrimp was the same thing, over cooked and dry and the red sauce was also lacking flavors, the tartar was better but we did not pay for the sauce, we wanted seafood. We brought it to the nice gentleman's attention at the counter, he said, oh it's usually not like that. Well, we were not happy and it was a very pricey lunch. They are lucky they make excellent bread puddings ;) Probably won't return. read more

This is not the kind of place to go if you want to know where your seafood came from and/or if you want something fresh, as opposed to frozen. If that's not important to you, then this is a great spot to have some classic seafood dishes. The counter-service line on a Sunday after church tells you everything you need to know! The grilled trout was flavorful and cooked nicely, and the coleslaw had a nice tang. I tried a bite of the Gumbo, as well, and it had a nice kick with lots of sausage and shrimp. Had the rainbow trout with the rice and beans with a side order of squash and zucchini. The fish was dry and no taste, the bean and rice had no taste. And yes even the side order of squash and zucchini was bland with no taste. I added pepper, some salt and Louisiana sauce but still this could not help the food that I paid for. I was hoping for a better outcome. read more

This last visit was the worst visit. We went on 11/27/2022 and noticed that everyone in the kitchen was sick. One of the cooks kept wiping his nose with his hands and touching the food he was preparing and handing to customers. We waited for our food by the counter and all we heard was coughing and sniffing form the whole kitchen staff eww. No one changed cloves and most of them had one glove on and were wiping their hands on their cloths or faces before touching peoples plates. We also found out that they are not serving catfish people you are being served SWAI fish. It's a cheap farmed version of fish. It has no flavor even when seasoned. I noticed this when we both looked at our plates. Yes we still got food after looking at the staff wipe their faces and touch plates. We prayed and ate. But back to the fish we both ordered catfish mine was grilled and my wife's was fried. There was a significant difference in the filet size so I tasted a piece of here's and no flavor at all bland as heck. If you want more info on SWAI fish google it. This place is not serving you what you are paying for. A lot of fish places do this you just have to be aware and call it out. No more SWAI fish!!! read more

Was craving fried catfish last evening but didn't feel like dodging the rain so I used uber eats. I was pleasantly surprised how good the basket I ordered was even after being delivered late. Batter was still crispy and the catfish filets were meaty. They were a tad on the fishy side. The fries were still pretty good also. We have been eating here for a long time. The fried shrimp was so hard it was like biting into a hard piece of candy so then we tried to peel off the batter and you couldn't even remove it. It was like cement. Rice and bean were always our favorite but the Had no taste. Pretty damn sad. read more

It just put me on the spotlight that I (nor several of my coworkers) felt was necessary. I felt bad for my coworkers because they now had genuine concern I might be exposed to something since many had shrimp dishes. I will say that I did enjoy the steak & asparagus. Also, there were larger amounts of time between when the first person got their salad or soup to when the last person received theirs, same situation with the entrées. In both phases they basically asked who was missing what & then asked what they had. Refills & drinks, the same. Maybe they were short handed but if they were, we wished they would've communicated that so we could anticipate any timing issues. Aside from the allergy thing, the staff tending to us were very polite. Maybe it's more of a training issue higher up because they seemed to be doing their best, but right now it's a miss at this location.

It is very diving however it's still very homey. I've been visiting this location for the last 18 years and it never gets old. It is what it is sitting on the back side of Camp Bowie Blvd tucked behind Jack n the box. The staff is always so friendly and there are zero complaints here. Go on an empty stomach because you're going to leave so full and need a nap. Happy anniversary Zekes

It was 'OK' , but didapointed this last week when I went there…read more Was (I repeat WAS) a long time customer since about 1999..NO MORE. They did away with the Jalipeno hush puppies and changed the batter they use on the fish.. So sorry to see an old 'standby' go 'down the tube' when it got sold.
