The food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. Our waitress was kind, attentive, and very polite. We ordered the famous octopus, which was delicious, along with a perfectly cooked steak and excellent shrimp tacos. The guacamole was outstanding, while the churros were good and the flan was just okay. Overall, it was a very enjoyable Mother's Day experience, despite the restaurant being quite packed.

EVUH-REEE-THIING WAS GOOD!!! I went on a Friday night for a bday party an got the green enchiladas. TOO GOODT!!! TRES LECHE?? GOODT!!! I went back the next day for the seasonal Branzino that was good as well. The dish was great. They will absolutely see me again. The ambiance was beautiful and the setting of the venue is brilliant. Trees all around. Doesn't feel like you're in the city. Kudos to you all.

Flora is a must go to at least once in your life restaurant inside of Houston's ethos space of food and dining and everything. The place is amazing from the beautiful aesthetic to where it sits to the food the combinations I definitely recommend this place to everybody and if you haven't gone, please go the skirt state is some of the most tender meat I've ever had from a skirt state in my life just amazing. I can't say enough great things about this place a must try our host that waited for us was amazing. I don't remember his name but it's just outstanding from everything. You cannot beat this place. Go try it.

What an incredible Galentine's Day brunch I had at Flora! Wow this restaurant is something special. I was invited as a plus one for a friend to attend a hosted brunch in the private room. While the event hosts did decorate themselves and it was beautiful, the room itself is so striking it could've still been beautiful just standing on its own. The wait staff took such good care of us with their recommendations, always making sure our drinks were full, and ensuring we had everything we needed before we could even think to ask for it. The waitress that took care of us the most was incredible. We all loved her and I am so sad I can't remember her name because she deserved the recognition! The hibiscus margarita was SO good and so beautiful! We had a preset three course menu, and I truly loved every single thing on it. The tortilla chips are by far the best I've ever had in my 30 years of living and that's saying a lot because I consider myself a Mexican restaurant connoisseur. The guacamole was so fresh and flavorful. The queso was great. While I don't personally eat ceviche, it did look good and was very vibrant. I'd never tried anything like Sopecitos before this lunch. Those were good too!! For my entree, I chose the marinated skirt steak. Again, they knocked it out of the park. It was good and tender. For dessert I had the flan and loved it. I cannot wait to bring my husband back for a date night so I can experience the inside of the restaurant and have him try all the items I've already fell in love with! Thank you for such a wonderful experience Flora!

Service: our server was great. Ambiance: romantic / intimate Drink: - Cucumber margarita: too heavy on the cucumber for me. Had to send it back. 2/10 - Lemon drop: 7/10 Food: - Chips and guacamole: 8/10 - Red snapper ceviche: 8/10 Prices: not worth the value which is why I give this place a 3.5

Beautiful restaurant, wonderful service and excellent food! Arrived with a group of four around 1:30pm. Immediately greeted and welcomed by the server and the managers and started off with margaritas. The octopus chorizo appetizer was delicious and the fajitas were sizzling. They do not have refried pinto beans (only black) but the chips and tortillas were fresh. Definitely will return and highly recommend. The live guitar music was a plus as well!

If you're looking for a perfect brunch patio spot in Houston, look no further! (I recommend reservations though) *The Atmosphere: the outdoor patio sits on the edge of Buffalo Bayou and is surrounded by beautiful, tall trees. There's a roof on the patio to shelter you from the scorching sun or the drenching Houston rain. It couldn't be a more perfect spot. They also have heaters if the temperatures are a little on the chilly side. *The Food (brunch): we had the Huevos Benedictinos ($23) and the Huevos a la Cazuela ($22). Both were SPECTACULAR tasting! I'm not a big chorizo fan, but the combination of the chorizo with the chipotle hollandaise on the slightly crisp sopecitos on the Huevos Benedictinos dish was to DIE FOR! I'm in LOVE with this dish!!! Our server told us that everything is homemade and there is no lard used. Even the refried beans are made without lard - they use olive oil. So if you have any vegetarians in your group, the beans are safe! I almost forgot - the churros are probably the BEST I have ever had. They are served hot, and they literally melt in your mouth - almost like cotton candy. They were TASTY AF! *The Staff: FANTASTIC! We had a group of 7, and our server was spot on with everything. As usual, we have a LOT of questions when we visit a place like this, and our server had answers for everything! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and also seemed passionate about the restaurant and everything they do there.

Charred Octopus

First thing- we had reservations for my dads birthday and we still had to either wait or sit outside (outside was still beautiful and they had heaters to keep you warm just giving a heads up that res here doesn't mean no wait). Our waiter was SO knowledgeable of the menu and nice. Must orders: charred octopus with chorizo and sweet potato- probaly the best octopus dish I've had the flavor is insanely good. I got the carnitas tacos and it was some of the best carnitas I've had- I ate all of it but definitely should have been shared with two people lol. Their chips and tortillas are homemade and taste so fresh. The chocolate lava cake was not my favorite- don't be deceived by the exterior- the inside fully liquid goo and there is no "cake" part of it whatsoever.

It is my wife and I 2 year anniversary and we came to Flora. The server said they are know for their margaritas so I had to give one a try. This is a romantic place with the dim lighting and the whole setup overlooking the natural surroundings. They offer outdoor seating but seeing as it is February and currently cold, we did not partake. I can see however it would be a cool vibe during the spring and summer. I am giving this place 4 because the food isn't the problem. This place is priced high in a market where you can get the same quality of food for a cheaper price. Essentially you are paying the vibe. For example, the ceviche alone is $31 and a half a dozen of raw oysters is $27.. the half a lb of the marinated skirt steak was $58.. The food was good but nothing really wowed to justify the price. I say that to say, if you want a romantic vibe with your significant other, then come. The service is phenomenal and they are very attentive. Mango margarita: 10/10... perfectly balanced. Not too sweet. It has the right amount of liquor and mango in it. Mezcal margarita: 10/10... this was done right. It's Smokey, balanced, and flavored well. I got the classic. Marinated Skirt Steak 10/10... it was flavorful and delicious. You put the lime and a bit of salt and it is an amazing experience. Guacamole and chips 9/10... it was good.. personally I could have used a pinch of salt in it.

Really disappointed. I'd been here once before and I think the food has taken a major turn since then. I ordered the shrimp tacos, a margarita spritz, and the escabeche. The escabeche was so bad I barely touched it. I wasn't asked about why I didn't eat it either. The staff was inattentive and lacked a care for the food. We were not asked if we were satisfied with our orders. My shrimp tacos were tiny and lacked flavor. The tortillas also fell apart really easily and were clearly old. Major disappointment. Would not go back. Would not recommend.

Came by to see about hosting a small party. Everyone I came into contact with was so welcoming and hospitable. We had already eaten dinner so only had drinks and Romeo did not disappoint. The ambiance was beautiful and the drinks were delicious! Romeo introduced me to Stephanie the Events Coordinator and she was kind enough to briefly go over some options and give me a little tour. I can't wait to come back to try the octopus.

Getting here is a bit tricky if you don't pay attention... so PAY ATTENTION! The exit sign throws a lot of people off. Now onto the restaurant- 10/10! Food was so delicious. We went there for brunch- queso was perfect. Chilaquiles are my go to and I was not disappointed. Our waiter was attentive and nice. The ambiance is the cherry on top. Beautiful chandeliers hang above the large open space. Great for pictures inside and outside of Flora!

We arrived at noon on a Friday. We were lucky to grab a parking spot because it is mostly valet. The restaurant is nestled in greenery and on the bayou. It's a scenic welcome. We were greeted immediately by the hostess. She promptly took us to our seats. The decor is so beautiful. Chandeliers galore. They have short racks available for purses and if you aren't able to finish your meal they boxed it up and place the bags there. Our server Gustavo was attentive and brought our food nicely timed from our app, to our salad, main and dessert. It was a 1.5 hour experience. The place was packed at 1:00pm. I'm glad we arrived at noon. All the food was seasoned well and not overly salty. The sopecito felt light and tasty. Great start. The jalapeño basil vinaigrette on the flora salad was spicier than I thought it would be. The Caesar salad was delicious. We were able to get half salads! The volcan tostada was piled high. The fish tacos were good but I'm glad I had the app and salad. The tres leches wasn't overly sweet. The cake structure was sturdy. I would have preferred it a little softer. This is an overall great restaurant to visit. I would recommend it.

Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something different for a night out. Not sure how it took me this long to stumble in here. Parking is what it is downtown so, there's that.

The lighting is dark, intimate, and behind every level and door, there is something else going on. There is an element of discovery in every corner and a new adventure on every floor. Ever watch the movie Tron? There are some areas of BCD that feel incredibly futuristic with neon-lit interiors and a legitimate sci-fi feel in some areas. The areas are ass follows: The main bar with a DJ and a spacious dance floor, the red room with a visualizer setup of big bass and pulsating lights, the gold room with a speakeasy feel and a curated cocktail menu, with the secret room that is a unique space behind a certain set of doors. Most of the music on the main bar is good, the DJs are energetic, and the bartenders are efficient while professional. It's not the easiest place to photograph anything, but the different (hidden) spaces make it a worthy destination for discovery. The one area that I don't love is that they rock automatic gratuity. I do love how diverse the crowd is on the weekends, which is a testament to the city. Drinks are solid, but the speakeasy drinks are the ones that stand out the most. The latter definitely comes at a price, but beware that some drinks may have all the presence but not enough of the substance. __________ My photos: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/behind-closed-doors-houston?userid=ysCBsXWPB-LAiewVS3jZfQ

One thing to note is they don't serve food, I did hear they rotate food trucks at times, but none were there when we went which was a bit of a downside, but they did allow us to bring in outside food, which honestly made up for it and gave us more options. Parking wasn't too bad when we went, and since it wasn't super packed, everything felt smooth and easy. Overall, great vibes, good drinks, and a fun place. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for a casual hangout or social night out.
