First restaurant of the trip! Gotta taste the datil while you're in town.

Our food and service were great. We had some varieties this time, but the blackened shrimp tacos were on special and honestly was the best thing at the table. Our hostess that met us to put our names in was pretty unprofessional. I'm not looking for formal by any means, but I am looking for a welcome and some pleasantries to get us seated.

A personal favorite of my husbands. He gets the 1/2 lbs burger. This time I got the Shrimp Salad Wrap. MIL also got the pulled pork sandwich which was the special for the day. Our waitress was Tori and she was very quick to get us drinks. We got the cornbread and honey butter for apps and it was delicious. It came with 6 but they were gone before I could get a picture. Very yummy sweet cornbread! The patio is partially covered and dog friendly. THE RANCH is so good. It's the thick kind. My wrap was fine- the shrimp was good. The burger tastes pretty standard. The coleslaw is pretty good as well. It's about 20 degrees cooler in here than it is outside which is nice

We went to St. Augustine to see the Nights of Lights. We only had a little bit of time for dinner before our trolley tour. We stopped in the Florida Cracker Cafe and were glad we did. Our server was super friendly and attentive. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. We had plenty of time to spare to get to our trolley. We all enjoyed everything we ate. The restaurant was decorated for Christmas and Christmas music was playing so it added ambiance to our Christmas celebration. We will be back!

Sat outside on a beautiful day, fast service, delicious food. Ordered the fried green tomatoes appetizer special, burger , shrimp po boy, grilled cheese and tomato soup. The sides were excellent (French fries, cheesy grits, coleslaw and cucumber salad). Excellent, friendly service!

We love Florida cracker, and this experience did not disappoint! We took our out-of-town guests here for lunch while we were walking around St Augustine. It was the perfect timing because it was not packed and we got a perfect table on their outdoor patio! I chose the fried green tomato BLT, our friends chose the fried shrimp, lunch, and the peel and eat shrimp. Both are absolutely fantastic! The batter on the fried shrimp was light and not too caked on, and the quality of both shrimps was extremely fresh. My fried green tomato BLT was absolutely mouthwatering! The batter on the fried green tomato was also light and it paired so well with the bacon and the fresh lettuce! I would absolutely order that again! Highly recommend!! This location is perfect for people with children because the outdoor patio is sectioned off to the side, it is also off the main area, and is spacious so if you have a mobile child, it is nice for them to be able to get up and move around!

Though it is mirrored, these are the specials.

The first time I ate here, it was on a weekend vacation to St. Augustine, coming up with Chops and Ufredo. It was one of many "unique" restaurants along the walkway in Old Town St. Augustine, and one I haven't eated at yet. Ergo, I voted for this place for dinner. Overall, it was okay. Firstly, the restaurant seems to have an ambiance of an open-air dive you'd see in Key West mixed in with the hacienda style best known in Spanish architecture. Ergo, a hybrid of styles that is distinctly Floridian. There was ample room for patrons to enjoy company and a bar for those who'd like some kind of spirit with their meals and/or apps. My crew and I sat at a table. Had the classic picnic table look and the chairs weren't that comfy, but they were functional. Food was satisfactory. I ordered the gator tail and conch fritters. I also had Minorcan soup with was the highlight dish for me. My friends had different styles of shrimp which they said were delicious too. For a $$ price tag of between $11 to $30, not bad at all. Where our initial visit shined positively in was service. Our servers were on par and admirable. Very friendly, kept our drinks filled, and even had some light conversation since we are technically tourists despite being Floridians. Compared to other restaurants along the Old St. Augustine town walkway, there are definitely better options for a higher price. But for the simple Floridian fare The Cracker Cafe serves at the price they offer it, you should surely stop by if you want a good meal on budget. On a sidenote, there are no "restaurant restrooms" and you'll need to go to the many restrooms strategically located along the walkway.

Stumbled into this place walking down St. George street in St. Augustine and was pleasantly surprised! The fried shrimp is a fresh and tasty as you'll find and the famous "pink sauce" to dip it in was incredible! Our server was so helpful and friendly. She's been working here 17 years! The cheese grits were as good as I've ever had! The atmosphere is cute and quaint. I'd eat here again in a heartbeat. They even home make several of their salad dressings.

This review is for the staff we interacted with and the atmosphere and drinks, we did not have any food. But what I can say about the food is every plate we saw walk by it came back to the kitchen empty. During a girl's trip to St. Augustine FL we found ourselves doing tourist stuff and came across the FL Cracker Cafe getting ready to open. We bellied up to the bar and asked if they'd be playing the FL gators game. They were casting it from YouTube off their phone so we knew we'd get to watch it. Out bartender Anthony was great. On the ball and attentive and made it a lot of fun to hang out there for a couple three hours. The kitchen has an open concept we're you can see the chef and his passing food through the window to the servers. "Ross, ready!" We heard that a bunch of times and Ross was super nice too. All and all we had a great time hanging out here in the heart of the tourist part of downtown.

Review: Gator bites, hummus, "Gator Bite" featured cocktail. Came here on a busy Friday afternoon and were sat right away. Server was prompt and super welcoming and wearing super fun skull socks. Ambiance is laid back and relaxed. Husband had the black bean hummus and the kiddo and I split the gator tail, his first time!! Husband really like the flavor and citrus undertones. It's mixed well and the salted kettle chips that are homemade really take it to the next flavor level. The gator bites were served with their own marmalade sauce, tasted like a sweet chili, and a side of lemon. Gator is usually chewy but they tenderized it nicely. The breading was not overly seasoned and the lemon with the marmalade hit it perfect. Their featured cocktail " The Gator Bite" is something I would make at home and really hides the vodka and moscato. Great for a hot day, will def visit again.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

When I arrived with my pregnant wife and my service dog, he asked somewhat curtly if it was a service dog. It was a pretty cold and uncomfortable welcome. That said, the restaurant is absolutely charming. I really loved the interior ambiance--it's cozy, well-decorated, and has a very pleasant vibe. The food was extremely delicious. We ordered the Half Pound Ice Plant Burger and it was juicy, fresh, and packed with flavor. You could taste the quality in every single bite--the meat was perfect, the ingredients fresh, and everything very well balanced. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had recently. Despite the initial host experience, I would return without hesitation for the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommended, but they could improve the initial greeting.
