Fly bye graciously partnered with our son's elementary school did a donation of proceeds, so we went to try it for the first time and for a good cause. Wow- definitely will go back. Fast efficient and friendly service. The pizza is Detroit style and very good... but what impressed me more was that they also made really flavorful salads. You know how some pizza places just toss some lettuce and tomatoes together? Not fly bye- they had avocado, blue cheese, bacon, and more. Soo I put my order in online this morning for pickup at 130pm, then I got busy and forgot to click the I'm on my way button...I was there about 10 minutes early, but they were kinda snarky about it, either way I had scheduled it for 130 so I don't see why they couldn't have just made it so it was ready at 130. Instead they were snarky and it was about 10 minutes late. It was still delicious but it's not my fault as the customer that the automation stuff doesn't work. Which also this morning it wouldn't accept me as being logged in to place the order with a promo code so I had to get my laptop out to even place the order in the first place. We ordered online and picked up curbside service and it was ready right on time. We had a lot of leftovers and they heated up great the next day. They have reheat instructions on the box and it made the food just as good as when we picked it up. I also like how they put the pizza and tenders on a paper lining so it was easy to transport to an oven sheet- then back in the box to keep as leftovers. One of the best pizzas I've had in Arizona especially having a family member who is gluten intolerant, the GF pizza was great compared to others we've tried. Usually GF crusts end up being too soft, chewy or mushy BUT this GF crust stayed crispy and crunchy! The Hawaiian was absolutely delicious in every aspect. The pizza was really good! A bit oily but the crust was delicious. But the salad was subpar and the chicken, while juicy, was just okay - it kind of missed the mark for me. I was disappointed with what I got for the money I spent on it. The Detroit style pepperoni pizza 4 corners was $18 and my avocado salad with grilled/shredded chicken was $16. My salad, was plain. The lettuce wasn't great, there were very few cherry tomatoes, my avocado was turning brown, and the cheese was definitely the center of the dish. The ranch dressing was just okay. For $40 ($3 tip) for a carry-out lunch, I think I'll skip Fly Bye and order from somewhere else. The young girl who brought me my order was very friendly and even asked if I wanted peppers and cheese for the pizza. I ordered for an 11 am pick up and it was ready right at 11. I don't believe they open before then. I love the bold colors of the outside patio and the area definitely needed a restaurant like this but for the prices and what I got... Been wanting to try Fly Bye for quite some time and I must say, it was very impressive and better than I could have anticipated! Like a large majority of us who take the time to leave reviews on Yelp, we are extremely proud and even sometimes borderline prideful in our food opinions. With that being said, lately I have found a good amount of restaurants I have tried all lack "something" and it made me feel like everything lately was dull and just mediocre. As lame it is, I know that "something" came down to salt and flavor. It may sound crazy but living in the Scottsdale/Arcadia area for years, that tends to happen more frequently than not. Fly Bye takes the simple concept of pizza, wings, chicken tenders and fries and gives it the rejuvenation it deserves. My husband and I actually ordered one of everything on the menu (Dry January means you can eat more food if you can't drink, right?) and everything was full of flavor and spice and that's all you can ask for in a restaurant! This place seemed pretty good for some pizza and wings. My brother's mother ordered the family meal and wings. Some of the wings still had their feathers. The box of wings that came with the family meal had not just a hair in it but a BUNCH of hair... long blonde hair. Nobody in our family has blonde hair, let along long blond hair. It seemed like someone grabbed a bunch of hair and threw it in the box. I wish I would have taken a pic. Nothing ruins dinner like bunches of blonde hair and wings with still having feathers. I feel disgusted that they have such poor quality control from such a known restaurant group aka Fox restaurant group. The food here is ABSOLUTELY delicious! Everything we ordered was amazing. The ONLY thing I would say I would have enjoyed differently was putting a balsamic glaze on the copper hat pizza.
