If your looking for a first class party venue, this place is it! I'm an event planner and recently worked a wedding at Hughes Manor. 146 guests during covid-19, Feb 2021. From our first sit down meeting (before covid) to the emails and day of event set up and load out, Kate and Janell were professional, personable and covered all of our questions and requests with a smile. It's the little details that make a difference in a good event and Hughes Manor checked all the boxes for me. Lots of outdoor seating selections, a nice variety of tables and chairs, special lighting fixtures, and accessible a/v hook ups - Hughes Manor is full service! We attended a Fever event here. Flamenco dancing from Spain and it was a wonderful event. The facility is very nice and the seating was good and they had a full bar and food you could order. Parking is a challenge as they do valet and it looks like they don't have nearly enough parking so I don't know where they park all of the cars. It didn't really slow us down as we arrived late and left as the first people out the door but I can imagine that the valet process will be very lengthy for most people who visit this venue for a big event. read more

Ok so, don't use the valet! I sat there at the gas station across the street where they park the cars. And what I witness is horrible! They were driving the cars really fast, parking the cars soooo close.. that they had to cross over the person front seats to get out!!!! I should have recorded all that I saw...sorry! read more

We held the wedding reception (189 people) for our daughter and son-in-law at Hughes Manor and could not have been more pleased. The venue is lovely and Jess and Kate were such a pleasure to work with. We loved the indoor/outdoor space and the access to the bar from both sides. We probably had as many people outside as inside at any given point during the night. The venue was exactly what our daughter and son-in-law were looking for and it made for the perfect setting for their reception. read more

There were many amenities included in the price of the venue and the staff was attentive, professional and kind. The space itself is so beautiful it doesn't need too much decoration and has such a beautiful style. I came here for Cochon 2017 and was amazed at how beautiful this venue was! It looks small from the outside but is actually quite spacious and spread out. There are two indoor areas with a courtyard in between. Parking was valet only for the event and there was a long line afterwards for cars, causing everyone in line to bond over the delicious food we had that day. read more

We're still on cloud 9 after having our wedding at Hughes a few weeks ago. Hughes Manor was an incredible spot for our wedding--we were looking for something modern yet elegant, with wonderful indoor/outdoor space and nice lighting. Hughes surpassed the aesthetics that we were looking for. The staff was kind and attentive. In particularly, they were exceptional the day of with accommodating more guests that anticipated and quickly making the dance floor larger once we realized how many people were actually going to dance. This place creates a very fun, yet classy, atmosphere. Our guests raved about this space and didn't want to leave when our reception was ending. We would 1000% do our wedding again here--I look forward to convincing other friends to have their weddings here so we can attend! read more

BUYER BEWARE! We put a deposit down for a charity event and they told us at the last minute they were closing. Not only did we have to scramble to find another venue, but they kept our money. Basically, the owners used our money for charity to renovate the venue and reopen. They assured us they would take care of us, but instead went radio silent. I WOULD RUN, not walk from this venue. read more

The fact of the matter is, that the owners of this venue have truly worked with what they have. Washington street does not deserve this place! It's a beautiful venue that respects Houston's culture to the tee. Jillian has met with me and my fiancé in regards to our 130 guest count wedding, and I was very pleased with her professionalism as well as her attention to my theme and my requests for modifications of the venue. The perfect venue for the perfect wedding! My daughter and her fiance' walked into Hughes Manor and knew this was the venue for them. The indoor space, with chandeliers, polished concrete floors, and an eclectic mix of finishes, is fresh and sophisticated. The A.V. capabilities allow for all sorts of video and music options. The outdoor space is equally stunning and well designed. So we booked Hughes Manor and started working with Jess on all the details. She spent time with us on everything from contract details to table decorations. She is very friendly and easy to work with! And she helped us make good decisions. The wedding day was simply perfect! The ceremony was held outside in the beautiful lawn space and then we moved inside for the reception. Jess and her team did a great job of coordinating the lay-out and working seamlessly with our wedding planner. We have had so many compliments on the venue from our guests. It really is a special place right in the middle of Houston. My daughter and son-in-law really had the most amazing day. Hughes Manor is a beautiful venue indoors and outdoors. From pictures and what I've seen in person, the interior space is very customization depending the customers needs for the event. Our event went off without a hitch thanks to Jillian. She was very professional and able to meet all of our needs, she even had a list of caterers that they prefer to work with because of their reliability and quality. From the moment I walked into Hughes Manor, I was overwhelmed by how beautiful the space was. As soon as you pass the gates, you see this stunning venue. You would never expect to see such a gorgeous indoor and outdoor venue right off of Washington Avenue. I always said I would never get married outside in Houston...but when I saw the outdoor area, I knew I wanted to get married there! Every single one of our guests were raving about how perfect the venue was! The outdoor space was great for those who wanted to still enjoy the music during the reception but could sit on the lounge seats and have a conversation during the wedding. I never wanted to get married at a hotel and have that boring hotel vibe. This venue is just so majestic. Thank you Hughes Manor for making the entire process so easy!! We hosted a charity event at Hughes Manor early April and it was amazing! The staff, especially Jillian, was always so helpful and willing to answer our every question - and believe me we had a lot! They were always so accommodating, helpful and extremely responsive. Our event was supposed to be outside but with bad weather, the staff made sure they could accommodate our guests and needs indoors. Everything went extremely well the day our event took place.
